Subsea Riser Systems The highly skilled engineering team at Aquaterra Energy has a track record of delivering excellence in high pressure, full bore drilling risers. Offering a complete service, starting with analysis of riser configurations, through all aspects of supply to delivering optimised installation operations in the field, Aquaterra Energy is acknowledged as a pioneer and market leader in these products. Our dedicated riser systems team provides responsive support for clients around the world. This support is based on our in-depth understanding of the key issues associated with supplying these complex, safety critical systems. This understanding starts with our core competence in riser analysis. Our large team of analysts have extensive experience of analysing these types of systems, and will consider aspects associated with the operational requirements of the system from the start of the analysis process. This helps customers avoid common issues, such as restricted operational windows often caused by selection of a system, which cannot withstand all possible combinations of pressure, tension and environmental loads. It continues through the detailed design and supply phases of the project, where Aquaterra Energy s team will consider all issues associated with the riser interfaces, fatigue management and operational optimisations to ensure the client gets a system, which anticipates and meets their needs perfectly. The understanding carries on to the operations offshore where we will prepare a detailed operations procedure, including use of a range of time optimised equipment and well proven techniques specific to the rig and well requirements. Aquaterra Energy will then implement this procedure under the supervision of our excellent service technicians and engineers in the field, calling on their wide experience gained on many wells over many years. Throughout the process, Aquaterra Energy will be thinking about the detailed requirements essential to this pressure retaining system below the BOP. This drives our approach to QHSE in these systems. It drives our unique fatigue management system which records every aspect of the utilisation of every component in our fleet. And it informs our approach to innovation in these products, such as the successful application of a new 10,000psi riser built and supplied to meet the highest standards of the industry. riser systems offshore structures hydraulic systems service & rental Connectors (Subsea and Surface) We offer a choice of connector variants which can maximise operations across a variety of applications and environments. These include the market leading, field proven, deepwater, heavy duty H4 subsea connectors, for use on their own or as part of Aquaterra Energy s high pressure riser system, providing the connection between the riser s stress joint and the subsea wellhead. The models exceptionally high bending capacity means it is suited to most offshore operations. All our subsea connectors can be fitted with a standard ROV hot stab panel for secondary control in the failure of the surface control unit. Our hydraulic power units (HPUs) allow the control and functioning of all our subsea connectors. We also offer a range of surface connectors, such as the NT-2, Speedloc and Fastlock connections. These are used to minimise rig time for riser applications, providing the connection between the rig BOP and the surface riser tension joint. Surface Riser Systems From detailed operational review and riser analysis, through to procurement and delivery of complete surface riser systems, Aquaterra Energy has the expertise, personnel and equipment to provide a highly responsive, time saving, tailored solution, across a variety of projects. Analytical ability, combined with a detailed operational understanding of standard and non-standard riser operations, enables us to provide a fully optimised equipment selection service. Through the use of dedicated BOP and wellhead quick connectors the team can reduce running times, saving valuable rig time per deployment. Using our dedicated handling and running tools, all riser systems can be constructed and pressure tested offline. All surface systems are also fully NACE compliant and come in a variety of sizes and pressure ratings. highly responsive, time saving, tailored solutions www.aquaterraenergy.com 5
PLATFORM Risers Our in-house riser engineers have the knowledge and experience to design, manufacture and install offshore pipeline riser systems. Our team has been involved in the design and installation of numerous riser systems on a worldwide scale. Throughout the platform riser design process, we use our operational and design experience to accurately define and model specific situations during the riser s operational lifespan. Particular attention is given to both the installation and in-place analyses to ensure the stresses in the riser - caused by installation methods or environmental loading during operation - are considered. Giving careful consideration to the installation methodology allows us to be flexible in our design approach and adjust either the operation or the riser s design to achieve the optimal solution to a specific challenge. In addition to the design of the platform riser, our in-house engineers can look at the design and interface concerns between the platform support clamps and the platform jacket, and are also experienced in the design and specification of PIG launchers and receivers. Our experienced in-house project team will liaise with the client to develop the most efficient means of installing the riser, and has experience in managing the installation of projects where the riser has been deployed from both heavy lift barges and jack-up drilling rigs. The project team s aim is to ensure that the riser is installed as safely and efficiently as possible, and is commissioned on time and within budget. Whether the platform requires a new platform riser, a caisson, J-tube or service riser, Aquaterra Energy s team can deliver solutions professionally, drawing on our wide experience of supplying these products. VIV Suppression Systems We recommend the implementation of vortex induced vibration (VIV) suppression systems across all operations, to minimise structural damage, increase structure lifetime and reduce system costs. Our suppression systems are an affordable solution to preventing or delaying separation and reducing the number of vortices produced, minimising the possibility of resonance, helping to reduce riser fatigue damage, eliminating adverse pressure gradients and preventing alternate vortex shredding motion. Systems can be produced quickly, are simple to construct and install and come in a variety of sizes and coatings to suit different marine conditions. Pre-existing data for performance verification is available. Systems can be produced quickly, and are simple to construct and install 6 www.aquaterraenergy.com

This is done without compromising attention to detail, while minimising rig time and reducing risk. Aquaterra Energy s staff have been engineering tiebacks since 1981. We understand the variety of issues surrounding these delicate operations. We appreciate that managing operations and communicating with all parties involved can prove challenging and our experience has shown that being involved from the outset can add significant value to the entire programme. So, we work closely with clients throughout programme development to identify equipment requirements, address eventualities and contingency plans to ensure that an effective programme is provided. Our team of specialist tieback operation supervisors ensures that records are current and reporting is accurate. We are also able to provide the specified specialist tieback equipment required for customers operations, via our rental equipment service. Centralisers We are experienced in providing complete centraliser packages, from design through to project management and installation, including bespoke centraliser designs across a variety of operations. Our team of engineers provide stringent finite element modelling to present an optimum design which meets industry codes and standards, requires no maintenance and lasts for the full life of the asset. The use of centralisers significantly reduces conductor and flowline movement, provides concentricity and improves the fatigue life and strength and stability of conductor systems. For bespoke requirements we provide designs for fixed blade conductor centralisers, drop-in retrofit centralisers, offset retrofit centralisers, inner casing centralisers, adjustable cellar deck centralisers, polymer centralisers and remotely adjustable centralisers. All designs can be varied dependent on service life, expected conductor / casing string movement and environmental loading. www.aquaterraenergy.com 7
