PRODUCT DIMENSIONS 10
INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS Warning! Ensure that the mounting surface can safely support the combined weight of the assembled mount and installed display. The television mounting step requires two people. 1. The temperature at the front of the fireplace mantle must never exceed 110 F (43 C). 2. If the wall to which this mount will be attached is a wooden wall, it must have at least one stud available for mounting. The dry wall or other wall covering must not exceed 0.6" (16mm) in thickness. 3. The fireplace mantle must extend no more than 13.7" (350mm) from the surface of the wall. 11
4. This mount is intended for flat screen televisions (LCD, LED, Plasma) only. The mounted television should be between 32" ~ 50" and weigh between 13.2 ~ 66.1 lbs. (6 ~ 30 kg). 5. The vertical space above the mantle must be greater than the height of the wallboard. The required vertical space depends on how far the mantle extends out from the wall. Mantle Size Less than 7.1" (180mm) 7.1" - 9.4" (180-240 mm) 9.4" - 11.8" (240-300 mm) 11.8" - 13.7" (300-350 mm) Space Height Wallboard height + 4.9" (125mm) Wallboard height + 5.9" (150mm) Wallboard height + 8.7" (220mm) Wallboard height + 9.8" (250mm) WOOD STUD WALL INSTALLATION 1. Use a tape measure to determine the center point of the mantle. Mark the centerline with a pencil or tape. 12
2. Use a stud finder to locate the stud closest to the centerline. Use a sharp awl or finishing nail to locate the edges of the stud, then mark the centerline of the stud. 3. Refer to the table in step 5 in the INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS section above. Determine the Space Height adjustment based on the depth of your fireplace mantle. For example, if your fireplace mantle is 8" deep, the offset height is 150mm (5.9"). Mark a drill hole in the center of the stud at a point this distance above the mantle. Then mark another drill hole in the center of the stud 145mm (5.7") above the first mark. Using a 6mm bit, drill pilot holes 68mm deep into the stud at the marked points. (Optional) Using a 1-1/2" hole saw, drill a cable management hole on one side of the stud, between the two vertical holes. 13
4. (Optional) Route the power and video cables through the wall and feed the ends through the cable management hole. 5. Using the included M5 Hex Wrench (N), remove the four screws that secure the wall plate to the Bracket (EE). 6. Place the magnetic spirit level on the top of the wall plate, then using two Hex Bolts (L), secure the wall plate to the stud by driving the screws through the two center holes into the pilot holes on the stud. Ensure that the wall plate is level. Take care not to over tighten the screws. 14
7. Place the Front Plate (DD) face down on a flat surface, then use the four Non-Slip Nuts and Plastic Washers (K) and the M10 Spanner Wrench (N), attach the Bracket (EE) to the front plate. Ensure that the a direction markings on the front plate and bracket align. 15
8. Using the four screws removed in step 5 above and the M5 Hex Wrench (N), reattach the Bracket (EE) to the wall plate. 9. Using the two Cable Ties (N), secure the power and video cables to the side of the Bracket (EE). 16
CONCRETE WALL INSTALLATION 1. Use a tape measure to determine the center point of the mantle. Mark the centerline with a pencil or tape. 17
2. Refer to the table in step 5 in the INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS section above. Determine the Space Height adjustment based on the depth of your fireplace mantle. For example, if your fireplace mantle is 8" deep, the offset height is 150mm (5.9"). Mark drill holes 50mm to each side of the centerline at a point this distance above the mantle. Then mark two more drill holes 145mm (5.7") above the first marks. Using a 10mm bit, drill anchor holes 68mm deep at the marked points. Note that if the wall is covered with dry wall, drill 68mm deep into the concrete so that the anchors can be fully inserted into the concrete. (Optional) For best results, hire a professional installer to install in-wall wiring or a wall AV plate for the power and video cables. 18
3. Insert the four Screw Anchors (M) into the drilled holes. Tap them in place with a hammer. 4. Using the included M5 Hex Wrench (N), remove the four screws that secure the wall plate to the Bracket (EE). 19
5. Place the magnetic spirit level on the top of the wall plate, then using four Hex Bolts (L), secure the wall plate to the screw anchors by driving the screws through the four outer holes into the anchors in the wall. Ensure that the wall plate is level. Take care not to over tighten the screws. 6. Place the Front Plate (DD) face down on a flat surface, then use the four Non-Slip Nuts and Plastic Washers (K) and the M10 Spanner Wrench (N), attach the Bracket (EE) to the front plate. Ensure that the "UP" direction markings on the front plate and bracket line up. 20
7. Using the four screws removed in step 4 above and the M5 Hex Wrench (N), reattach the Bracket (EE) to the wall plate. 8. Using the two Cable Ties (N), secure the power and video cables to the side of the Bracket (EE). 21
ATTACHING THE TV 1. Place a blanket or towel on the floor or other flat surface, then place your TV face down on the blanket or towel. Examine the rear of your TV. If it curves, you will need to use spacers in addition to a set of screws and washers. Choose an appropriate set of hardware that will fit the VESA holes in your TV. Use one of the following combinations of screws, washers, and spacers: Set Hardware 1 4x M6x12 Phillips Pan Head Screw (A) + 4x Washer 1 (G) 2 4x M6x25 Phillips Pan Head Screw (B) + 4x Washer 1 (G) + 4x Spacer 1 (H) 3 4x M8x12 Phillips Pan Head Screw (C) 4 4x M8x25 Phillips Pan Head Screw (D) + 4x Spacer 1 (H) 5 4x M8x35 Phillips Pan Head Screw (E) + 4x Spacer 1 (H) 6 4x M8x35 Phillips Pan Head Screw (E) + 4x Spacer 2 (I) 7 4x M8x40 Phillips Pan Head Screw (F) + 4x Spacer 1 (H) 8 4x M8x40 Phillips Pan Head Screw (F) + 4x Spacer 2 (I) 22
2. Position the Hook Brackets (BB) on the back of your TV, with the hooks at the top of the TV. Secure them to the TV using the hardware you selected in the previous step. 3. Position the Connecting Bar (CC) in the grooves at the bottom of the Hook Brackets (BB), then secure it to the brackets using two M6x20 Phillips Pan Head Screws (J). 23
4. Position the Handle (AA) on the center of the Connecting Bar (CC), then secure it in place using four M6x8 Phillips Pan Head Screws (J). 5. Using two people, lift the TV and hook the Hook Brackets (BB) onto the Front Plate (DD). Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screws in the middle of the hook brackets to lock the brackets in place on the front plate, as shown in the image below. 6. Using the included M8 Hex Wrench (O), adjust the gas spring pressure to counterbalance the weight of the TV, so that you can easily raise or lower it using the handle. By default, the pressure is set to 30kg. 24
7. Adjust the tilt to the desired position, as shown in the following image. Congratulations, your wall mount is properly installed and ready for use!
