937LED Series UV screen printing inks, LED-curing www.rucousa.com
Our 935UV Series has a well deserved reputation as the industry standard in durability, printability and opacity. So what s new about 937LED? With the emergence of UV/LED curing technology as a proven alternative to conventional mercury vapor UV curing we developed a new solution called 900- UV/LED specifically formulated for UV/LED curing systems. Along the way our R&D team identified a major advantage of this new series it developed a more durable print within minutes after curing. By contrast, existing series all required a post-cure period of at least 24 hours before achieving the same level of durability. One solution for both LED and mercury vapor UV New 937LED Series combines the proven superior print qualities of 935UV and the immediate durability of 900-UV/LED into one universal solution that is suited to not just UV/LED curing but also conventional mercury vapor UV curing systems. 937LED represents the single biggest advancement in UV screen printing ink technology for glass in many years. www.rucousa.com
du ra bil i ty noun: the ability to withstand wear, pressure, or damage. The most critical measure of success is whether your printed image meets the durability requirements of the end user; from high speed filling lines to multiple dishwashing cycles or ice water immersion. RUCO 937LED inks meet the toughest durability standards, and do so while eliminating the need for a 24 hour post cure period. 937LED users print, pack and ship same-day with superior process security provided by the industry leader in durability. www.rucousa.com
Dishwasher Resistance Dishwashing resistance is critical in the drinkware market. RUCO 937LED offers superior durability that exceeds even the most critical requirements: Home dishwasher: minimum of 500 cycles Commercial industrial dishwasher: minimum of 1,000 cycles Pencil Hardness Test With the pencil test* we re able to measure the durability of the ink film surface with a pencil hardness between H1 and H 6. The typical accepted range is between 3H and 5H. With 937LED inks we can achieve a value of more than > 5 H. *Ritz Härteprüfer nach Wolff-Wilborn Type 291 www.rucousa.com
Crosshatch/Tape Test The cross hatch tape test (ASTM D3359-09) checks the level of adhesion to the substrate. First the printed image is scored using a crosshatch cutting tool, then tape is applied. When the tape is pulled off we re able to quantify the amount of ink removed. With proper pre-treatment we can achieve a result between 5B (0%) and 4B (>5%). (Values of 4B to 5B are considered passing.) 5B (0%) 4B (>5%) 3B (5-15%) 2B (15-35%) 1B (35-65%) New 937LED inks develop scratch resistance within minutes, not hours or days like other types. Properly treated and cured, bottles printed with 937LED will pass crosshatch tape testing after just 5-10 minutes. This means that packing immediately into cardboard or bulk packing is safer with 937LED. www.rucousa.com
