Equine Laparoscopy Set by Mariën Equine laparoscopy is becoming more and more important. The minimally invasive procedure offers many advantages in abdominal surgery which are not possible with conventional open surgery techniques. In relation to a variety of indications, laparoscopy opens up the option to operate on the standing horse. This minimises the OP risk, as no general anaesthetic need be administered. Most endoscopic operations in the abdomen can be performed under local anaesthetic.
