Wipe clean and with the 1" wash, apply All Purpose sealer to the entire surface. Let dry. Sand a second time, wipe clean and your piece is now ready to paint! PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS Use appropriate color transfer paper as needed. Then tape the underside edges of the piece (this area will not be painted, however, you can do so if you wish). Next, trace a line where the grass will start. This will guide you for painting in the sky. Using the #1 wash, start with Dioxazine Purple at the top, and pick up some Blue Harbour, working your way across and downwards. Continue and pick up some Wisteria, keeping it light towards the bottom. Stop once you ve reached the grass line. Pick up some water along the way if you find your brush is pulling. Retrace the grass line. Using the #1 wash, start at the top of the grass with Light Avocado, picking up some Avocado working your way across and downwards. Continue and pick up some Midnite Green and finish off to the bottom. Now trace the moon. Moon Base in Payne s Grey using the size 20. Let dry and base in Buttermilk, using the size 20 again. Apply one coat only to allow the shadows to show through to create depth. Now trace the house, chimneys, steps and walkway. Foundation Using the size 10, base in Neutral Grey. Shade stones with Graphite using the size 2 and highlight with Grey Sky. Tape the sides of the house. Base in Bleached Sand using the size 20. Trace in the windows and base them in Lamp Black using the size 8 for the square ones and the size 3 round for the round one. Paint in bricks using the size 0 with Heritage Brick. second coat to random bricks. Shade random bricks on the left side with Asphaltum using the size 4. Add a small flame in the square windows using the size 18/0 and Golden Straw. Float in Golden Straw around each flame using the size 2. Window trim is lined in with Warm White using the size 10/0. Add a line for the stand in Grey Sky, using the size 18/0. Chimneys Paint in the same manner as the brick work for the house but use the size 2 and the size 0. The chimney tops are Bleached Sand using the size 2. Shade with Fawn using the size 6. Add streams of smoke in Warm White with the size 10/0. Stairs Base in Bleached Sand using the size 10. Shade with Asphaltum using the size 8 and highlight with Light Buttermilk using the size 6. Walkway Using the size 20, base in Raw Umber. Let dry and apply a wet streak with Sable Brown over the top, also with the size 20. Create as much depth as you like. Shade the sides of the walkway with Soft Black, using the size 20. Trace the door and front porch. Tape off the roof and porch roof. Base in Payne s Grey using the size 12. Highlight with French Grey Blue using the size 12. Base the door in Country Red, using the size 8. Shade left side with Black Plum and highlight the right side with Bleached Sand, both using the size 6. Door knocker is Golden Straw with the size 18/0. Use the size 18/0 and paint in the door knob and hinges in Lamp Black. Shade the left side of the house and under the roof tops with Black Plum using the size 10. Use the size 18/0 and add gingerbread trim in Snow White, adding top and bottom dots at the top with the stylus. Using the size 10, paint in the porch posts and railing with Warm White, add a light line of Fawn with the size 18/0. Add a dot on the end posts with Warm White using the stylus. Add pumpkins on the porch in Canyon Orange with the size 18/0. You can trace them in first, or freehand them. Add lines on pumpkin with Oxblood using the size 18/0. Stems are a mix of Avocado and Asphaltum using the size 18/0. Now Trace the trees, hanging pumpkin, fence and children. Tree Trunk Use the size 12, 3 round and 10/0 as needed. Base in Light Cinnamon. Shade with Soft Black and highlight with Fawn. Add grain lines in Soft Black. (leaves will come later). Fence Using the size 1 shader, base the pickets in Light Buttermilk and use the size 10/0 for the joining railing. Shade with Fawn using the size 2 and highlight with Snow White. Add post tops in Light Buttermilk using the stylus. Hanging Pumpkin Base in Canyon Orange using the size 10. Wash over with Asphaltum, using the size 10. Shade with Asphaltum using the size 8. Eyes, mouth and nose are Golden Straw with the size 10/0. Add Tangerine trim with the size 18/0, and Snow White also with the size 18/0. Stem is based in Avocado using the size 3 round and 18/0 for the tip. Add a line of Asphaltum with the size 18/0 to create the lid and add bits of Snow White. Add lines of a mix of Golden Straw, Light Avocado and Snow White to the stem, using the size 18/0. Add the wire in Neutral Grey with the size 18/0. Jack-O-Lantern child Paint the head in Canyon Orange using the size 6. Shade with Oxblood and highlight with Tangerine using the size 6. Line stem in with the size 10/0 using Light Avocado, Asphaltum and Golden Straw. Base the shirt in Blue Harbour using the size 4. Shade where shown with Dioxazine Purple using the size 4. The collar is in Wisteria, using the size 4, and the cuffs and design are 4 artistsclub.com

with the size 2. Shade the Wisteria trim with Blue Harbour using the size 4. Pants are based in Golden Straw using the size 4. Shade with Burnt Sienna and highlight with Light Buttermilk using the size 4. Base the bag in Bleached Sand using the size 2. Stripes are Fawn using the size 2. Shade down the left side with Fawn and highlight with Light Buttermilk using the size 6. Shoes are Lamp Black using the size 18/0, adding a highlight with French Grey Blue using the size 18/0. Hands are based in Cashmere Beige using the size 10/0. Shade with Asphaltum using the size 2. Ghost child Base in Snow White using the size 2. Shade with the size 6 with Asphaltum. Dot the eye in Lamp Black with the stylus. Pumpkin is 10/0 in Canyon Orange. Shade left side with Oxblood using the size 4. Handle is lined in Lamp Black with the size 18/0. Witch child Base her dress in Dioxazine Purple using the size 6. Highlight with Wisteria using the size 4. Base her hat in Lamp Black using the size 10/0. Highlight with French Grey Blue using the size 4. Base her hair in Golden Straw using the size 6. Shade with Burnt Sienna and highlight with Light Buttermilk using the size 6. Leaves on trees/grass Using the size 6 Blending brush, start with Burnt Sienna to create the shape of the trees. Repeat with Oxblood, then Canyon Orange, Tangerine and Golden Straw. Each color is applied less and less to allow for the darker shades to come through. Add random leaves with the size 2 filbert, triple loading the brush with Oxblood, Canyon Orange and Golden Straw. Use liquid shadow around the right side of the trees, house and hanging pumpkin using the size 12. FINISHING Sign and seal with Americana Dura Clear Varnish in Satin using the size 1 wash. Once dry, line in the spider web with the white chalk pencil. Apply a spray of acrylic matte sealer, to seal in the chalk lines. Once dry, apply a second coat of Dura Clear varnish to completely seal it in. 6 artistsclub.com
