Important Information READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for purchasing this GrowSpan door kit. When properly assembled and maintained, this product will provide years of reliable service. These instructions include helpful hints and important information needed to safely assemble and properly maintain the door. Please read these instructions before you begin. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Wear eye protection. Wear head protection. Use a portable GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) when working with power tools and cords. WARNING: Individuals assembling this door are responsible for designing and furnishing all temporary bracing, shoring, and supports during assembly. For safety reasons, those who are not familiar with recognized construction methods and techniques must seek the help of a qualified contractor. UNPACK AND IDENTIFY PARTS Complete these steps to ensure that you have all necessary parts: 1. Unpack shipment and place where you can easily inventory parts. Refer to the Bill of Materials/Spec Sheets. 2. Verify that all parts listed on Bill of Materials/Spec Sheets are present. If anything is missing or you have questions, consult parts guide and all diagrams for clarification, or contact customer service. REQUIRED TOOLS This list identifies the main tools needed. Additional tools and supports may be required depending on structure, location, and application. Tape measure or measuring device Fine point marker to mark frame members Variable speed drill and impact driver (cordless with extra batteries works best) Tool to cut polycarbonate panel Hammers, gloves, and eye protection Ladders, work platforms, and other machinery for lifting designed to work safely at door and door frame height. ATTENTION: Consult the services of a qualified, professional contractor if you are not familiar with construction of similar frame structures and components. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE Following instructions as presented will help ensure the proper installation of end frame and door. These step outline the assembly process: 1. Verify that all parts are included in the shipment. Notify Customer Service for questions or concerns. 2. Read these instructions and all additional documentation before you begin. 3. Gather the tools, bracing, and ladders (and lifts) needed to install door and door frame. 4. Read the care and maintenance information on next page. QUICK START DIAGRAMS For a quick overview of door and door components, consult the diagrams near the back of this guide. NOTE: At this time, do not open plastic bags containing smaller parts such as fasteners and clamps (if equipped). 2

Important Information SINGLE SWINGING DOOR KIT: READ THIS BEFORE YOU BEGIN Consult the services of a qualified contractor if needed. It is the responsibility of the owner/contractor to adapt these instructions to safely and competently install this door in an end wall or building that it was not designed for. Complete these steps: 1. Based on door dimensions, determine door position in end frame. Use diagrams from both this guide and end wall assembly guide (if availble). 2. Return to end wall instructions and frame end wall as needed based on door location. Secure door framing to end wall framing. 3. Assemble door and attach to door frame. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Remove protective film from the polycarbonate panel. Allowing film to remain intact and in direct sunlight will make it difficult if not impossible to remove. Store panel out of direct sunlight until film is removed. Rest panel edges on cardboard or other material to protect it from dirt and damage during assembly. Protective Film PARTS IDENTIFICATION The following graphics and photos help identify hardware for the door. (Some parts are not shown.) Twin-Wall Black-Out Polycarbonate Door Kit Mark UV-protected side with a piece of tape after protective film is removed and install that side toward sun. 108553 Wafer head screw 104213 Aluminum U-Channel Profile 102921B & FA4484B Tek and neobonded washers CARE AND MAINTENANCE Proper care and maintenance of the door is important. Check the following items periodically to properly maintain door and door frame: Regularly check polycarbonate panel to ensure it remains secure and is in good condition. Replace damaged panel if needed. Check connections and all fasteners to verify that they remain tight. Check contents of shelter to verify nothing is touching polycarbonate panel that could cause damage or interfere with door operation. Do not leave door partially opened. Close door and secure with latch or prop open to avoid personal injury or damage. For replacement or missing parts, contact your sales representative. 3

Door Frame Assembly ASSEMBLE DOOR FRAME COMPONENTS Consult diagrams near the back of this guide before you begin. ATTENTION: Photos and diagrams show attaching door frame to an end wall constructed using girts with a specific profile. If actual end wall frame differs, take necessary steps to alter instructions as needed to allow proper installation of door jambs and header. The following steps describe one way to set door jambs. 1. Using dimensions from Door Frame Layout located in Quick Start section, locate and mark door jamb positions on site. 2. Dig a 10"-12" diameter hole at locations found in previous step to a depth that is below geographic frost line. (Minimum depth: 24".) 3. Locate the 120" door jambs (105488120). Using a metal saw, cut and remove 2-1/2" sections from one end of each door jamb as shown in photo A. This creates a lip and allows jamb to be attached to girt (see photo B and C and Side View diagram). Vertical Support A 2-1/2" Lip 2-1/2" Front Cut along dotted lines. Remove this section 2-1/2" Left Jamb ATTENTION: Diagrams A-D show left door jamb only. Adjust cuts when cutting end for right jamb. 4. Using diagrams as guides, attach jambs to girts using 108553 wafer head screws (photo C, D, and E). Install end wall girts if needed. B Door Side ATTENTION: Position door jambs so open sides of C-channel face away from door opening (as shown in photo C) and lip overlaps girt. When attached to girt, lower end of each jamb extends into a ground anchor hole and is secured in place using concrete. Consult a knowledgeable contractor if needed. During installation, verify that inside-to-inside dimension for door frame remains consistent. Side View 108553 Wafer Head C Front Toward Door Opening End wall as seen from the outside. Door Frame Assembly ASSEMBLE DOOR FRAME COMPONENTS (continued) 5. With door jambs attached, measure and mark height of rough door opening. Consult drawing below and Door Frame Layout located in Quick Start. Measure from finished grade to underside of header. 6. Locate the 10548872 header material, measure outside-to-outside width of door jambs, and cut header to required length. 7. Using a metal saw, cut two 2" sections and bend lip inward from both ends of door header as shown at right (see photos F and G). This creates two (2) tabs and allows header to attach to jambs. Open channel of header points upward. 8. Position header so the two (2) tabs on each side overlap door jambs (see photo H). Align header bottom with vertical support marks made in Step 5. Ensure header is level and check dimensions. 9. Attach front and back of header to jambs using wafer head screws. Reinforce header by securing bent lip to vertical support using Tek screws as shown in photo H. (Customer-supplied bolts can also be used.) 10. After door frame is square and assembled, secure door jambs in ground using concrete. NOTE: Concrete should remain at least 2"- 4" below ground level so it does not interfere with construction, installation of other end wall components (if equipped), or door operation. 11. After assembling door frame, continue with door assembly. NOTE: Sample end frame and rafter are not included with any door kit. Twin-Wall Single Swinging Door SINGLE TWIN-WALL DOOR ASSEMBLY Materials and parts needed to assemble the 115020 door include: Door frame (102923), 8mm panel (113296Z096), door hinges (FA5030), and latch (FA2410) Tek screws (FA4484B), neo-bonded washers (102921B), and aluminum profile (104213) Assemble and Attach Door NOTE: Install polycarbonate panel with UV-protected side toward the outside/sun. See panel film cover for details. 1. Locate door frame (102923), assemble (if needed), and place on a flat surface. 2. Take panel and trim so length is one-quarter inch (1/4") shorter than length of door frame. 3. Trim width of panel (if needed) so that it is one-quarter inch (1/4") narrower than width of door frame. NOTE: Trimming panels as instructed keeps panel flush with door frame edge once aluminum profile (104213) is installed. 4. Center panel on door frame. 5. Using Tek screws (FA4484B) and galvanized neobonded washers, attach panel to horizontal cross tube of door frame. Evenly space Tek screws and washers every 12". 6. Install aluminum U-channel profile along all pannel edges. Ends can be mitered or cut as shown. Photo shows panel attached to outside of door frame and finished with aluminum (104213) U-channel. 7. To keep panel and profile in place, install Tek screws and neo-bonded galvanized washers so screw drills through longer edge of U-channel (underside of panel) and washer overlaps shorter edge of U-channel (top) as shown above. Evenly space Tek screws every 12". 8. Locate door latch hole (5" from edge of door in cross member) and drill 1" hole through panel at hole location. Hole in frame for door latch. Set Step 8. Handle 9. Insert main handle of assembly through hole in door and manuver handle and front plate into place as shown above. NOTE: Attach panel in locations shown in photo to hold panel in place while attaching aluminum profile to panel. To prevent interfering with latch installation, do not install fasteners near latch mounting hole located in frame cross tube. 6

Twin-Wall Single Swinging Door SINGLE TWIN-WALL DOOR ASSEMBLY (continued) 10. Mark plate mounting hole locations on panel and drill a 5/16" hole through panel and door frame. Support frame with a block of wood if needed. 13. With assistance, set assembled door in door frame and secure hinges to door jamb using one Tek screw per hinge at this time. 11. Slide back mounting plate into position, align it with mounting holes and front plate and secure using two (2) ¼" x 3" bolts and lock nuts. Verify that latch turns freely. Mount door latch guide (slotted plate) using the remaining ¼" x 3" bolts. Position so latch handle is level. See below. Latching Plate Door Latch Guide Horizontal Position 12. After assembling door, evenly space three (3) hinges along door frame and attach using Tek screws. Locations of door hinges may vary. 14. Verify there is sufficient clearance along all door edges to allow door to swing freely in the opening. 15. Test door operation, adjust hinges as needed, and install remaining Tek screws. 16. Mount latching plate to door jamb using Tek screws. supplied with latch are not for metal jambs. 17. Attach weather stripping to inside door frame around door to seal gaps. 12" 7
