A LEVEL GRAPHICS - September 2017 If you have any questions please contact eportbury@wkgs.net AS Project outline Title - Music, Fashion and Me Design Brief - You are going to produce a series of Music promotional materials, such as designs for Music posters for a concert, festival or advertisement, CD cover, Music merchandise such as designs for T-shirts and Flyer. You will be able to make this personal to you and your favourite Music genre and link it with Fashion. As well as researching different artists styles, you will need to look at recording ideas through first hand and secondary sources. You will need to think about and set up a photo-shoot to take photographs stylising a person with fashion, hair and makeup to suit your chosen music genre as well as photographing close ups of objects, patterns and surfaces that also connect with your music genre. From here you will then plan and develop ideas for your promotional materials exploring different media and graphic design techniques. To prepare you to start your A level course in September I would like you to complete the following activities. Summer Task: Please bring to your first lesson in September 1) On the paper provided you are to create a visual mind map looking at the theme Music, fashion and me this should include both words and images and should be personal to you. 2) Collect secondary images that inspire you and explore your mind map ideas of music and fashion styles. This could involve flyers, posters, cd covers, images from magazines, found images from the internet (min of 15 examples) 3) Set up and take 15 photographs of both people and close up objects capturing your music and fashion influences. 4) Visit at least one exhibition from the suggested list and start an A6 journal documenting your visit with photographs, postcards, sketches and annotations about the work and your visit.
