Traditional Coffins All of our traditional coffins are supplied by Vic Fearn Ltd, a family business established by Alfred Franks in the 1860s in Nottingham. The firm now have a second base on the Isle of Wight and are best known for their Crazy Coffins, exhibited at the Southbank Centre in London in 2012. These are custom built coffins in any shape, from guitars to narrow boats!

Alternative Coffins Our alternative coffins are also sourced from Vic Fearn s on the Isle of Wight and manufactured by Oasis Coffins, Earth to Heaven and the Somerset Willow Company. Oasis Coffins is established in the Nilphamari district in Bangladesh. Oasis is an active member of the Fair Trade Forum in Bangladesh and is committed to the Ten Principles of Fair Trade agreed by the World Fair Trade Organization. Earth to Heaven is a Sussex based eco-coffin manufacturer that is committed to creating environmentally friendly, biodegradable willow and bamboo coffins. The Somerset Willow Company is a family business of four generations who provide our hand-woven willow coffins.
Oval Shaped Bamboo Coffin Bamboo is from the grass family and many species can grow up to two feet a day. When it s harvested it does not need to be replanted as it will grow a shoot from its extensive root system. Bamboo is an endlessly renewable resource. This bamboo coffin is intricately woven and elegantly tapered. It has a cream calico lined lid with cream interior, matching pillow and cover. It is strong and secure with a strengthened base and reinforced edging. The handles are woven rope and bamboo with a securely fitted lid. This coffin is suitable for both burial and cremation.
Traditional Shaped Bamboo Coffin Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on the planet, growing up to two feet per day. Our traditional shaped bamboo coffin is made by Oasis Coffins. The bamboo is managed and harvested in Bangladesh according to best practice and in partnership with a Bangladeshi charity called Supoth that works directly with over 40 producers from the local rural community. The coffin is suitable for both burial and cremation.

Somerset Willow The Somerset Willow Company is based in Bridgwater, and has been family owned for four generations. Each coffin is hand made from locally harvested willow by a skilled basket maker, so the coffin can be custom designed to your specifications in terms of finish, colours and shape. Among the most environmentally friendly coffins available, native willow is a highly renewable crop that is harvested annually and requires minimal processing. It degrades rapidly in soil and helps to lock carbon emissions into its willow stems.
