Preparation: Sand with fine sandpaper until smooth. Wipe with a tack cloth to remove any remaining dust. Seal with sealer using an old brush, sand, and wipe again. Base the entire piece with Banana Cream. 1
Load the dot Foam Texture Stamp with Navy Blue and randomly stamp the frame, dry brush Navy Blue onto the corners of the frame. Thin Santa Red down to a thin transparent consistency and wash over the entire frame. Once dry sand the frame to distress, you will see some of the yellow from your base coat. Transfer the line separating the floor from the wall and dry rub Milk Chocolate onto the floor and dry rub Honey Brown to highlight. Float shade where the wall and floor meet with Asphaltum. Dry rub Light Buttermilk randomly onto the yellow wall. Transfer the design and float shade around the elements on the wall with Honey Brown and on the floor with Asphaltum. Painting Instructions: Base the chalk board frame and chalk tray with Honey Brown, dry brush highlight with Light Buttermilk, and shade with Milk Chocolate and deepen with Asphaltum. Base the chalkboard and the alphabet with a mix of Navy Blue and Yellow Green, mix both paint colors until you achieve a blue green mix that you are satisfied with. Dry brush the chalkboard and alphabet with Light Buttermilk. Outline the letters, numbers, chalk on the tray, and cat with Snow White. Base the Classroom Rules Chart with Lavender and Snow White in the center. Float shade the purple chart with Payne s Grey and dry brush highlight with Electric Pink. Float shade the white center with Payne s Grey, outline the numbers and words with thinned down Payne s Grey. Base the tomato with Santa Red and the stem with Hauser Dark Green. Base the girl with Snow White as an undercoat. Base every other flag on the Welcome Banner with Olive Green, float shade with Hauser Dark Green, and dry brush highlight with Yellow Green. Base the remainder of the flags with 2
Santa Red, shade with Napa Red and dry brush highlight with Electric Pink. Base the face, neck, and arms with Hi-Lite Flesh, shade with Shading Flesh, and dry brush highlight with Light Buttermilk. Using a circular motion dry brush the cheeks with Electric Pink and paint the inside of the mouth with Electric Pink. Using a stylus dip dot the eyes with Lamp Black and dot a highlight with Snow White. Base the blouse with Lavender, shade with a glaze float of Payne s Grey, highlight with Electric Pink. Dip dot the buttons on the blouse with Electric Pink. Base the dress with Santa Red, shade with a glaze float of Payne s Grey, dry brush highlight with Electric Pink. Base the patches with Olive Green and line with Napa Red. Leave the lace at the bottom of the dress and the socks the white undercoat. Dip dot the lace with Santa Red and line the socks with Santa Red. Glaze float the socks and lace with Payne s Grey. Base the shoes with Lamp Black, using a SL line the laces on the shoes with Snow White. Base the hair with Burnt Sienna, using a liner brush line the following paint colors onto the hair allowing each previous color to show: Honey Brown, Napa Red, and Electric Pink. Base the hair ties with Lavender and highlight with Electric Pink. Base the book on the floor with Lavender, float shade with Payne s Grey and dry brush highlight with Electric Pink. Base the paper with Snow White, float shade with a glaze float of Payne s Grey and line the paper with Payne s Grey. Base the lunch bag with Olive Green, shade with Hauser Dark Green and dry brush highlight with Yellow Green. 3 Finishing: Cut the poem out of old book papers, the newspaper, or you may print them out on your
computer and Decou-Page them to the front of the piece. Using the IdentiPen Black, line the detail on the banner, lunch bag, book, Classroom Rules Chart, facial details, and dress. Reduce or enlarge depending on your preference. School is adventure poetry To enlighten, You 4
