On August 16th 2011, the Metropolitan Football Stadium District approved The Sports Authority as the new official stadium sponsor for what was previously INVESCO FIELD at Mile High. With that sponsorship agreement, The Sports Authority obtains the official naming rights to the stadium. In order to properly brand the stadium in a manner that is beneficial to the sponsor, while also promoting the partnership with the Denver Broncos and meeting the criteria to include the public s desire to have AT MILE HIGH included in the name, an application to amend the comprehensive sign plan for the facility is necessary. The Sports Authority prides itself in the fact that they are a Hometown Sponsor for a Hometown Team. The inclusion of the Broncos and fan desires is essential for establishing an appropriate sign presentation that will allow all elements of the signage to be coupled in a thoughtful display that will provide a maximum benefit to the stadium partnership with The name. The proposed signage will be a compliment to the stadium atmosphere, identifying one of the City s most premier attractions while being subservient to the facility architecture.
