Once in a great while something musical comes along that s like a breath of fresh air on a hot and humid summer day. This musical breath of fresh air comes to us in the persons of Chris and Taylor, The Malpass Brothers. Born and reared in Goldsboro, NC, the brothers were introduced to country music through the record collection of their grandfather. They developed a love and passion for it that has surfaced in their performances of today. Although Chris is only 28 and Taylor 25, they have the heart and soul of the singers one could have heard in 1950. I believe that good music, regardless of genre, is timeless and should never be put into a capsule, sealed away only to be heard by a select few. Having said this, I honestly think the twelve songs presented here are just that. If you love the sounds of Bill Anderson, Marty Robbins, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams and The Louvin Brothers, you will love the work on this album by The Malpass Brothers. Though these songs are both new and classic, they are interwoven seamlessly as though all of them were written in the same time frame and each one fits Chris and Taylor like a glove. Their powerful emotional delivery shines through like a lighthouse beacon on a foggy night. Timeless is when the past is the future and the future is the past. The Malpass Brothers sound is timeless. Listen! And you ll see what I mean. ~Doyle Lawson There are so many people to thank, we don t know where to start. For our family, who has given so much of their time and talents to advance our musical career; to all our friends and fans without whom there would be no reason to do what we love; to our musical heroes, Merle Haggard, Don Helms and Clyde Mattocks who have taught lessons on life, love and the road; to Doyle Lawson for his friendship and for believing in us and our music enough to introduce us to our great team at Organic Records; to the expert studio musicians and the masterful engineer with whom we hope to make more musical memories; we tip our hats to you all! Mr. Doyle, thank you for being willing to take two young country boys under your generous wings! We are beyond honored that you have produced our first project with Organic Records. We hope we make you proud! ~Christopher and Taylor
