1. sell the concept Intro to sliding doors Spacepro sliding doors and storage solutions bring unparalleled elegance and style to your bedroom, creating wardrobes with clever, functional storage to maximise your space. Made in the UK from the highest quality materials, our doors come in endless designs allowing you to create your perfect, truly personalised wardrobe. Wardrobes fronted by sliding doors are an excellent way to maximise space. Our systems typically run between two walls or from one wall to an end-panel; this means all the space within can be used for storing your clothes using one of our storage solutions. Fits all kinds of room sizes Due to the way many houses are constructed, many master bedrooms are L shaped with an alcove going over the staircase. Whilst it s common to retrofit this space as an en-suite, it s also perfect space for creating a stunning walk-in wardrobe. With just 1.5m depth you can create a walk-in with storage on all three sides of the room; fronting this area with our Duo double sided door allows you to add functionality to the doors, having a dressing mirror on the inside with a decorative glass finishing facing into the room. Sliding doors are also perfect for creating wardrobes in box rooms or 2nd, 3rd bedrooms where space is limited. As sliding doors don t open into a room in the same way a hinged door does, you can fit them much closer to other furniture such as beds and cabinets. Our range of loft doors is the perfect way of utilising valuable under the eaves storage space in loft conversions or dormer bungalows. March 2015 Spacepro training pack 4

For all kinds of rooms Sliding doors are also a great solution outside of the bedroom where they can be used as room dividers in kitchens; hallway, pantries or utility rooms without losing room depth for traditional hinged doors. Single panel Domalti frame, smoked glass with white Aura storage solution. 3 panel Classic doors in oak, mirror and soft white glass. 3 panel fineline Switch frame double sided door in gris and grey mirror. Flexible storage Spacepro storage solutions offer excellent flexibility; these modular, stanchion based systems can run from floor to ceiling or floor to wall depending on your space and needs. Within the systems you can add / change / move the components as frequently as you like. Some people fold all their clothes; some people hang all their clothes either way our storage solutions allow you ultimate flexibility. You can even have floor to ceiling shoe racks should you desire! Wardrobes built using our sliding doors and storage solutions offer the premium fitted look without the same premium price. Something inherently impossible with fitted bedrooms. Aura Relax All Spacepro doors are manufactured in Sheffield at our state of the art production facility. All our wood materials have an accredited chain of custody and are both FSC and PEFC registered. We re so confident in our systems that we offer a 10 year guarantee on all moving parts. 3. plan the project Which storage solution is best for you Creating a wardrobe using Spacepro storage solutions and sliding doors can be done in a few different ways. Deciding how you re going to create the wardrobe will enable you to plan best use of your space. Our storage systems are modular based and really flexible allowing you to change and expand the inside of your wardrobe (your project) with ease. Both systems are available as either floor to ceiling or floor to wall so will be able to accommodate most spaces and ceiling heights. Floor-to-ceiling storage solution Floor-to-wall storage solution March 2015 Spacepro training pack 14

Spacepro sliding doors can be purchased in one of two ways: 1 Fixed dimension doors These doors fit an opening 2260mm high and come in three different widths. Unless you re lucky enough to have the exact ceiling height and opening width, you ll have to do some work to frame these doors. This could involve building down from a ceiling to install a top track, or building in from a wall using end-panels or fillets we sell all the accessories to do this and give full instructions to help. You ll also need to buy your trackset in a standard size and cut it down to length. Creating a sliding wardrobe with fixed dimension doors will be cheaper than the second option but will involve a little more project work to create the opening. In terms of door choice, each of our ranges features our best selling standard mirror, glass and wooden panel options in fixed dimension. 2 Custom doors With the custom door option we make doors bespoke to your opening dimensions, this means they fit from floor to ceiling and wall to wall or end-panel. Each door is made exactly to the opening size so there will be no compromise on overlaps between doors etc. As we know your exact opening width, we ll also supply the track cut exactly to size this will even be colour matched to your door frame choice and is included in the price. As we re custom making the doors to your dimensions you also have the option to personalise them, mixing different colours and materials in several different configurations. Custom doors are the more premium solution to creating a sliding door wardrobe but much simpler to install. For the slight premium you pay, features such as soft close and colour matched tracksets are standard here. You ll also have access to a greater choice of premium colours for the price you pay. 4. plan the space Sliding wardrobes are a perfect solution for fronting off a recess in a room whether that is an L shaped bedroom or alcoves around a chimney breast. Here there are two walls which you re applying doors across to create a wardrobe. Sliding door wardrobes can also be created using end-panels. End-panels are large sections of timber used to create an artificial end for the doors to run up to. We supply these end-panels in the same finishes as our doors, allowing for example, a wardrobe to be made up of an Oak end-panel, fronted by Oak panel doors. It s also possible to go from end-panel to end-panel within a room. We provide guidance on how to install end-panels and also sell items such as fixing blocks to make this much simpler. 2 3 1 1. Wardrobe depth 2. Wardrobe height 3. Door width You should start with the depth when planning your space. Our storage systems require a minimum depth of 610mm to fit all the components behind the doors. Check that this depth is consistent across the entire area you intend to make a wardrobe out of; a protruding plug socket or air brick cover could prevent drawers or shelves going fully behind your doors if you re working close to the minimum depth. Our floor to ceiling storage systems go up to a height of 2700mm, whilst the back to wall options can go up to a height of 2200mm.Fixed dimension doors fit an opening of 2260mm high; if you re ceiling is higher than this you ll need to bring the track down from the ceiling using our Spacer Blocks or Open Height Reducer the gap between the track and ceiling can then be filled with plaster board or matching wood panel fillet. Alternatively, custom doors can be made bespoke to go up to a ceiling height of 2480mm. Sliding doors can be made from 550mm to 1200mm wide, this means wardrobe openings can be filled with a few really wide doors or several narrower doors depending on both the look you re trying to achieve and the functionality required. Planning what is going behind the doors before choosing door width is really important. If for example you re planning on installing a 900mm drawer unit, you ll need doors greater than 930mm wide to allow you to open the drawers into the room. March 2015 Spacepro training pack 16

D A B C E Openings should be measured in 5 places as illustrated, measuring your height and width in different places checks to see if walls, ceilings and floors are straight. Our trackset systems will accommodate +/- 12mm between your A,B,C measurements. If the difference is greater than this then adjustments will need to be made to correct the slope. Whilst we price by the individual width of your doors to fill an opening, actual door widths will vary slightly as we account for the different overlap widths derived from the width of the profile you ve chosen. We basically take care of this to make the measuring and order process simpler for you. Watch our how to videos at: http://spaceprotraining.co.uk/4-plan-the-space/ Planning your space: Storage systems Start with one column on the left of your space and then add on additional columns until you have filled your space. Most accessories are 550mm or 900mm but our adjustable hanger bars can be used to fill in that extra space. 550mm Accessories For 550mm accessories Width plus 2 Stanchions = 610mm 900mm Accessories For 900mm accessories Width plus 2 Stanchions = 960mm Add on 580mm for every column containing a 550mm accessory Add on 930mm for every column containing a 900mm accessory Flexible width accessories When using our flexible width accessories like our hanger bars or the Relax shoe rack, just add 30mm on to the desired accessory width to work out the space needed. * These measurements include both left & right stanchions Max width: 610mm* Max width: 960mm* Watch our how to videos at: http://spaceprotraining.co.uk/4-plan-the-space/ March 2015 Spacepro training pack 17

How to plan around obstacles The vast majority of our sliding door systems will run to at least one wall. Skirting, coving and dado rails are typical obstructions that will prevent a door closing flush with that wall. There are two main options for dealing with these scenarios: Amend the obstacle If skirting boards and dado rails can be easily removed, these can be cut allowing a sufficient gap for the doors to meet the wall and then reapplied. An alternative is to cut a gap in the obstacle whilst in situ; flush cut jigsaw blades or circular saws are common tools to do this. Build round the obstacle The easiest solution for dealing with skirting, coving and dado rails is to build round them, creating a flush surface for the doors to meet. This is typically referred to as a liner. Liners can be simple pieces of timber or plasterboard, or even purchased as a section of panel matched to that used in the design of the door. A jigsaw can be used to cut the side of the liner going over the skirting, dado etc. How to plan around uneven floors and ceilings Sliding doors run on tracks, the bottom track takes the weight of the door whilst the top acts as a guide. Naturally tracks need to be flat. Many ceilings and indeed floors often carrying a slope or degree of unevenness; we have a range of solutions to ensure the smooth opening and closure of our doors. Accessories such as our Open Height Reducer or Spacer Blocks allow the installation of top tracks from a ceiling, correcting any slope. All our bottom wheels can be adjusted by 15mm to allow for alignment. This allows precision adjustment to bring all doors level and aligned and is achieve in seconds with the turn of a screwdriver.
