Task A You are about to move into a rented house with some friends. The landlord, Mr Hardacre, has asked you and your friends to sign a form to say that everything in the house is in good condition. However, when you go to check the house, you realise that not everything is in good condition. Your friend takes some photos as proof. You decide to write a letter to the landlord, describing the actual state of the house. Write a formal letter to the landlord. In your letter Explain who you are and why you are writing Say why you cannot sign the form you have been given Describe at least four things in the house that are in poor condition (e.g. carpets, wallpaper, cooker), saying what is wrong with them Offer to send the photos your friend took Request a new, accurate form for you and your friends to sign. You decide to invite them all to a house-warming party in your new house. You start by emailing an invitation to your best friend who was particularly helpful during the move. Write an informal email to your best friend. In the email you should: say why you are writing and the reasons for the party describe some of the ways that different people helped you move house thank your friend for the specific help s/he gave you during the move tell your friend about some of things you have planned for the party, plus details such as time and date of party tell your friend how your house is looking now. 15 marks Write 120-150 words.
