TREATMENT Inspiration We love working with comedy and don t get enough opporunties We re very excited about the chance to create this fun, witty, entertaining and informative web pilot for you. Director s Approach: The goal is to create a witty fun 2-minute pilot where male and female duo banter about how great the product is compared with the competition. Casting: Obviously the key is casting. We literally cast a wide net shouted out to our comic actor friends and posted on Breakdown Services where we received over 750 submissions. Our criteria for calling someone in for the audition was that they had a strong comedic reel, preferably with hosting, stand-up and sketch writing experience. We auditioned over 30 people. We tried to pair people we thought would be strong with each other but some of that was schedule dependent. We are submitting our strongest candidates and if you like them, we can do call-backs with other comic actors we auditioned to select the pair that has the strongest chemistry. Casting is key and we want to give you the best duo - funny, natural and engaging.
Shooting and editing style: We plan to shoot the pilot using a three-camera set-up so we can cut between two shots and singles to create a fast-paced funny engaging two minute piece. We'll place the duo in a set production-designed to be comfortable and fun with a color palette matching the sponsor's colors. Our cinematographer Fortunato Procopio has extensive experience shooting comedy promos for Saturday Night Live and NBC.
