Remove the corner steady legs by removing the 3 nuts that are holding the leg onto the caravan chassis. Remove all 4 corner steady legs this way. Take all 4 corner steady legs to your workshop for service. Put the leg into a Vice grip. Remove the 2 nut on the rear of the threaded rod. Use a 19 spanner and remove the threaded rod from the leg. Make sure there are no damages on the threaded rod. Clean the threaded rod properly. Grease the threaded rod. 1 P age
Slide the supplied thrust bearing marked 51103 over the treaded rod onto the flat plate as per picture. Grease the trust bearing properly. Place treaded rod with trust bearing in safe clean place. Remove the 3 nuts and bolts as indicated in the picture. Place the nuts and bolts as well as the small piece of pipe that the long bolt was running through in a safe place. Remove the 2 x side support bars from the leg. Remove the leg from the leg T- base. Now you will have the T- base only in the vice grip. Measure 35mm from the wall of the centre hole to the left and the right of the centre hole. Make a clear mark with a marking pen. Make an X over the 35mm marks exactly 20mm from the top as per the picture. 2 P age
Drill 2 x 4mm holes at the X marks. Take the side bars and remove the sharp edge with a bench grinder on the one side of the bar as per picture. Do the same with the second side bar. Put the side bar back onto the T- base with the 2 x bolts and nuts that was removed before. Do not over tighten the bolt. There must be a little play between the side bar and the T- base. NB: Ensure that the welding on the inside of the T- base does not touch the side bar. If the welding touches- Remove the side bar again and remove more of the edge with the bench grinder and re- install. Do the same with the second side bar. Re- install the leg onto the 2 x side bars. Remember to put the bolt that was removed through the pipe on the inside of the leg. 3 P age
Do not over tighten. There must be a little play between the side bars and the leg. Re- install the greased threaded rod with the thrust bearing through the centre hole in the T- base onto the leg. Screw the threaded rod in until it touches the T- base. The leg is now serviced and ready for the motor of the levelling system. Take 1 of the supplied levelling motors and screw it onto the T- base with the supplied screws. Ensure that the motor are in the direction away from the leg. Cable tie the wire for the motor onto the motor bracket as per picture. Cut the excess of the cable tie off. Pull the supplied protective sock for the motor over the motor. 4 P age
Re- install the removed L- bracket from the rear of the leg. Insert the supplied thrust bearing marked 51100 over the threaded rod at the rear of the leg as per the picture. Grease the thrust bearing properly. Re- install the 2 nuts that was removed from the rear of the leg. Do not over tighten the bolts. Finger tighten the first nut and then tightly lock the second nut onto the first nut to ensure it will not come lose. Repeat the same with the other 3 steady legs. Re- install all 4 steady legs back onto the caravan with the nut that was removed before. 5 P age
If the levelling motor on the leg catches the caravan when installing the leg. Remove the motor by removing the 2 screws that holds the motor to the leg and turn the motor 180 degrees. Re- install the motor onto the leg and re- install the leg onto the caravan. NOTE: There are 2 x left and 2 x right motors in the kit. Install the motors so the motors will face towards the centre of the caravan. After all 4 legs are re- installed on the caravan. Install the new supplied footpad onto the 4 legs. Ensure that the arrow on the footpad always face towards the front of the caravan. Find a good position on the floor of the caravan for the Auto Levelling Module (ALM). This position must be as close as possible to the battery. Open the ALM by removing the 4 screw on the lid. Remove the Auto Levelling Remote from the inside of the ALM. 6 P age
Look at the picture inside the ALM of the caravan frame. Ensure that the front on the frame picture caravan is facing the front of the actual caravan. Secure the ALM to the floor of the caravan with the 4 supplied screws. Drill a 20mm hole in line with the ALM but in front of the ALM. This hole is for the wires from the 4 motors. Motors on the caravan are numbered as follows. When standing behind the caravan. Motor 1 = Front Left Motor 2 = Front Right Motor 3 = Rear Right Motor 4 = Rear Left Take the supplied 2.5sqmm twin flex wire. Put the supplied corrugated sleeving over the wire. Plug the 1 side of the wire into motor 1 and the other side into motor 4, neatly secure the wire with supplied clips and screw onto the floorboard. Run the wire towards the centre of the caravan first and then along the middle towards the hole for the ALM. Plug the second wire into motor 2 and 3 and run the wire the same way. Both wires centres must be pushed through the hole at the ALM. Cut the wires in the desired lengths to ensure they are long enough to reach the ALM. 7 P age
Connect the wire from motor 1 to position M1 where red is + and red black is -. Connect the wire from motor 2 to position M2 where red is + and red black is -. Connect the wire from motor 3 to position M3 where red is + and red black is -. Connect the wire from motor 4 to position M4 where red is + and red black is -. Make sure the wires are connected properly. Take the 2 supplied wires with the small LED s on the end. Drill a small 8mm hole on the left wheel arch of the caravan. Install the LED into the hole on the left wheel arch. Run the LED wire to the centre and then to the ALM. Secure the wire onto the floorboard with the supplied clips and screws. Do the same with the LED wire on the right wheel arch of the caravan. Plug the teminals of the LED light from the left wheel arch to the left side of the connector where the red wire goes to the top and the black wire to the bottom. Do the same with the LED wires from the rights side. 8 P age
Connect the supplied 4sqmm wire to the position marked 12v Red to + and red/black to -. Insert the supplied Isolator switch in a safe position on the RED wire between the battery and the ALM. Remove the key on the Isolator switch. Connect the round terminals on the other side of the wire to the battery. Red to + and red/black to -. Switch on the Isolator switch with the supplied key.
