Ncube (ZAM) The meeting observed a minute of silence in honour of Ahmed Labib and Esam Ali Ahmed, a coach and a player from Egypt, who passed away after representing their country at the 8 th All Africa Games in Abuja, Nigeria. Corrections of Minutes of the 73 rd FIDE Congress African Continental Assembly (Annex 55) were made as follows: Page 3: "Lewis Neube shall read L. Ncube" Page 4: "Zone 4.2 President shall read L. Njenga (KEN) instead of T. Caiafas (NIG)" Page 5: "Zone 4.3 President should read L. Ncube (ZAM) and not K. Tsega (ETH)" Libya will host the 2003 Africa Junior Chess Championship stating 20 th December 2003 in Tripoli. The establishment of chess centers would start with the Libyan Chess Center in Tripoli on 7 th February 2004. Other centers will be subject to investigations by the respective Zonal Presidents. The Tournament Calendar for 2004 was unveiled with the highlight being as follows: i 2004 African Junior Championship to be held in Zambia ii 2004 African Youth Championships to be held in South Africa A bid for the hosting of the 2005 Africa Individual Championship was received from Zambia. The main development programs for 2004/2005 centered on trainer and coaching clinics. The Continental President informed the meeting that the University of Texas scholarship program was going according to the schedule advised by the CACDEC Committee. The Continental President confirmed that the setting up of a website for the African Chess Union was being finalized. Each Federation will be required to contribute to the news and tournament reports sections so that the Continent's Federations are aware of each other's activities. Mr. Kagambi of Kenya raised an issue regarding the procedure for awarding of International Arbiter titles.

(page 3/9) Mr. Tabbane and Mr. Mazouz clarified the procedure for obtaining the International Arbiter titles. Mr. Mazouz proposed that during each Olympiad year Congress the Continental meeting should take the form of a General Assembly. Whilst Continental Board meetings will be held during the non-olympiad year Congress. This proposal was accepted by the meeting. Elhaj Eli Nizar Continental President
