ACKNOWLEDGEMENT We are gladly & thankful to Our Director Dr.Sureja, Principal Prof.B.M.Garala and Head of the Department Prof.A.G.Makati and our faculties who give us a great supports and guidance regarding industrial visit and instruct us the importance of industrial visit in engineering field. So we decided to take visit our 5 th semester Diploma student in Amtech engineeringrajkot. Under subject of industrial engineering and manufacturing engineering. We are especially thankful to HR manger of Amtech who give introduction about company and provide all technical details of production.
OVERVIEW OF TRIP: Om institute of engineering and technology had organized an industrial visit on 16 September 2017 to BHAVNI FORGE PVT. LTD located at Rajkot, for student of diploma 5 th sem. DETAILS OF JOURNEY We started travelling from the college campus at 7 :30 via our bus on 16 SEP 2017 along with our students and faculties members. We reached to the AMTECH INVESTMENT CASTING PVT LTD. premises at RAJKOT with in a few HOURS. At the very beginning of our visit we met Mr. Manish Bhalala at the entrance of the main gate who is working for AMTECH As Production manager.
Company profile: Amtech is a cool cause of investment castings. Amtech oversight is strategically focused to customers and oriented to processes as per ISO 9001:2008, PED 9723-EC, IBR (Indian Boiler Regulation) principles, thanks to our needful right to warrant customer pride because competence in technology, quality, innovation and on-time deliveries through our Investment Casting process. We are completely capable of servicing 'leading edge' customer requirements. We are a much focused 'leading edge' engineering group providing cost effective solutions to technically highly complex and demanding applications in every area of our expertise. Amtech specializes in the lead to of investment castings to fixed customers requirements in all predilection melted alloys including culminating Carbon Steels, Stainless Steel, Ni base Alloys (Inconels, Monel, CZ 100), Co base alloys and wear resistant alloys and non ferrous alloys. Amtech holdings have pass on out to creatively make active an operation of unique Materials Process Engineering to produce cast parts exclusively for Corrosion / Chemcial Industry, Pharmacuital Industry, Marine, Defence, Food, Beverages, Buliding Hardware / Space Frame, Process Engineering etc., using tightly controlled repeatable manufacturing methods. Amtech provides "NetShape" castings that reduce or eliminate worthwhile lesser processing. Forgings, weldments, and sand castings are routinely converted to the investment casting process to put up one's say and direction while providing a more repeatable and functionally acceptable part with improved aesthetic value.

Manufacturing process of Forgine Part: Investment casting is an industrial process based on lost-wax casting, one of the oldest known metal-forming techniques. The term "lost-wax casting" can also refer to modern investment casting processes. Investment casting has been used in various forms for the last 5,000 years. In its earliest forms, beeswax was used to form patterns necessary for the casting process. Today, more advanced waxes, refractory materials and specialist alloys are typically used for making patterns. Investment casting is valued for its ability to produce components with accuracy, repeatability, versatility and integrity in a variety of metals and high-performance alloys. The fragile wax patterns must withstand forces encountered during the mold making. Much of the wax used in investment casting can be reclaimed and reused. Lost-foam casting is a modern form of investment casting that eliminates certain steps in the process. Investment casting derives its name from the pattern being invested (surrounded) with a refractory material. Many materials are suitable for investment casting; examples are stainless steel alloys, brass, aluminum, carbon steel and glass. The material is poured into a cavity in a refractory material that is an exact duplicate of the desired part. Due to the hardness of refractory materials used, investment casting can produce products with exceptional surface qualities, which can reduce the need for secondary machine processes..
QUALITY CONTROL Online Sampling Chemical and Mechanical Laboratories Heat Treating Design Assistance Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT Level II approved inspector in RT, UT, MPT and LPT) Technical Assistance they operate a modern, fully staffed laboratory equipped with the latest equipment to verify that all incoming as well as finished products are as per specifications. We do online checks of every heat of molten metal meets our customers requirements. We also checks Tensile property, Hardness, Impact, Casting Soundness (Dye Penetrate, Magnetic Particle, Radiography Test) etc. they also do have all the in house facilities to checks all incoming raw material like Waxes, Colloidal Silica, Ceramic Stuco, Zr Sand, Zr. Flour. In same we do test like Sp. Gravity, Gelling Test, Scratch Test, Sieve Analysis, Ph, Viscosity, Ash Content etc.from the testing of incoming metals and the control of alloys, to constant manufacturing controls and non-destructive testing, every step of the investment casting process is closely monitored and recorded as per ISO 9001 systems.our process ensures the production of world class precision investment castings for our valued customer.
SUMMARY : It was a very good experience. it nice to see practically which student learn in form of theory. They had question and answer session after their manufacturing division visit. The students were also served refreshments. The visit was very useful for students as they understood very well about the manufacturing process of various automotive parts widely used in two wheelers, turbines, railway, power plant.
