TRANSLUCENT STAIN: Tan Sparkle, S-20 Red Brown and S-18 Brown GLAZE: Clear Glaze OVERGLAZE: Hanovia Bright Gold PREPARATION: After removing Jesus cross from mold, cut out round circles where indicated to fit votive cups. Clean cross and make sure the votive cups fit properly before firing, or after removing casts from mold slip attach votive cups into cross. Clean greenware and fire to cone 04. GLAZE: Votive cups with clear glaze, fire to cone 06. Apply gold overglaze to the votive cups and fire to cone 017. BASECOAT: Basecoat boy doctor s flesh only with Chocolate Fudge. All other pieces with Chocolate Fudge. NOTE: After drybrushing boy doctor s flesh, basecoat his areas as follows: Scrubs with 1:1 mix of Medium Blue and Light Turquoise. Lab coat and base with Ivory, shoes with Ash and chart with Silver. Antique these area s with Tan Sparkle, wipe off with a soft cloth. Drybrush doctor s scrubs with the blue/turquoise mix with 2 coats, highlight with Ivory added to your brush. Drybrush lab coat and base with 2 to 3 coats of Ivory followed with 2 to 3 coats of White. Drybrush shoes with Ash. DRYBRUSH: All flesh, girls dancers skirt and dress and white clothing and tile areas with 2 to 3 coats of Saddle Brown, for lighter flesh add Medium Brown to your brush and apply 1 to 2 coats to the flesh areas. Blush Jesus cheeks lightly with Creole Spice. Blush children s cheeks Burgundy. Continue girls dancers skirt and dress with 3 to 4 coats of Butterscotch followed with 2 coats of Oriental Flesh added to your brush, highlight with a coat of Ivory. Drybrush white clothing and tile areas with 2 to 3 coats of Ivory followed with 3 to 4 coats of White. 1

REBASECOAT: Areas that have been over drybrushed with White, with Chocolate Fudge. DRYBRUSH: Basketball player s tee shirt and shorts, and Jesus Cross with 2 coats of Grape. Continue with 1 to 2 coats of Concord, highlight basketball player s tee shirt with White added to your brush. Highlight around Jesus head by slowly adding more and more White to your brush. Drybrush Jasmine s top and headband with 2 to 3 coats of Curry followed with 2 coats of Gold. REBASECOAT: Jesus hair and beard, and children s hair if necessary with Chocolate Fudge. DRYBRUSH: Basketball with 2 coats of Clove followed with 1 to 2 coats of Burnt Orange. Drybrush Girl doctor s chart with Silver, her pants and blue tiles with 2 coats of Black Iris. Drybrush tiles with Navy followed with White added to your brush to highlight. Drybrush hair and beard with Black. Add a small amount of White to your brush and drybrush Jesus s hair and beard. Drybrush girl doctor s base with Antique Gold. PAINT: Eyes, using Saddle Brown for the irises. Paint lips using Creole Spice or Burgundy. Paint teeth using Ivory. Paint stethoscopes with black, accent with Silver. Paint doctors pens with Antique Gold. Paint animal print to dancers clothing if desired using Medium Brown and Black. Paint lips on Jesus with a mix of Red Brown and Brown translucent stain, apply and dab off lightly. Paint hand wound with Red Brown, dab off gently with a soft cloth. LION FAMILY MOLD NUMBER 2478 Lion Family 5.75 T, 6 L & 3 T $40.00 OPAQUE STAINS: Black Brown, Saddle Brown, Medium Brown, Butterscotch, Ivory, White, Peach and Black. BASECOAT: Basecoat bisque with Black Brown. DRYBRUSH: As follows: 2 to 3 coats of Saddle Brown, 2 coats of Medium Brown, 2 to 3 coats of Butterscotch. Highlight with Ivory added to your brush. Continue to highlight lighter areas such as chest and muzzle area with Ivory and then White. Blush cheeks lightly with Peach. Drybrush tips of tails with Black Brown. PAINT: Eyes using Butterscotch for the irises. Paint noses with Black Brown. Drybrush noses with Saddle Brown and Peach mixed. OPAQUE STAINS: Gold, Ivory, Grey, Chocolate Fudge, Saddle Brown, Butterscotch, Oriental Flesh, Native Flesh, Light Brown and White. TRANSLUCENT STAINS: Tan Sparkle, S-18 Brown, S-20 Red Brown and S-13 Flesh. GLAZE: Clear Glaze OVERGLAZE: Hanovia Bright Gold PREPARATION: After removing cast from the mold cut out holes for the votive cups. Votive cups can be slipped attached or left unattached. Before firing make sure unattached votive cups fit into cross. Fire to cone 04. GLAZE: Glaze votive cups using Clear Glaze, fire to cone 06. Apply Bright Gold Overglaze to votive cups and fire to cone 017. BASECOAT: 1:1 mix of Gold and Ivory to cross. 2:1 mix of Native Flesh and Light Brown to flesh areas, Grey to clothing and Chocolate Fudge to hair and beard. ANTIQUE: Entire cross with Tan Sparkle, wipe off excess with a soft cloth. DRYBRUSH: Flesh with flesh mixture, highlight with Native Flesh and then lightly highlight with Ivory added to your brush. Drybrush clothing with 1 to 2 coats of Grey followed with 3 to 4 coats of White. ANTIQUE: 1:2 mix of S-18 Brown and S-13 Flesh and apply to Jesus flesh areas, carefully wipe off excess with a soft cloth. REBASECOAT: Hair and Beard with Chocolate Fudge. DRYBRUSH: Hair and Beard with Saddle Brown followed with Medium Brown and Butterscotch, highlight lightly with Oriental Flesh added to your brush. Drybrush cross with 2 coats of the Gold mix, adding Ivory to your mix begin to lighten around Jesus s head. Using more Ivory and then White, slowly blend as shown. ANTIQUE: Using 1:2 mix of S-18 Brown and S-20 Red Brown, apply to lips. Apply Red Brown to hand wound. Using a soft cloth lightly dab lips and wound. STUMP BOXES AND LIDS 2484 Stump Box 10.50 L x 4.25 T $48.00 2483 Heart and Shamrock Stump Box Lids 4 L $24.00 OPAQUE STAINS: Black Brown, Saddle Brown, Butterscotch, Ivory, White, Charcoal, Ash, Olive Moss, Christmas Green, Bright Green, Medium Green, Lemon Peel, Candy Apple Red, Magenta, Bright Red and Black. GLAZE: Slate Grey River Rock glaze. PREPARATION: After removing cast from mold, cut out the large stump to use as a box. Place lid on to check for fit. Clean greenware and fire to cone 04. Glaze inside of box and lids using Slate Grey River Rock glaze. Fire to cone 06. BASECOAT: All pieces with Black Brown. 3

DRYBRUSH: Grey areas of the stump and lids as follows: 2 coats of Charcoal followed with 2 coats of Ash continue with 2 highlight coats of Grey, highlight with White added to your brush. REBASECOAT: Shamrock and heart with Chocolate Fudge, and the brown area of stump box with Black Brown. DRYBRUSH: Drybrush brown area of the stump box with 2 coats of Saddle Brown followed with 2 coats of Butterscotch, add Ivory to your brush and apply 2 highlight coats. To shamrock apply as follows: 2 coats of Olive Moss followed with Christmas Green, Bright Green and Medium Green. Drybrush heart with Candy Apple Red followed with Magenta. APPLY GREEN WASH: Mix 1:1 Lemon Peel and Medium Green, add three parts water and mix well. This mixture should be opaque but very watery. Apply to items over a sink with the water running. Apply the paint mixture full strength using a fan brush. Using your fan brush, retrieve water from the running tap and apply on top of the green mixture adding more water and more paint as your move along the piece. The water and paint should flow freely. Apply to lids avoiding heart and shamrock. Allow to dry undisturbed. Clean up inside of box and lids with a damp cloth. PAINT: Lady Bug with Bright Red and Black. Blush bears cheeks with Peach added to your brush. Continue white areas with 2 to 3 coats of Ivory followed with 2 to 3 coats of White. Drybrush green areas with 2 coats of Olive Moss followed with the following greens in the order given. Christmas Green, Bright Green and Medium Green. Add Ivory to your brush for lighter green areas. Drybrush yellow sign with 2 coats of Curry followed with 1 to 2 coats of Dark Yellow, adding Ivory, apply 2 more coats. Drybrush red and pink areas with 2 coats of Real Red. Drybrush red and pink areas of Cupid for Hire with 2 coats of Bright Red, add Ivory to your brush and drybrush the pink areas. Drybrush Magenta to the pink areas of the stump box cupid bear. 4

PAINT: Lady bugs using Bright Red and Black. Paint buckles using Solid Gold. Paint eyes, noses and eyelashes. Use Bright Blue for the irises. Paint words on signs. Highlight noses with Charcoal. BASECOAT: Basecoat color to areas as follows Avocado frog, White hat trim, candy cane and thought bubble. Fire Thorn to red areas. Bright Orange orange bulb. Northern Blue - blue bulb. Curry yellow bulb. Magenta pink bulb. Concord purple bulb. Holly Green light cord. ANTIQUE: Using Tan Sparkle, wipe off excess with a soft cloth. DRYBRUSH: Frog with 2 to 3 coats of Avocado followed with Ivory added to your brush. Drybrush red areas with 2 coats of Fire Thorn followed with2 to 3 coats of Bright Red. Drybrush white areas with 3 to 4 coats of White. Drybrush yellow bulb with Curry followed with Dark Yellow and then White. Drybrush all other areas with the original basecoat color, adding white to your brush to highlight. PAINT: Eyes using Bright Blue for the irises. Paint black to thought bubble. Paint Silver to center round area of bulbs. FINISH: Glue in large globe lights and hook up with electrical. Color by Duncan S-13, S-18 and S-20 Translucents by Fash-en-hue Bright Gold by Hanovia 5
