Community Outreach Our goal: To share our love of sewing and help people in our community. Linda Higuera Here are the dates for Community Outreach sewing sessions for the first half of 2018. All sessions are from 9 am to 1 pm. Copper Canyon Fabrics Unlimited January 17th February 13th 21st March 13th 21st April 3rd 18th May 1st 16th June 5th 19th Please feel free to bring a friend. You don't have to be a member of Havasu S tchers to a end these sessions. Any ques ons, please give me a call. Linda Higuera 970-988-0165 As we begin a new year of Community Outreach I wanted to share a story with you. Last week I received a call from River Valley Hospice, one of the facili es that uses the items we create. They have a 91 year old man who broke his hip a year ago. Since then he has been really resis ve to ge ng out of his wheelchair and using a walker. As a result his health is steadily declining. One of the nurses finally confronted him about his reluctance to use his walker. He told her it was because he couldn't carry his "stuff" using his walker. A quick trip to their office and a return with a walker bag has resulted in him ge ng out of his wheelchair and using his walker regularly. If you ever had any doubts about the value of the work we do, this should answer that ques on. For all of you who have donated fabric, worked on a project at home, or sewed like crazy at one of our sessions, know that what you do is important. Looking forward to a wonderful 2018. BUY RAFFLE TICKETS AT THE MEETING & WIN FUN PRIZE BASKETS OR 50/50 MONEY! Remember, it only takes one ticket to win! WAYS AND MEANS Need Volunteers for this group!!! Sign up and enjoy! 7
