Let me be the first to congratulate you! You ve made the decision to change your life and you ve taken action towards making that happen. I am so proud of you and excited to witness your transformation! Right now, you are at a crossroad between wanting to do something and actually doing it. This workbook can be your bridge to get you from where you are to where you want to be. If you commit to doing each exercise, these next five days will be transformational! Are you ready to make this year your year? Yes? Well then let s get started! Dream with a Deadline is the final, major part of the Dreamers that Do campaign I created to help people just like you get started on the path to accomplishing their dreams. The first part, Ignite Your Dreams, is a set of worksheets to help you declutter your mind and begin to figure out what the life of your dreams looks like. If you haven t completed these worksheets you can download them here. This workbook includes your 5-day challenge, a bonus Life Wheel (to help you get started), and an extra, surprise bonus after the second day. Each section is split up into three parts. The first is an introduction to the exercise along with an example from either myself or one of the members of my fantastic team (The Shores Team). Next, it will be your turn to complete the exercise, and finally, there is a reflections page after each exercise. Feel free to use the Reflections page for whatever you want. You can write about what you took away from the exercise, any ideas you have for your plans going forward, you can make doodles on the page to help you think, or anything else you can think of. Reflecting is a key to moving forward! Focusing on what you ve learned will help you set goals and take action. Throughout the week, you ll see that each exercise also has a request to post something in our exclusive Facebook group, Fearless Ambition specially created for this workbook. Don t be shy! Sharing with other like-minded people will expedite your growth exponentially. It will hold you accountable and surround you with likeminded people. So, if you haven t already, go ahead and join the group by clicking here. Go ahead and introduce yourself. If you aren t sure what to say share one goal for this year and why this is finally time for you to change your life. Don t forget to interact! The most important thing is to make connections. Don t forget to comment on each day s main post and respond with encouragement or questions to your tribe. This is going to be a great ride and your new tribe can definitely help along the way! I wish you the best on your new journey! May all your dreams come true, Mary 3 Dream with a Deadline

YOUR LIFE WHEEL You ve probably seen this exercise (or something like it) before. It s pretty common, but we ve included it here because it s a really great way to make you aware of your level of satisfaction in each of the main areas of your life. Each section of the wheel represents that area of your life. Fill in each section of the circle up to the number that you feel best indicates how you feel about that area of your life. Each level is labeled 1-10 with 1 meaning it could use a lot of work and 10 meaning completely satisfied. Your level of satisfaction in each area can help you determine where you should focus your attention for improvements towards your whole life satisfaction. Summer s Example: Here s our first example from my team. As you can see, Summer has a few areas that are kind of on the low side. Now she can tell at a glance what areas she needs to focus on first. You ll see her wheel again in the couple of exercises and you should keep yours handy throughout the workbook, as well. 4 Dream with a Deadline

YOUR LIFE WHEEL Now it s your turn! Fill up each area of the wheel up to the number you feel satisfied. I recommend you fill the wheel in honestly. You don t have to show this to anyone and the results may surprise you. Make sure you fill this wheel out before you start Day One of the workbook, as you ll be referring to it a lot through the week. Hint: Your life wheel should look like it could roll easily on its own. If it s not even and have a sufficiently high number, you know that you may have found some areas to work on. What s the right number? That s something only you can know. #LifeWheel: If you haven t already, log in to the Facebook group and introduced yourself, next find the main post for the Life Wheel and share one area in Your Life Wheel that you would like to focus on improving. You can also create your own posts about this exercise. Just make sure to use #LifeWheel in your post so others can easily find it. Next leave at least one comment responding to someone s post, asking them a question, or encouraging them. Remember, this is your tribe and we re all here for each other! 5 Dream with a Deadline

YOUR LIFE WHEEL Reflection Answer the questions below for the lowest area on your #LifeWheel. You may go on to answer these for each area of the wheel in your own time. What is your lowest area? 1) Describe your current experience in that area. What does this area look like right now? 2) What is the consequence of this current experience in your life area? How does it impact you or others? 3) Describe how your experience would look if it were the ideal. Now is your chance to manifest! How do you WISH it was? Write it out exactly as you dream it! Feel free to use this space for whatever you want. You can write about what you took away from the exercise, any ideas you have for your plans going forward, you can make doodles on the page to help you think, or anything else you can think of. Sometimes we feel empty despite everything we have in life. In order to be more fulfilled, we need to bring all of the areas in our life into balance. ~ Mary Shores ~ 6 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 1: FIND YOUR FOCUS Sometimes it can be difficult to know exactly what we want in life. It s often so much easier to figure out what we don t want. This exercise is meant to help you determine what you want by writing the opposite of what you don t want. DON T WANT Stress at home with kids Overwhelm at work Unhealthy relationships Tax issues DO WANT Happy flowing family life Chores & homework done nightly Structure at work Defined procedures & organization Always moving projects forward The ability to discern red flags Deeper Connections Mutual support Taxes done correctly & paid on time My Example: This is an exercise I did to determine what I wanted in my romantic relationships, at work and at home. I was able to easily figure out what I did want by figuring out the opposite and writing it in the column on the right. 7 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 1: FIND YOUR FOCUS It s your turn! In the column on the left, list the four most stressful things in your life. These can be broad like overwhelm at work or specific like tax problems. Then write the opposite in the column on the right. You can refer back to the example on the previous page or post in the Facebook group if you need any help coming up with ideas. Hint: You can refer back to your Life Wheel to use examples from the areas you want to focus on to help bring your life into balance. DON T WANT DO WANT #DayOne: Now that you ve really started interacting with the Facebook group find the main post for Day One and share one thing today that you now know you want in your life. You can also create your own posts about this exercise. Just make sure to use #DayOne in your post so others can easily find it. Next leave at least one comment responding to someone s post, asking them a question, or encouraging them. Remember, this is your tribe and we re all here for each other! 8 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 1: FIND YOUR FOCUS Reflection Time for your #DayOne #FindYourFocus reflection! I m really excited about this one. Refer to your Find Your Focus chart and choose one of the items that you DO want. Choose the category in your life wheel that this want fits into. What was your number in that area? Go a little deeper! Focusing on the one thing you want, answer the questions below: 1) If it came true, what might it do for your life? 2) How would having it (your answer for #1) in your life impact you? 3) Let s dig even deeper If you had your answer in #2, how would your life be different? Feel free to use this space for whatever you want. You can write about what you took away from the exercise, any ideas you have for your plans going forward, you can make doodles on the page to help you think, or anything else you can think of. 9 Dream with a Deadline Discovering what you want can help you shift your choices and actions to connect you to your desires. ~ Mary Shores ~

DAY 2: UNRAVEL YOUR BELIEFS Often one of the most difficult things to do is figure out what beliefs you have that are holding you back. Don t worry though, I m about to show you one really easy way to figure out your barrier beliefs! This exercise is meant to help you find a common thread in your major trouble area. Afterwards you will also find a surprise bonus to help start changing your beliefs into ones that serve you. It all starts by asking yourself one question. WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WANT TO BE TRUE IN YOUR LIFE?: I want to have a closer relationship with my Dad. 3 REASONS WHY IT ISN T TRUE 3 REASONS WHY #1 IS AN OBSTACLE 1. We both have busy schedules A. We re required to schedule time 2. We live 3 hours apart B. Ignores invites and doesn t reply 3. Dad is remarried with younger children C. I Interrupt his schedule when I visit 3 REASONS WHY #2 IS AN OBSTACLE 3 REASONS WHY #3 IS AN OBSTACLE A. Doesn t want to invest time to make trip A. Don t fit in/not engaged B. Not worth the effort B. Resentment (remind him of Mom) C. No last minute visits because distance C. Unfair that he treats sisters different 3 COMMON BELIEFS FOUND IN THE OBSTACLES 1. I don t feel good enough 2. I don t feel important 3. I don t feel worth the effort Maghan s Example: Maghan, another awesome member of The Shores Team, did a wonderful job of being vulnerable with this exercise. It isn t always easy, but she was able to determine that common belief was her own worth or value. She was able to gain clarity and realize how logical her feelings/beliefs were. 10 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 2: UNRAVEL YOUR BELIEFS It s your turn! Time to determine the common beliefs that are barriers to your desires. Start by asking yourself the question, and don t forget to go to the next page when you ve finished. You can figure out your own ways to start helping yourself to change your negative barrier beliefs to ones that will connect you to the life you want. Hint: Your beliefs and feelings can be tied up together. Sorting out the facts and emotions will help you see your problems from a new perspective. ONE THING YOU WANT TO BE TRUE IN YOUR LIFE: 3 REASONS WHY IT ISN T TRUE 3 REASONS WHY #1 IS AN OBSTACLE 1. A. 2. B. 3. C. 3 REASONS WHY #2 IS AN OBSTACLE 3 REASONS WHY #3 IS AN OBSTACLE A. A. B. B. C. C. 3 COMMON BELIEFS FOUND IN THE OBSTACLES 1. 2. 3. #DayTwo: Find the main post in the Facebook group for Day Two and today share one thing from the exercise you feel comfortable telling other people. You can also create your own posts about this exercise. Just make sure to use #DayTwo in your post so others can easily find it. Next leave at least one comment responding to someone s post, asking them a question, or encouraging them. Remember, this is your tribe and we re all here for each other! 11 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 2: UNRAVEL YOUR BELIEFS Reflection You ll be happy to hear that these beliefs can be changed, It takes time and work on your part but don t lose heart! It all starts with creating new beliefs which will motivate you to make new choices and empower you with new patterns. 1) Can you identify a pattern of behavior that is a reflection of this belief? 2) How has having this pattern held you back from pursuing your dreams? 3) Can you describe an experience or challenge that is directly related to this belief or pattern of behavior? Feel free to use this space for whatever you want. You can write about what you took away from the exercise, any ideas you have for your plans going forward, you can make doodles on the page to help you think, or anything else you can think of. 12 Dream with a Deadline When you change your beliefs, you will change your life. ~ Mary Shores ~

BONUS: CREATE ROCKING AFFIRMATIONS Whether we realize it or not, the words we speak are what we are affirming for our lives. The words we use, whether they are our thoughts or spoken aloud, have a big impact on us. You create your own reality through self-talk and bring ideas to life, outside of your mind, through deliberate speech that aligns with your desires. Affirmations are declarations where you assert what you want to be true is true. They are how you begin to consciously direct your thoughts to create the life you want. To me, the words affirmations and goals both come from a place of desire. They demonstrate the feeling of wanting to achieve something and are tools used in creating a specific statement to affirm that achievement. The old adage is true: Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life. Through the creation and repetition of words or phrases, thoughts become a tool to reprogram our minds. We all have a daily practice of repeating affirmations and mantras, even if we might not realize it. We have built this daily practice over time and the more we capture our thoughts and re-choose a word or phrase to focus on, the more natural the practice becomes for us. In time, these new words and phrases will change who we are. Even I used to say things like Everything is such a struggle, and I m a mess. I would be very descriptive about it, saying that I felt as if every day, I was trying to walk down a set of stairs and someone was kicking them out from underneath me. I didn t just say it, I had to illustrate it and really articulate all the ways everything was a struggle and I was a mess. Before long, I realized this was only bringing more mess and struggle to my life. What I had to do was be deliberate about the things coming out of my mouth. I started saying instead, My life is easy and effortless. Sometimes it would be too hard for me to actually say the words, and so I would write it down instead. My life is easy and effortless. My life is easy. I have a life of joy. The more I did this, the more I started making decisions that would make that true, decisions in direct alignment with what I wanted. Continue to the next page to learn how to create rocking awesome affirmations! 13 Dream with a Deadline

3 STEPS TO CREATE ROCKING AFFIRMATIONS How to Create Rocking Affirmations Step 1: Start saying what you never want in your life, and say it with the emotional conviction of certainty. Keep them simple and accessible so that you don t freeze in the face of resistance. Examples: Release my fear of abandonment. Cleanse my fear of poverty. Cleanse my fear of loneliness. Step 2: Start repeating I AM statements. These are the most powerful words you can say because what you say after I AM will come looking for you. Examples: I am happy. I am loving. I am prosperous. Step 3: Dream of ways your life can and will look when you feel the way you want to feel. Say these statements as if the experiences and feelings have already arrived. Examples: I have everything I need. Love surrounds me. I trust myself to make the right decisions. Remember that for years and years, the thoughts you ve had circulated throughout your brain, creating neural networks making those patterns your natural default. The person you are today was conditioned by this repetition. By making your affirmations real and personal, you will make different choices to align yourself with your desires. Practicing them daily will reprogram your brain, creating new neural pathways, a new perspective, a host of new ideas and a path to experiences that will make your affirmations your new default. Keep going! You are getting closer to what it is that you truly desire. CREATE YOUR OWN ROCKING AFFIRMATIONS 14 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 3: YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT Think back to a time when you were having a bad day... sometimes we all feel down and lose our motivation. Mapping a ripple effect lets you see your impact and how people have impacted you. Often, even a simple act can eventually ripple out become a massive wave and alter the course of someone s day or even their life. Ripple effects open new doors, create new opportunities, introduce new people into our lives, or cause us to see the world differently. This can go a long way towards helping you feel better during those tough times. PERSON WHAT THEY DID THEIR RIPPLE EFFECT She has always been my biggest My confidence and my attitude are built My Mom supporter on the foundation she created My Husband Introduced me to a new game I met an entire new group of friends Mary Asked me to make a YouTube video I now have a completely different job which turned out to be my dream job PERSON WHAT YOU DID YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT Tiffany Introduced her to a friend She found a new job Denise Invited her to a workshop She found a new passion Andrew Supported his desire to move He went some place he had never been before and got out of his comfort zone Roxanne s Example: The Shores Team would not be complete without Roxanne. Initially Roxanne was having a little trouble with this exercise, but I reminded her to keep it simple and focus on the small acts and everything clicked into place. Roxanne was surprised by the size of some of the ripples she found. 15 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 3: YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT It s your turn! In the first set of boxes name as many people as you can who have impacted your life positively in the last 5 years. Next, write what they did and the ripple effects caused by their actions. In the second set of boxes name as many people as you can who YOU have impacted positively in the last 5 years. Next, write what you did and the ripple effect caused by your actions. Hint: It doesn t have to be a big thing. Remember, keep it simple! Even small acts can have huge outcomes. PERSON WHAT THEY DID THEIR RIPPLE EFFECT PERSON WHAT YOU DID YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT #DayThree: Day Three is done and you re more than half way finished! Find the main post in the Facebook group for Day Three and share one thing from your ripple effects column and the action that caused it. You can also create your own posts about this exercise. Just make sure to use #DayThree in your post so others can easily find it. Next leave at least one comment responding to someone s post, asking them a question, or encouraging them. Remember, this is your tribe and we re all here for each other! 16 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 3: YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT Reflection If this exercise is tough I put a couple of pro-tips in the video to help get you started. Just search the group for #DayThree! Once you re all finished it s time to reflect! 1) Can you identify a gift/skill you possess out of your ripples? 2) How could you use this gift/skill to serve the world? Bonus! Send a surprise message of gratitude to a person who was the cause of your ripple! Feel free to use this space for whatever you want. You can write about what you took away from the exercise, any ideas you have for your plans going forward, you can make doodles on the page to help you think, or anything else you can think of. Everything you do, big or small, bad or good, affects someone and it can warm your heart to see the positive impact you have. ~ Mary Shores ~ 17 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 4: YOUR MAGIC 8 You ve done a lot of work so far and now we re in the home stretch. Based on everything you ve learned about yourself and what you want for your life, it s time to make some BIG goals. This was one of the first things I did when I decided that it was time to change my life and all these years later I still use it often. You can refer back to your Life Wheel for this exercise because we re going to use the same categories in this exercise. In each area, we are going to write one major goal. Career: Health: Inspire measurable positive change Freedom from headaches Personal Growth: Spirituality: Self-Care: Gain clarity & direction Spend more time in nature Better work/life balance Romance/Significant Other: Friends & Family: Have a significant other with purpose & direction More positive relationships Finance: Be debt free Summer s Example Since she completed the Life Wheel at the beginning of the workbook Summer is going to be back with us for the last two examples. Keeping in mind what she wants to be more fulfilled in each area of her life Summer came up with 8 magical goals for herself. 18 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 4: YOUR MAGIC 8 It s your turn! Write down one goal for each of the 8 areas of your life. Each goal should feel so magical that even if just one of them happened, it would change your life forever! Hint: You can use your Life Wheel from the beginning of the workbook to help you if you get stuck! Career: Health: Personal Growth: Spirituality: Self-Care: Romance/Significant Other: Friends & Family: Finance: #DayFour: It s the second to last day and even if you can t see it yet you ve already made some big changes in your life. Find the main post in the Facebook group for Day Four and share one of your Magic 8 goals. You can also create your own posts about this exercise. Just make sure to use #DayFour in your post so others can easily find it. Next leave at least one comment responding to someone s post, asking them a question, or encouraging them. Remember, this is your tribe and we re all here for each other! 19 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 4: YOUR MAGIC 8 Reflection You ve done some amazing work! Let s check in with ourselves about how things are going. Take the time to sit back and look at all the progress you ve made since you started. You are a fantastic creation! 1) What actions have you taken or what have you been doing differently since you started? 2) How do you feel? Are you experiencing a renewed drive and momentum? 3) What differences are you noticing now in your environment that you didn t notice before? What new oportunities have you received? Feel free to use this space for whatever you want. You can write about what you took away from the exercise, any ideas you have for your plans going forward, you can make doodles on the page to help you think, or anything else you can think of. 20 Dream with a Deadline Just setting a goal makes it more likely to happen. ~ Mary Shores ~

DAY 5: MAGIC ACTION PLAN Here it is, the final exercise. Congrats! You ve already come a long way. I am so proud of you for sticking it out. You re now ready to create action plans based on your Magic 8 goals. First, we ll do one together. Choose one thing from your Magic 8 that you would like to make happen! Refer back to your Life Wheel to pick an area that needs your attention. YOUR 1 MAGIC ITEM: No more headaches 6 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO MAKE IT HAPPEN: CUT OUT CAFFEINE 1. Cut out caffeine 2. See a neurologist 3. Reduce screen time 4. Follow sleep schedule 5. Take more mind breaks every day 6. Drink more water A. Stop drinking energy drinks B. Replace drinks with water & tea C. Get enough sleep FOLLOW SLEEP SCHEDULE A. Set an alarm for bedtime B. Stop caffeine earlier C. Turn off screens 1 hour before bedtime DRINK MORE WATER A. Have a water bottle nearby B. Fill up water bottle as soon as it s empty C. Set reminder to drink every 30 minutes Summer s Example Summer broke down her goal of being headache free into a simple but detailed action plan because, for her, this one goal impacts all of the other areas of her life. 21 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 5: MAGIC ACTION PLAN It s your turn! Choose the most important item in your Magic 8 (you can make an action plan for each item later.) Next, write 6 things you can do to make your goal a reality. Then, break down 3 of these steps into smaller action items. At the end of this exercise you ll have a complete, simple, and detailed action plan. Hint: You can use the Magic Action Plan format to help you create a simple but detailed plan for absolutely anything. YOUR 1 MAGIC ITEM: 6 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO MAKE IT HAPPEN: 1-3 THINGS YOU CAN DO FROM #1 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. A. B. C. A. B. C. A, B. C. 1-3 THINGS YOU CAN DO FROM #2 1-3 THINGS YOU CAN DO FROM #3 #DayFive: Congratulations on completing your first Magic Action Plan! Find the main post in the Facebook group for Day Five and share one task from your plan and set a deadline for when you ll have it completed. You can also create your own posts about this exercise. Just make sure to use #DayFive in your post so others can easily find it. Next leave at least one comment responding to someone s post, asking them a question, or encouraging them. Remember, this is your tribe and we re all here for each other! 22 Dream with a Deadline

DAY 5: MAGIC ACTION PLAN Reflection I always say you MUST take action in the direction of your dreams! Once you put this plan into place you will begin to notice synchronicities pop up unexpectedly. This is great and a sure sign that the universe is on your side. Keep up the good work! 1) Did your Magic Action Plan contain things that would move your forward other areas of your #LifeWheel? 2) What would be the effect of taking immediate action large or small with the steps on your Magic Action Plan? 3) What barrier beliefs have gotten in the way of taking action in the past? Feel free to use this space for whatever you want. You can write about what you took away from the exercise, any ideas you have for your plans going forward, you can make doodles on the page to help you think, or anything else you can think of. 23 Dream with a Deadline Goals can be so big that they easily overwhelm you. Breaking them down into smaller manageable pieces makes it easy! ~ Mary Shores ~

YOUR NEXT STEPS (PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER) You ve come to the end of Dream with a Deadline. I m so excited for you! Now that you have found your focus, unraveled your beliefs, determined your ripple effects, and learned how to create an action plan, I am confident in your capability to take measurable action towards dreaming with a deadline. What s next? How can you take what you ve learned to the next level? Step 1: Keep interacting and posting in the Facebook group. This is how you stay accountable and keep yourself surrounded by like-minded DOERS. The importance of having a tribe can t be stressed enough. Step 2: Email us! When you get stuck, have questions, or need inspiration, The Shores Team is here to help! Step 3: Keep reading Fearless Ambition. My team and I only create and share blogs, advice, guests, and inspiration that we ve thoroughly tested and believe in completely.
