Chico acts on behalf of a number of major insurance and construction companies in Gibraltar. His experience ranges from handling claims both in the context of road traffic injuries and employment related injuries. Chico also undertakes probate and estates related work as well as heading up the firm s leading intellectual property and trademark practice. He qualified as an English solicitor in 2003. He undertakes general dispute resolution work including interim remedies, asset tracing, civil and commercial litigation, financial services, banking/regulatory litigation, trust/family disputes, divorce, separation and child related matters. Consultants Ray Pilley Ray Pilley is a former RAF fast jet pilot and instructor and was admitted to the roll of solicitors in England & Wales in 1981 and called to the Bar in Gibraltar in 1988. After running his own successful practice for almost 15 years he joined Triay & Triay in 2006. Ray undertakes local litigation work in the fields of criminal law, family law, landlord and tenant and housing. Budhrani, QC Haresh is a member of Lincoln s inn and was called to the Bar in England and Wales and Gibraltar in 1975, whereupon he began his legal career at Triay & Triay. After 6 years, he left to set up his own practice which he ran for over 33 years, during which he took silk in 1998 and served as Speaker of the Gibraltar Parliament from 2004 to 2012. His succession planning sees him back at Triay & Triay (since July 2015), bringing with him a mind of knowledge and experience in a wide area of law. Haresh specialises in corporate/commercial and property transactions involving business start-ups, the sale/purchase of business and leases/conveyances of commercial and residential properties. Patrick H Canessa ED Patrick is a latecomer to law and brings with him considerable commercial experience as well as discipline having run his own businesses in Gibraltar, Spain and Morocco and a military background. He was called to the Bar in England and Gibraltar in 2007 and is a member of the Inner Temple. Patrick is a recognised criminal litigator. He also undertakes civil litigation work and has acted on behalf of construction companies in health and safety related matters. Gomez CPM - (Jay) Joseph was called to the Bar in England and Wales in 2009 and subsequently in Gibraltar in 2012. He joined the firm following his retirement as a Superintendent in the Royal Gibraltar Police where he served the community for 28 years. He was awarded the Colonial Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2010 in recognition of his services. Sebastian Triay Sebastian is a member of the Dispute Resolution Team, focusing on Commercial Litigation, he has acted in a relation to claims against Banks, the insolvency of companies and claims against trusts. Sebastian is also part of the Shipping & Admiralty team, assisting with registration and arrest of ships, as well as having experience in the Private Client team. Sebastian attended Northumbria University, graduating with an LL.B. (Hons) in Law in May 2015 and completing his Legal Practice Course. He joined the firm in September of the same year and was called to the Bar in Gibraltar in November 2016 upon completing his training contract. sebastian.triay@triay.com Dhiraj Nagrani Dhiraj is a member of the Dispute Resolution team. Dhiraj focuses on civil litigation, and he has acted in a range of areas including personal injury, professional negligence, contractual disputes, property disputes, police misconduct and employment matters. Dhiraj has also assisted in personal injury disputes acting for both Defendants and Claimants alike. He has also advised clients in matters of criminal litigation. Dhiraj graduated with an LL.B. (Hons) in European Law (QD) from the University of Warwick in 2014. He spent a year at Université Lille II in Lille, France, studying French Law, and is familiar with civil law systems. He is fully proficient in French, and fluent in Spanish. He completed the BPTC at City Law School, London, and was called to the Bar of England & Wales by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in 2015. Trainee Joanna Baglietto Joanna joined the firm in September 2016 as a Trainee Solicitor. She is currently undergoing her training within the Dispute Resolution team, with particular involvement in family matters and commercial litigation. Joanna read English Literature and History at the University of Liverpool, graduating with an Upper Second-class BA (Hons). She subsequently completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP Law School (London), thereafter achieving a commendation for the Legal Practice Course.
