Candle Lights in Patina 2132 Dog Light Top 2133 Dog Light Bottom 2137 Kitten Light 2138 Grasshopper Light Top 2139 Grasshopper Light Bottom 2140 Sm. Fish Light OPAQUE STAINS: Black Forest Green, Turquoise, Mint Green and Water Base Copper. PREPARATION: While the greenware is still damp, cut out the designs. Carefully clean the greenware and retexture the textured seamlines with the TL-9 Texture Tool. Fire to cone 05. BASECOAT: All pieces with Black Forest Green. PAINT MIXTURES: In a jar, mix as follows: Patina mixture-2 parts Mint Green, 1 part Turquoise and 1 1/2 parts water. In a new jar, mix for the copper wash, 2 parts Copper and 3 parts water. Shake to mix well. WASH: Apply patina and copper to piece as follows: Do this process over a sink and have all materials handy. Each paint mixture should have separate brushes. Run the piece under water, inside and out. Apply patina mixture to the entire piece. Using copper mixture, dab on piece here and there. Allow to drip dry. Do not touch until completely dry. For a lighter wash, add more water to the patina mixture. NOTE: When using the candle lights, make sure the candle flame is directly under the large vent hole of each piece. CATS AND FISH 2130 Cat Light Top 2131 Cat Light Bottom 2137 Kitten Light 2140 Sm. Fish Light BISQUE UNDERGLAZES: Sunkissed, Cheeky Pinky, Blue Isle, Tuxedo and Pink-A-Boo. GLAZE: Licorice Speck PREPARATION: While casts are still damp, cut out oval holes in kitten and fish for toothbrushes. Cut out a hole in the back of the cat large enough to

accommodate a toiletbrush. Cut out a few stripes in the back of the cat for air vents. Slip attach the large cat top to the cat bottom using plenty of slip to get a waterproof seal. Carefully clean the greenware and retexture the seamlines with the TL-9 Texture Tool. Fire to cone 05. PAINT: Paint 2 very heavy coats of Blue Isle to the fishes designs and fins. Apply 2 very heavy coats of Cheeky Pinky to the cats stripes and noses. Apply 1 coat of Pink-A-Boo to the cat s bellies and insides of ears. Apply 2 very heavy coats of Sunkissed to the fishes eyes. Paint one coat of Tuxedo to eye centers, stripes on the fin and the dots on the cat s muzzle. With a liner brush and slightly watered down Tuxedo, line the fishes designs and eyes and the cat s stripes, muzzle and between their legs, thighs, tail and paws. Let dry. GLAZE: Apply 2 coats of Licorice Speck to the insides and outsides of all pieces. Fire to cone 06. PUPPIES AND DOG 2132 Dog Light top 2133 Dog Light Bottom 2134 Puppy Light BISQUE UNDERGLAZES: Tuxedo, Cotton Tail, Blue Yonder and Pink-A-Boo. GLAZES: Licorice Speck. PREPARATION: PLEASE SEE PREPARATION FOR CATS AND FISH. PAINT: Paint the black spots, noses and the inside of the toothbrush holder with 1 heavy coat of Tuxedo. Apply 1 coat of Pink-A-Boo to the insides of the ears and the belly area. Paint the eye whites with Cotton Tail, the irises with Blue Yonder and the pupil with Tuxedo. With a liner brush and slightly watered down Tuxedo, line the dogs where desired. Let dry. GLAZE: Apply 2 coats of Licorice Speck to the insides and outsides of all the pieces. If you want the extra black dots on the dogs, strain some crystals out of Duncan s Dalmatian glaze and add them to your 2nd coat of glaze. Remove any of the Dalmatian crystals from their eyes. Fire to cone 06. FURRY BEAR LAMP 2135 Furry Bear Sitting 631 Lg. Lamp Base OPAQUE STAINS: Deep Brown, Walnut, Medium Brown, Country Gold, Vanilla, Marigold Yellow, Blond, White, Black and Peach Blush. SPECIALTIES: Gloss Sealer MISC: Lamp hook-up

PREPARATION: Carefully clean the greenware, replace lost texture with the TL- 9 Texture Tool. Before firing place the proper holes in the bear and the base for lamp hook-up. Fire to cone 05. BASECOAT: Basecoat the bear with Deep Brown and the base with 1:1 mixture of Vanilla and White. DRYBRUSH: Drybrush the bear with 3 to 4 heavy coats of Walnut to the bear s fur, slightly getting the paint into the deep crevices. Using the same brush apply Medium Brown and Country Gold in the same manner. Highlight the top of the fur with Vanilla and then White. Lightly blush the cheeks and the pads of the feet with Peach Blush. Drybrush the overalls with 4 coats of Marigold Yellow followed with 2 to 3 coats of Blond. Highlight with Vanilla and White. PAINT: The eyes, nose, and band and squares on the base with Black. Lightly drybrush the nose with Black with White added to your brush When dry, apply gloss sealer to the eyes and the base. FINISH: Hook up the electrical. Opaque Stains by Scioto Bisque Underglazes and Glaze by Mayco Black Crystals - Duncan Dalmation Glaze Crystals GINGERBREAD BEARS 2147 Gingerbread Bear Boy 2148 Gingerbread Bear Girl OPAQUE STAINS: Deep Brown, Walnut, Auburn, Med. Brown, Autumn Rust, Country Gold, Blond, Vanilla, Sherwood Green, Victorian Green, Christmas Red, Peach Blush, Black and White. SPECIALTIES: Gloss Sealer MISC: 5mm red pin lights and electrical hook-up. PREPARATION: Clean greenware and retexture the textured seamlines with the TL-9 Texture Tool. Place holes in the wreath for pin lights and a hole for the cord. Fire to cone 05. BASECOAT: Both bears with Deep Brown DRYBRUSH: Both bears avoiding the wreath and holly with 3 to 4 coats of Walnut getting slightly into the fur s crevices. Follow with 3 coats of Medium Brown. Continue bear fur area with 2 to 3 coats of Country Gold and 1 coat of Blond. Highlight the top or the fur lightly with Vanilla. Drybrush the gingerbread outfits and men with 2 coats of Auburn, 1 coat of Autumn Rust and 1 to 2 coats of Autumn Rust and Country Gold and Auburn mixed. You may want to add a touch of Dark Blond to the mixture. Drybrush the green areas with 2 coats of Sherwood Green, followed with 2 coats of Victorian Green. Highlight with Vanilla.

PAINT: The gingerbread trim with 1 heavy coat of Vanilla, followed with a coat of White. The red trim is painted with Christmas Red. The eyes and the noses are Black. Drybrush the noses with Black and a little White added to your brush. FINISH: When dry, paint gloss sealer to the eyes and the red and white trim. Glue in the pin lights and hook up the electrical. CHRISTMAS TREE AND SNOWFLAKE LIGHTS 1117 Lg. Snowflake 1118 Sm. Snowflake 2141 Christmas Tree Light Top 2142 Christmas Tree Light Bottom 2146 Sm. Christmas Tree Light GLAZE: Clear Glaze TEXTURAL GLAZE: Astro Gem- White Opal OVERGLAZE: Liquid Bright Gold and Mother of Pearl SPECIALTIES: Wax Resist MISC: Sm. piece of Bubble pack PREPARATION: While greenware is still damp cut out the designs in the snowflakes and trees. If desired place holes in the trees with the smaller end of the #2 Clay Magic Tool and the larger end of the #1 tool. Carefully clean the greenware and fire to cone 05. PAINT: Paint 3 coats of White Opal on the outsides of all pieces, letting the piece dry between coats. Fire to cone 05. GLAZE: Paint 1 heavy coat of Clear Glaze to the insides of all cut outs. This is not difficult or time consuming. You do not need to be neat. Allow to dry. WAX RESIST: Place a small puddle of Wax Resist onto a glazed tile and apply the Wax Resist evenly to the entire piece, by dabbing it on, using the bubble pack as an applicator. When the Wax Resist is dry, apply 3 coats of clear glaze to the insides and outsides of all pieces. Fire to cone 06. OVERGLAZE: Apply the gold to the insides of all cut out areas, being careful not to get the gold on any unglazed surface. Fire to cone 017. OVERGLAZE: Apply the Mother of Pearl over the outsides of all pieces and if desired to the insides of the snowflakes. Fire to cone 020. 2063 Light Angel with lamp and Baby Jesus 2064 Hope Angel with horn and Baby Jesus 2065 Peace Angel with Dove and Baby Jesus 1649 Two Pair Wings OPAQUE STAINS: Black Forest Green, Sherwood Green, Victorian Green, Deep Brown, Walnut, Burgundy, Christmas Red, Marigold Yellow, Blonde, Vanilla, White, Black, Royal Purple and Night Blue. SPECIALTIES: Water Base Gold GLAZE: Clear Glaze OVERGLAZE: Hanovia Liquid Bright Gold MISC: Dish soap PREPARATION: While the greenware is still damp cut out the star design on the angels. Slip attach the heads, wings and attachments to the angels. Place a small vent hole in the back of the neck of the Angel Lights. Clean the greenware and fire to cone 05. GLAZE: Apply 3 coats of Clear Glaze to the areas you desire gold and to the inside of the angels. Fire to cone 06. OVERGLAZE: Apply liquid gold to the glazed areas except inside of angels. Fire to cone 017. PAINT: Apply a coat of dish soap to all gold and glazed areas. This eases the removal of the opaque stain when piece is completed. BASECOAT: Sm. angels and the heads of angel lights with Deep Brown. Basecoat the gowns of the angel lights with Black Forest Green and the wings with Vanilla. OVERPAINT: Using Water Base Gold, paint over the wings and gowns of the Angel Lights, before the paint dries, use a clean brush and pat water onto the gold and let the gold flow into the crevices, allowing the background color to show through. Do this over a sink and in small sections at a time. Let dry. DRYBRUSH: Drybrush the flesh with 3 coats of Walnut. Blush the cheeks and lips with Burgundy. Drybrush all the green gowns as follows: 2 to 3 coats of Black Forest Green, followed with 2 to 3 coats of Sherwood Green. Highlight with 2 to 3 coats of Victorian Green. Drybrush the red gowns as follows: 2 to 3 coats of Burgundy, followed with 3 to 4 coats of Christmas Red. Drybrush the yellow gowns with 3 to 4 coats of Marigold Yellow, followed with 2 coats of Blond. Highlight with 2 coats of Vanilla. Drybrush the manger hay with 3 coats of Walnut, 2 coats of Medium Brown and 3 coats of Country Gold. Highlight lightly with Vanilla. Rebasecoat the angel s banners, and hair if necessary with Deep Brown. Drybrush the baby s blanket, all banners, and wings of the Angel Lights with 2 coats of Walnut. With a clean brush continue with 3 coats of Vanilla, followed with 2 coats of White. Drybrush the angel s hair with 2 coats of Black. Drybrush the sm. angel s eyelids lightly with a Royal Purple and Night Blue mix. PAINT: All eyes using Walnut for the irises. If desired, paint fine lines for the eyebrows using Black.

FINISH: Gently clean off the gold and glazed areas with a damp paper towel. WHITE ANGELS 2143 Three Angel Heads 2144 Angel Light Top 2145 Angel Light Bottom OPAQUE STAINS: Burgundy, Christmas Red, Sherwood Green, Blond, Flesh, Electric Blue, Vanilla, White, and Peach Blush. TRANSLUCENTS: Rose, Red and Flesh GLAZE: Clear Glaze OVERGLAZE: Hanovia Liquid Bright Gold SPECIALTIES: Gloss Sealer MISC: Dish Soap PREPARATION: While the greenware is still damp cut out the star design and the wings and halo as desired. Cut out a hole in the areas to be attached so the candle light will be able to show through the halos. Attach the angel s heads. Clean the greenware and fire to cone 05. GLAZE: Apply 3 coats of Clear Glaze to all the areas you desire gold, and to the inside of the angels. Fire to cone 06. OVERGLAZE: Apply Liquid Bright Gold to all glazed areas. We applied the gold to the inside area of the wings, the rest of the gown we left Clear Glaze. Fire to cone 017. PAINT: Apply a coat of dish soap to all gold and glazed areas. This will ease the removal of the opaque stain from the gold and glazed areas when the piece is completed. BASECOAT: The gown Burgundy, the hair Blond, the flesh areas with Flesh and the wings with Vanilla. OVERPAINT: PLEASE REFER TO OVERPAINT INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BLACK ANGELS. OVER PAINT ENTIRE ANGELS INCLUDING THEIR HEADS. DRYBRUSH: Drybrush the gowns with 3 coats of Burgundy, followed with 2 coats of Christmas Red added to your brush. Drybrush the flesh with 3 coats of Flesh. Blush the cheeks lightly with Peach Blush. Drybrush the hair with 2 to 3 coats of Blond and highlight with 2 coats of Vanilla. The wings are drybrushed with 3 coats of Vanilla, followed with 2 to 3 coats of White. If desired, paint the insides of the sleeves and the holly trim with Sherwood Green. PAINT: All eyes. The irises are Electric Blue. The lips are lightly painted with a 1:1:1 mix of Rose, Red and flesh. If the lips are to bright, gently dab with a tissue. The eyebrows are painted with very fine lines of Medium Brown. FINISH: Gently wipe the paint off the gold and glazed areas with a damp paper towel. Opaque Stains by Scioto
