It makes a wonderful bracelet, necklace or even an ankle bracelet. This weave can also be made in a thicker gauge than presented in class. The result is a bold bracelet for women or a great bracelet for a man. While the pattern looks simple, it requires precise placement of each ring so that every third ring maintains a consistent angle of overlap. This class is designed small so that up to 4 students can focus on adding to your skills. Most often there is only time to learn and finish one new skill in class, so this class may be one where you come several times over the year. If you have a project in mind we can work on that too. The instructor will have heat safe CZs & SS ear posts for sale and clay of course. If you decide to bring your own CZs make sure you check the color safe tables - we will fire at 1650 degrees for 2 hours many of the CZs won t keep their color at that temperature so be sure to check first. In this class you will learn to set stones with PMC that you cannot fire. Bring your own cabochons to set. (You will need 2 for the larger projects.) If you want to set cabochons in bezel cups, I will have sets that match for sale. If you want to purchase your own, make sure your bezel cups are fine silver and that your stones fit in them. Design ideas are endless Textured Peyote Bracelet- The basics Instructor: Ellen Perrin Sat July 21 11am - 3pm Sun Aug 26 Class $40 /Intermediate Beaders love texture. This bracelet, made with cylinder and seed beads, results a beautiful piece of jewelry and lots of texture. In this basic class you will learn how (or refresh your skills) to use even count, 2-drop, peyote stitch and learn how to embellish the base to add more color and texture. You will also learn how to treat and finish the edges and we will talk about various types of closures from snaps to toggles. We will discuss a variety of design options based on horizontal and diagonal rows. Pick your colors and your beads and come see how to put them together in interesting ways to create a bracelet you will love wearing and getting compliments on. Textured Peyote Necklace Instructor: Ellen Perrin Class $40 Sun Sept 16 11am - 3pm Expand your textured peyote design repertoire to create a stunning necklace. This class will show you how to increase and decrease to create a graduated base and then finish a necklace that is both beautiful and wearable. Beyond the basics, we ll discuss more variations, edge treatments, toggles and refine our finishing techniques. You will not finish this project in class. Disk Necklace with Chain Class $45 Sun Aug 26 11am - 4:30 pm Create your own disks necklace, earrings, and chain by using a disks cutter, jump rings, and attaching an ear wire. By selecting your disk size, texture, arrangement of the disks, and attaching your handmade chain, you will have a piece that will be uniquely yours. In this class you will learn how to properly use a disk cutter (that has the option to create washers), a flex shaft to drill holes in your disks and pliers to create a chain for your creation. ******************************************************************************************************** 10% discount will be given on the day of class for class supplies.
