Dogwood & Laurel District Klondike Derby Camp Raven Knob January 17-19, 2014
Dear Scouters: Enclosed you will find a schedule, general info, and registration forms for your troop for the 2014 Klondike Derby. We need to hear from each troop in advance if your troop plans on attending and which event you are planning to host. We need to know in advance so we don t duplicate events. Events will be approved on a first come first serve basis. Plan on not doing your events at your campsite. This info deadline is January 9, 2014. We have reserved all of the Adirondack campsites; however you can stay in a tent campsite if you like. We have reserved the Valley and Lodge Road campsites for those wishing to tentcamp. (You must provide your own tents if tent-camping.) Adirondack sites should be reserved ahead of time. We need to know how many will be staying in your site to make sure we assign them appropriately based upon campsite size. Some troops may need to share a site. If you wish to arrange your own site-sharing ahead of time, let us know all troops involved and a total number of people when you reserve your site. The headquarters location for Klondike will be at the Barnhart Training Center. Sleds are not required however there will be a judging of the best sled and a plaque will be presented for first place. Skits and/or songs at the Saturday night campfire will give patrols extra credit points on their overall Klondike events scoring. 10 points for a skit and 5 points for a song. Encourage your boys to participate by doing a skit or song. Please contact me with your information and campsite requests ASAP. We look forward to seeing you and your troop at the Klondike. If you have any other questions please contact me. Sincerely, Adam Atkins Dogwood District Program Chairman 457 Ararat Road Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 cell (336) 401-5111 doublea_79@yahoo.com
