STITCH EXPLANATION: NOTES: rev sc (reverse single crochet) For right-handed crocheters: Single crochet worked from left to right. Insert hook into next stitch to the right, under loop on hook, and draw up a loop. Yarn over and draw through all loops on hook. For left-handed crocheters: Single crochet worked from right to left. Insert hook into next stitch to the left, under loop on hook, and draw up a loop. Yarn over and draw through all loops on hook. 1. Afghan is made from 59 motifs and 12 half motifs, arranged as shown in Assembly Diagram. Fill edging is worked across the long inner edge of each row. Neighboring motifs are joined together as the edging is worked, to form strips. The strips are then sewn together. 2. To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops to complete st. Fasten off old color. 3. When you see "- 12 sts" at the end of a row, this lets you know how many sts you will have at the end of that specific row. 4. Carefully read through the instructions for a specific row before beginning to work that row.
Increases are worked on every row, the type of increase varies with the row. 5. Two different edgings are part of the design of this Afghan. The side edging is worked in sc, the top and lower edging in rev sc. If you prefer, you can omit the rev sc and work sc around all edges. MOTIF (make 59) Beg at point of Motif, with A, ch 3.
