SELECTING COLORS FOR YOUR HOME Painting your home is a large investment and color is an important consideration ifand when you sell your home. It can be the "deal breaker". Therefore, it is importantto select colors that you like and also ones that have a broad appeal. One ofthe ways you can select colors is to paint a large (at least 2x2 ft) piece ofcardboard or foam core. Paint is now available in 7 oz cans, mixed to order at a number of paint stores for $3.00 or so. This makes it economical to test a number ofcolors. Paint 2 coats ofpaint on the board and move it around your house in different light conditions. Then try placing it where you can see the rooftoo as well as the predominent colors in the landscape. Squint your eyes and this gives another perspective. Consideration should be given to not selecting a color close to that ofyour neighbors. CHOOSE CAREFULLY AS A GOOD PAINT JOB WILL LAST A LONG TIME. SUBMIT YOUR COLOR CHOICES ON THE APPROPRIATE FORMS AND SUBMIT TO THE ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMITTEE AT LEAST A MONTH PRIOR TO YOUR PROJECTED PAINTING TIME.
