2016-2017 PROGRAMS: from Kelly and Janet November 21 - Guild Meeting Guest speaker Bonnie Dwyer. "Six Generations of Maine Quilters" Bonnie comes from a long line of prolific needlewomen from central Maine. A quilt maker herself, Bonnie taught her daughter and grandchildren to sew and make quilts. The discovery of some treasured textile items in an inherited trunk - several with hand- written notes - led Bonnie on a journey of discovery about her talented ancestors. Covering a timespan from the early 1900's into the 21st century, she shares examples of quilts and other textiles made by all six generations. This one- hour program includes slides and actual examples of family quilts and other needle work! (kellyquilts@comcast.net) or Janet (janetquilts@comcast.net) November 26 - Sit & Sew Sign up's for all workshops continue before the guild meetings. For more program information please visit the guild's FB page or silvercityquiltguild.org Comfort Quilts I'm looking forward to our next Charity Sewcial on Saturday February 25. I hope you'll mark your calendar and join us! Once our new pattern is picked I'll post in on our FB page and I'll be sure to have kits at the January and February meetings for those who would like to work on the project at home. Happy Holidays! Kelly Quilty Threads - They Bind us Together : From Gail Baker Guild Secretary Since Goodwill is part of our fellowship. Let's make sure we share it amongst ourselves! Please let me know when a Guild Members is in need of a little sunshine; whether it is an illness, condolence, congratulations, or just a little pick-me up for TCL. Make sure to let me know! October: Elizabeth Gagnon, Charlet Sherman, Judith DeArruda, Rosalie Conti-Stebenne, and Patty Roberts Support Area Quilt Shows: Sewciopath January Retreat Hi Everyone! Our January retreat will be here before you know it! I wanted to send a quick reminder that full payment for the retreat is due to me by December 1. If you've already paid, "Thank You!" If you've forgotten what days you signed-up for or your amount owed let me know. If you need to mail your payment to me, my address is: Kelly Nelson 11 West Grove St Middleboro, Ma 02346 The dates are Thursday January 26 - Sunday January 29 Quilt room opens at 9 AM on Thursday and closes at 3 PM on Sunday. For the new retreaters, the name of the hotel is the Bayside Resort. The address is 225 Main St, Route 28 West Yarmouth, Ma. www.baysideresort.com For those interested we will be playing a NEW dice game to win fat quarters. If you'd like to participate please bring 4 Fat quarters...to make it easy we wo'nt have a theme...just bring 4 NEW PRETTY fat quarters. We also will be playing Quilt Bingo. If you'd like to participate please bring several gift wrapped NEW prizes. The prizes may be quilt oriented or not. Bring things you would like to win! Please no perfume or outdated fabrics. 5

Another reminder...only persons registered with this retreat are allowed in the quilting room and to use the facilities of the hotel. Sorry but we have to add another rule...the quilting space is large and although we love background music, I have to ask if you'd like to listen to music, you will have to do so via your headphones. Last year we had too many different songs playing at the same time, and the "dueling Banjos" was uncomfortable for the quilters caught in the middle. The hotel has a great continental breakfast (Not included on Thursday) and we will be having a pizza party on Saturday night/ You're welcome to bring food for yourself or to share with others on the other days. I know alot of ladies love having a POT LUCK. Please remember, there is a refridgerator in your room, but not in the quilting room. I will provide a small ice bed for perishables during the day.any food requiring refridgeration must be brought to your room at night or I will throw it away. Don't forget to bring your bathing suit for the pool and the hot tub! Looking forward to retreating with you all!! Kelly FOR SALE!!! Gammill Classic Plus.
