Korea is an undisputed world leader in new building of large offshore plant construction, with its top 4 shipyards Hyundai Heavy Industries, Daewoo Marine & Offshore Engineering, Samsung Heavy Industries, STX Offshore & Shipbuilding winning all global project orders issued in the first half of 2011. Korean shipyards recorded 53.2% of the global new building market of offshore and shipbuilding project in the first half of 2011.
