Two Day National Level Student Workshop on TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING PRACTICE (TACEP) 4-5 February 2013 The Department of Civil Engineering of Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College organized a Two-Day National Level Student Workshop on TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING PRACTICE (TACEP) during 4-5, February 2013 under TEQIP-II. The objective of the program is to bring together the practicing engineers to share their ideas and experiences with the students of civil engineering. This program is helpful for the students to understand the technicalities and update their knowledge on the latest trends in Civil Engineering. Eminent personalities from Industry and academia like Dr.C.S.Viswanatha, Chairman, Civil Aid Technoclinic Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore; Dr. Deb Jyoti Pal, Head EIC, NIIT GIS Ltd. (ESRI India Ltd.), New Delhi; Mr. C. V. S. N. Murthy, Head, Information Technology and Systems, KMC Constrcutions Ltd., Hyderabad; Dr. Ramesh Mantha, Director Projects, My Home Constructions (P) Limited, Hyderabad; Mr. P. Surya Prakash, Director, SatyaVani Projects and Consultants Pvt.Ltd., Hyderabad; and Dr. T. Rambabu, Director, UR Ground Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad attended the workshop as resource persons. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. C.S.Viswanatha, the Chief Guest. Mr. C. V. S. N. Murthy and Dr. Deb Jyoti Pal were the guests of honour. Prof. T. Gopal Rao, the Special Officer, SVET; Dr. P.C. Krishnamachary, Principal; Dr. D.V.S. Bhagavanulu, Director; Dr. I. Sudarsaan Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, SVET; Mr. O.Eswara Reddy, Convener TACEP and Head, Department of Civil Engineering and Prof. G. S. Krishnamurthy, Senior Professor graced the occasion. About 360 students from various colleges participated in the workshop. The student participants and members of faculty of the Department of Civil Engineering were richly benefited the workshop.
