SYSTEMATIC CRUDE OIL DEWATERING AND WASTE WATER DEOILING SEPARATION TECHNOLOGY FOR THE PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY Feststoffsammelraum
CWD is a trademark owned by MAHLE Industriefiltration. The company reserves the right to make changes at any time without prior notice. MAHLE Industriefiltration offers a broad range of outstandingly effective and economic products for crude oil separation and waste water deoiling. Our systems are supremely reliable and require very little maintenance. All systems can be manufactured and fitted in compliance with British Standard, ASME and ATEX regulations. CWD dewatering systems can be customised to the needs of highly specific applications and requirements by combining individual separation elements. Welcome to a new dimension in crude oil separation! We are also specialists for water deoiling. NFV deoilers use advanced, tried-and-tested separation technology and can guarantee waste water purity in compliance with IMO, DIN and EN standards. 2

Inerti al impactio n FULLY AUTOMATIC, NO CHEMICAL OUR SEPARATION SYSTEMS 1 st stage: Multi-Phase Separation MPS The multiphases (oil, water, solids) are separated in the first stage (MPS): the oil is pumped through the MPS profiles. As it passes through the inlet the oil is swirled on to the MPS profiles and the small water droplets merge to form larger drops. These are bound by the gravitational and ad - hesion forces of the profiles and directed down into the water collecting area. The solids slide down the profiles into the sludge holding tank. This operation is also suitable for deoiling. 2 nd stage: Mechanical Emulsion Breaker MESB The fine water droplets are separated in the second stage: the oil flows through a micro -fibre bed where small water droplets merge to form larger drops which flow down into the water collecting area. 3 rd stage: Membrane Filtration In the third stage the oil flows through a water-repellent membrane which dependably retains the last remaining water droplets. 3

Deoiler MPEB MPS MESB Water and solids separation with subsequent separation of the finest water droplets from the oil (or oil and solids separation/separation of the finest oil droplets). Dewatering System PTS/OTS-S2 MESB Membrane The dual-phase liquid-liquid separation is the right solution for oil that does not contain solids. Even the very finest water droplets are separated in the Polishing Stage. Dewatering System PTS/OTS-S3 MPS MESB Membrane The triple-phase system comprises all three modules and offers the very highest, most advanced separation efficiency. 4
Refineries Crude Oil Dewatering Systems Waste Water Treatment The aim of an effective refining process is to reduce the water content in oil to a level as low as possible. We offer crude oil processing with residual water contents of 0.5%. Oil fields Crude Oil Dewatering Systems Injection Water Deoiling Systems Waste Water Treatment Crude oils often contain a significant proportion of water. Our CWD dewatering system can be designed to highly specific customer requirements to ensure even, reliable separation. Drilling rigs Crude Oil Dewatering Systems Injection Water Deoiling Systems Waste Water Treatment Space is always a scarce good on oil platforms or drilling ships. Our separation systems are very compact; their modular design allows them to be adapted precisely to the available space. Our separation systems dependably remove any water in crude oil and provide optimum deoiling of injection water and waste water. SEPARATION AND DEOILING FOR REFINERIES, OIL FIELDS AND DRILLING RIGS MAHLE Industriefiltration develops and builds advanced filtration and separation technology for use in a wide range of industrial applications and in power plants, civil and military ship -- building. The company is part of the MAHLE Group, one of the top 30 automotive suppliers globally and the world market leader for combustion engine components, systems and peripherals. NFV and AKO products are used in the following applications: Bilge water deoiling Ballast water treatment Cooling lubricant and detergent processing Industrial waste water cleaning Separation systems (petrochem. industry) Oil and fuel treatment for engines, turbines and gears; heavy oil filtration Protection of hydraulic units, pipe lines, transfer and circulation systems 5
