My Journal for April (year)

April is Anxiety Month Does anything make you feel anxious? What do you do when you feel anxious? Do you keep it inside, or do you talk to someone? Tell about a time you felt anxious, and how you took care of your anxiety. Draw a picture of what anxiety looks like.

April is Mathematics Education Month Do you like math? Why or why not? If you do like math, why do you like it? If you don t, why not? Create a poster to advertise Mathematics Education Month.

April is Month of the Young Child Young children have many needs. What are some things that you needed when you were little? How did you get what you needed? Draw a picture of a young child.

April 28 th is the beginning of Floralia The ancient Romans had a seven day holiday called Floralia to honor the goddess Flora (goddess of flowers). How would you observe Floralia? Maybe you would think about your favorite flower every day. What is your favorite flower? Why? Draw a picture to go with your writing.

April 29 th is Greenery Day In Japan, the birthday of the former emperor (Emperor Showa) is celebrated as Greenery Day, to mark Emperor Showa s great love of nature. How important is nature to you? Do you feel happier surrounded by trees and grass, or by buildings and sidewalks? Write about greenery and its effect on you. Draw a picture to go with your writing.

April 30th {Reflection} Think about the last month. Write about all the things you enjoyed learning. Think about a few little things that you would like to keep as memories and write them down now, so that even years later you can look back and remember. Glue or attach an article of any kind. Maybe you have a picture you would like to save. Maybe you had a really funny haircut this month and would like to save a piece of your hair. What about a really good piece of candy? Here is a great place to save the wrapper. Did you get any awards this month? Think of any simple thing you would like to keep, to remember later.
