Captain Energy C This original Captain Energy body of work was designed to be presented at the 1982 World s Fair Energy Expo in Knoxville, Tenn., for the purpose of obtaining license for educational and commercial market products. The character concepts along with the original graphic and product prototype work were presented to the director s committee for Merchandise Concessions License. Captain Energy 2006 - Page

CAPTAIN ENERGY Notes from sketch illustrations & design direction: aptain Energy could be C simply a super hero who just helps society cope with energy problems. Suddenly, with General Waste exploding onto the scene, Cap is put into a head-to-head battle with him, and he meets Fossil Man & Nuke in the meantime to help form the Energy Forces. No reason to explain the why or where of Captain Energy. Treat his existence as he always was here (baseball, apple pie, Captain Energy). Later on down the road, set out an Origin of Captain Energy story. One way to approach the educational side of Capt. Energy s story would be to do with energy. Just a good guy verses the bad guys story. However, in certain spots, throw in a light educational fact. Maybe Nuke explaining a fact to Fossil Man; Cap explaining why they carpool or something. I would stay away from anything to heavy like the reason for nuclear fusion is why two atoms are split, etc. Captain Energy 2006 Page 8

NUKE COSMOS Notes from sketch illustrations and design direction: Top of helmet is lined with holes that shoot an oxygen mixture down over top of face allowing Nuke to breathe in space. His solar jetpack is equipped with a radio transmissions are picked up on receivers on both sides of helmet over ears. When Nuke Cosmos met Captain Energy and joined the Energy Forces, he received his Energy Force Badge, which he wears proudly. Nuke Cosmos wears a standard uniform of some sort of future armed forces of another galaxy (thus the name on chest). Nuke drove his space ship by earth and met Captain Energy or something/or earth is his assignment. He doesn t necessarily have to be from the future maybe just the same time period but a more advanced planet in space. Nuke reports to his leader the problems and the answer earth received in latest adventure. Nuke could call into his home planet and plug into computers for help in tough situations. B eing from the future, Nuke s civilization knows much more advanced types of energy or how to use it better or something. However, being a galactic space cadet or whatever, his military ranking was or is, he has taken a vow not to disturb the natural progress of civilizations (Star Trek Code). However, he can be helpful such as helping earth use energy resources more efficiently or tapping other resources more fully. Basically, he just can t give any advanced information, such as how his solar jetpack is used, to earth. It must come about and discover these things on her own! (His whole planet is run on solar cells.) Captain Energy 2006 - Page 11
General Waste & his Waste Invaders GENERAL WASTE Notes from sketch illustrations and design direction: General Waste could be from Nuke s planet and the reason why Nuke came to earth and joined Captain Energy (in search of General Waste). That could explain, as well, General Waste s bizarre creatures that compose the Waste Invader Force. However, General Waste would be first and foremost Captain Energy s problem, not allowing Nuke to take a more dominant position than Captain Energy. Being an outlaw on his planet, General Waste has fled to earth to hide from Nuke or justice or whatever. On his way to earth, he passed through a time warp, which put him on earth, but in prehistoric times. Captain Energy 2006 - Page 12
FOSSIL MAN Notes from sketch illustrations and design direction: Before General Waste took off from this pre-historic jungle, Fossil Man and his saber tooth tiger had wandered onto his ship and gotten accidentally locked in a holding room. That s how Fossil Man and Max got to the future. They meet Captain Energy somehow and also join the Energy Forces. Captain gives him his energy forces badge, which he uses to keep his wolf-skin cape together. Fossil Man could have acquired a vast amount of knowledge by as he wondered ignorantly around the ship he put a helmet on his head that was hooked to a computer that fed all earth 1980 info into his brain. (The computer was set on earth 1980 because General Waste was using it beforehand to choose a place to go.) Alternate story line: Fossil Man could not know anything and Captain Energy could explain things to him. His attitude: Gosh, I can t believe people waste so much energy. Now in my time.. Molly Kule MOLLY KULE Notes from sketch illustrations and design direction: Molly Kule is from a small race of people on Nuke s sister planet that make great ship co-pilots. We need Molly Kule to have the ability to change to molecular size when she is doing any kind of molecular investigation or work for Capt. Energy. Clever and super intelligent with all the physical assets of a modern-day pixy, Molly Kule will champion the good causes for Captain Energy.
