Pain Free Pursuits More than 12 million Americans 65 and older have osteoarthritis. This is the wear and tear type of arthritis that comes from using your joints over and over. And this customer group is growing fast as our populations ages. Arthritis can limit this population from participating in the things they love most. Whether they want to garden, knit, craft, or cook, or solve everyday problems. It is our mission at Life Solutions, Inc to simplify the difficult or repetitive actions made harder by arthritis. This allows our customers to live with less stress on their bodies. We do not want joint pain to rob them of this special moment in their lives, when they can make truly significant contributions to the world. We need ideas for products & services that make difficult or repetitive tasks easier for customers who suffer from joint pain. Not interested in products or services specifically related to physical therapy To grow staff, we need ideas that increase revenue by 20%, but right now we have three staff with expertise in operations & product development. - Products that enable hobbies; gardening, cooking, sewing - Products that enable customers to remain in the workforce longer - Educational products; e-books, digital classes related to the mission
Reducing the impact of natural disasters. It's expected that natural disasters will start being more severe in the future and cause more damage to communities. With the possibility of worse storms coming our current methods of support will become less effective leading to more damage, deaths, and long term suffering of those affected. Our mission as a company is to help as many people as possible, to keep doing this we need new ideas for how to provide support in a changing landscape. We need ideas for reducing the short and long term effects of natural disasters around the world. We aren't interested in fundraiser ideas or ways to make money. We are not interested in cleaning up after chemical spills or nuclear power plant disasters. We can t break any international laws. We must be able to develop the ideas for less than $500,000 USD (implementation can exceed the budget). 1. Methods of reducing the effect of disasters before they happen. 2. Ways to improve the recovery effort after the disaster has happened.
Dollars and Scents Research has shown that scent can be connected to memory, mood, and even influence behavior. Our interior design firm is determined to capitalize on this concept by providing a service to our retail and hospitality clients that includes custom scent design. We believe that this will make our design firm Meaningfully Unique and will provide a larger benefit for our customers. However, we have no idea how to do this. We ve heard of pumping perfume through air vents to provide atmosphere, but we are interested in using scent to make a real difference relative to our client s goals. We need ideas for interior design offerings that use scent to increase customer conversion in a retail or hospitality setting We are not interested in gimmicks, over powering smells or Willy Wonka like experiences - scent is most powerful when used subtlety. We will not be hiring specialists at the point, and will need to partner with outside experts for r&d and testing. - Technologies for embedding scent in to things. - Scents transitions to provide different experiences. - Research to support our increase sales claim.
Helping our Customers with Health Obesity is an issue affecting people of all ages and incomes, everywhere. Obesity is preventable, we believe, with education and availability of healthy food options. It is time to take responsibility for our customers health and do our part to help them make smarter choices. Customer come to our restaurant to enjoy our signature dishes, such as, hamburgers, french fries and milkshakes. These foods are high in sodium, sugar and fat. And though we offer healthier menu items, these items are not our best sellers. If we do not change what we serve and the way we serve it, our customers may eventually suffer the long term affects of a high fat diet including heart disease, high blood pressure or diabetes. And for those customers who do seek healthier options, they will go someplace else. We need ideas for helping our customers make healthy choices We are not interested in removing our signature hamburgers, french fries, or milkshakes. We would like to have a steady stream of new launches in 2016, at least one per quarter. That means innovations will need to go to test market within 6 months. - Ways to educate customers to help them make smarter choices - New, healthier offerings that taste delicious - Methods for making our signature dishes more healthy without compromising flavor
Student Attendence As the internet has become more accessible online universities have become more prominent and recognized. One of the major differences between us and an online university is the classroom dynamics and interactions that you get in face-to-face meetings with a professor. These meetings give students the ability to get personalized learning and a more personalized experience than if they did everything online. Despite this benefit, our classroom attendance has been dropping over the years diminishing the advantage that we offer over cheaper online universities. If we can t find a way to reverse this trend, we won t have a dramatic difference compared to online universities nor will students s learning experience be as rich. We need ideas to increase the number of academically significant face to face interactions between a student and his/her peers and professors. We are not interested in ideas that simply suggest online courses We don t have the budget to renovate or build new buildings. We have to work with the classrooms that we have now. We re can t fire teachers; we have to work with the ones we currently have. 1) Classroom designs that make coming to class more valuable. 2) Technology that can enhance our face to face meetings. 3) Ways to leverage our uniqueness outside of the classroom.
