Sandpaper - t smth any rugh edges and make parts slide easier. Wax/parrafin als t make parts slide better.
General Ntes: All writing n parts is riented the same way n each side unless therwise nted. This puzzle is assembled with the writing n the plywd pieces facing ut except fr the bttm inner panel. When the uter layer pieces are glued n the writing n thse pieces faces inwards. The alignment pegs are f different lengths depending upn the number f layers that are being placed tgether. Be careful t use the crrect length. The pegs are easier t push thrugh the hles if yu start them n the side f the piece that has writing. Check the fit befre gluing and sand/file any pieces that d nt slide smthly I find that light sanding f the faces f sliding pieces makes fr better bxes. I als use paraffin/candle wax n the surfaces t get smthly mving pieces. I use Aleene s tacky glue fr gluing parts. I glue the pieces and then hld them tgether fr ~15 secnds and they will stay in place until the glue dries. Be careful when attaching uter sides, spacers and cvers t keep glue away frm areas where it might squeeze ut underneath and get n any f the sliding parts. If pssible glue thse parts withut the sliding pieces in place s yu can clean up any glue squeeze ut. Clean up glue squeeze ut while the glue is still sft as it is much harder after it dries. When sanding flat sides it is better t place the sheet f sandpaper n a flat surface and mve the puzzle piece ver the sandpaper. This keeps the face flat and prevents runding ver the edges. If tabs seem t fat t fit in slts then sand them with a cuple f passes f 100 grit sandpaper n each side f the tabbed piece. If tabbed pieces d nt seat fully in the pcket areas, then sand the ends f the tabs.
Assemble Inner Bx Start by gluing the frnt, left, back, right and bttm panels tgether. The writing n the side panels shuld be facing utwards and the writing n the bttm panel shuld face twards the inside f the bx/twards the tp. This is imprtant fr making sure the peg hles are riented crrectly. After the glue is dry sand the fur sides f the bx with 100 grit sandpaper t remve any ridges and make it smth fr any sliding pieces. Then sand it with 180/220 grit sandpaper t make it really smth fr the sliding panels. Add Spacer Pieces Using the black (.280 ) pegs add the spacer pieces t the frnt, back, right, left and bttm sides f the bx. The pegs shuld be flush with the inside f the bx.
The Middle Sectin included in the full plans. Apply Finish If yu are ging t apply finish t the puzzle that shuld be dne nw. Sand the bx and lid with 180/220 sandpaper and put n yur favrite stain/finish r paint the bc/lid. Be careful when applying finish n the frnt f the bx s that the sliding pieces d nt get stuck by the finish. Many light cats f finish and making sure the slider still mves between cats wrks best. After the finish is dry yu can assemble yur puzzle and yu are dne. The dts fr the dice are put n as fllws: Tp panel has six Frnt panel has five Right panel has fur Bttm panel has three Back panel has tw Left panel has ne.
