My Nextel User Guide Last Updated 8/29/05

The MyNextel online interface is available at nextel.com. It allows you to conveniently access and manage your Nextel account. MyNextel enables you to view, print, and pay your Nextel bill online. MyNextel also gives you the tools to manage phones and subscribers on an account, create and modify Talkgroups, as well as access online tools and customer support. MyNextel Overview Features and Enhancements The new MyNextel user interface is designed to help you more easily access the types of information you need to successfully monitor and manage your Nextel account. The latest version of nextel.com has the following new features: Registration - The nextel.com registration process is more streamlined and efficient. Manage Your Accounts - Within one page you can easily: Update your member name and password Add and remove accounts Add and remove users from accounts Assign nicknames to each of the phones on your accounts, so that you do not have to remember to whom each account or phone number is assigned Designate which account will be the primary account 3

Customer Care 1 To access Customer Care, from the Nextel homepage, click Contact Us at the bottom of the page. Online Help 1 To get help online, click Contact Customer Care Online. The Customer Contact form displays. 2 Enter the required information. 3 Click Submit. Help by Phone To get help by phone, click Call Customer Care. The Contact Us page displays with a complete listing of Customer Care contacts. 5

Accessing the MyNextel Environment Registration MyNextel enables you to register for one of three roles. Once you are registered you can change roles, if necessary. User Allows you to manage and maintain services for only your phone. Services Administrator Allows you to maintain services for, and send updates to, subscriber phones. Account Administrator Gives you complete access to an account that may have many subscribers. Account administrator access allows you to pay the Nextel bill, purchase phones and rate plans, and order services (such as Mobile Email) for subscribers. You may also perform the Service Administrator's duties. 1 Go to nextel.com. 6.

2 Go to Manage > Select Account Type. 3 Click the drop-down list under Select Account Type and click MyNextel. The Register for MyNextel link displays. 4 Click Register for MyNextel. 5 Follow the prompts to register with MyNextel. 7

Managing Your Accounts The Manage Your Accounts page is available to account administrators only. Manage Your Accounts allows you to: Customize the view on your MyNextel page Designate the primary account that displays when you login Provide account nicknames, rather than memorizing to whom each number belongs 1 Go to nextel.com. 2 Go to Manage > Select Account Type. 3 Click the drop-down list under Select Account Type and click MyNextel. 4 Login with your member name and password. 5 Go to My Billing > Account Management. 6 To edit the account role, go to Account & Role. Click Edit, next to the name of the account with the role you want to change. Select the new role for the account. Click Save Changes. 7 To designate a primary account, check the field under Primary Account. Note: You may only designate one primary account at a time. Click Save Changes. 8 To give an account a nickname, enter the name next to the account you wish to designate. Click Save Changes. 9 To show the account in the main account listing, check the box under Show in List. Click Save Changes. 8.

My Phone and Plan My Phone allows you to access information exclusive to the phone you have registered on your MyNextel account. My Phone allows you to: Update phone information Reset your voicemail password View guides and tutorials Upgrade your phone My Plan allows you to view information specific to the plan currently available on your phone or device. To access this information, go to Manage > My Phone and Plan > Viewing Plan Details. A page displays with information about the features available on your current plan. Updating your Phone Information 1 Go to Manage > My Phone and Plan > Update Phone Information. The Phone Information page displays. 2 Enter the information you wish to update. 3 Click Submit. Viewing Guides and Tutorials 1 Go to Manage > My Phone and Plan > View Guides and Tutorials. The Guides and Tutorials page displays. 2 To review user documentation for: A phone, click the drop-down menu under Phones. Click the phone model for which you want to review the user guide or tutorial. Click Go. An information page specific to the phone model displays. It has links to the user guide and short explanations of the phone s functionality. A service, click the drop-down menu under Services. Click the category of the type of service for which you want to review the user guide or tutorial. Click Go. The corresponding Services information page displays, with links to all of Nextel s services. An accessory or device, click the link for the user documentation you wish to review. Upgrading your Phone 1 Go to Manage > My Phone and Plan > Upgrade this Phone. 2 The Nextel Phone Upgrades page displays, with information on upgrading your phone or Blackberry device. 3 Click the link for the phone you want to update and follow the instruction 9

My Minutes My Minutes allows you to view the number of cellular, Talkgroup, and Walkie-Talkie minutes you have used, and how many you have remaining, within the current billing period. 1 Go to Manage > My Phone and Plan > My Minutes to review the chart for: Anytime Minutes Walkie-Talkie Minutes 2 On the color-coded chart: The yellow bar indicates the minutes used up on the account The gray bar indicates the minutes remaining on the account The red bar indicates the minutes, over the preset amount, that have been used on the account 3 Click Check Additional Usage to view additional usage for phones on your account. 10.

My Billing My Billing allows you to manage your accounts and billing options. With My Billing, you can: View current bill View past billing statements View account details Change billing address Change bill delivery method Change the level of bill detail Viewing and Printing your Current Bill 1 Go to Manage > My Billing > View Current Bill. The Monthly Account Invoice page displays. 2 Review your bill. To print it, click Print This Page at the bottom of the page. Viewing Past Billing Statements 1 Go to Manage > My Billing > View Past Billing Statements. 2 The Billing History and Analysis page displays. A menu displays at the bottom of the screen detailing the billing periods available for all past statements. 3 Click Online or PDF to view the billing statement of your choice. A copy of your original bill displays. 4 The View Past Billing page also allows you to: Access payment history Review order history Create graphs Track called numbers To use any of these options, click the appropriate link. 11

Viewing Account Details The Account Details page allows you to view the following information: Call details listed by user Rate plan airtime usage detail Text and numeric paging Nextel International SM Service 1 Go to Manage > My Billing > View Account Details. The Account Details page displays. 2 To view an account summary for a specific unit, click on the desired user name in the User Name and Mobile Number column. The Details of Access and Usage by User page displays, with detailed information about the phones registered to the account. Changing your Billing Address 1 Go to Manage > My Billing > Change Billing Address. The Billing page displays. 2 Enter the new billing address. 3 Click Submit. Changing your Bill Delivery Method If you have 10 or fewer phones on your account, you can choose to receive your bill either by email or fax. 1 Go to Manage > My Billing > Change Bill Delivery Method> Bill Delivery. The Bill Delivery Methods page displays. 2 Select your delivery method. Note: Be sure you list a valid email address or fax number if you choose either of the available delivery methods. 3 Click Continue. The Bill Delivery page reflecting your changes displays. 4 Click Continue. The Bill Delivery confirmation page displays. Review your changes. 5 Click Back to revise, or Submit to accept. The Bill Delivery confirmation page displays with your confirmation number. Note: To modify billing delivery or contact information for other statement copies, click Customer Care Online from any page within MyNextel. Cha nging the Level of Bill Detail 1 Go to Manage > My Billing > Change Level of Bill Detail. The Choose Bill Format page displays. 2 If you would like to receive a: Short, summarized bill, click Summary Bill. Click Continue to confirm the request. Detailed bill, click Receive More Details. Click Continue to confirm the request. 12.

Phones and Subscribers Phones and Subscribers allows you to manage your subscribers and their associated accounts. With My Subscribers, you can: View phone inventory Add and remove services Change phone users labels used online and on your bill Manage Talkgroups Reset voicemail passwords View activity and minutes Adding and Removing Services Note: Any changes to existing service may impact your next billing statement. 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Phones and Subscribers > Add and Remove Services. The Add or Remove Services page displays. 2 Place a check in the box next to the Unit Name for which you want to add or remove services. 3 Click Continue. 4 Select the services that you want to add or remove. 5 Click Continue. The Add and Remove Services page displays. 6 Confirm your changes. 7 Click Submit. The Add and Remove Services page displays, with the services changed to reflect your request. Changing Phone Users Labels 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Phones and Subscribers > Change Phone User s Labels. The Change Unit Name page displays. 2 Click Change Unit User Name. 3 Place a check in the box next to the Unit User Name that you want to change. 4 Click Continue. The Change Unit Users Name page displays. 5 Click Change next to the desired Unit Name, or select Change All Names. 6 Enter the required information in the appropriate fields. 7 Click Continue. The Change Unit Users Name page displays the Unit Name(s) you changed. 8 Review your changes. Click Submit. The Change Unit User Names page displays your confirmation number. You will receive an email when your request is processed. 13

Managing Talkgroups To access Talkgroup Management functionality, you must have the following: A provisioned Nextel phone A valid MyNextel registration A network, which must be created before a Talkgroup can be defined. Create a Talkgroup 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Phones and Subscribers > Talkgroup Management. The Talkgroup Management page displays. 2 Enter the Talkgroup Name. Note: The character limit is 12. You must add at least one Talkgroup member. 3 Select the Talkgroup ID from the drop-down menu. Note: The default Talkgroup ID is the first available Talkgroup in the list, however you may choose whichever ID you prefer. 4 Place a check in the box next to Send Me an Email Confirmation. *Optional 5 Click Continue. The Add and Remove members page displays, with the Talkgroup added. Add Other Subscribers in Your Account to a Talkgroup Note: Members are participants in a Talkgroup. Subscribers are Talkgroup participants on your specific account. 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Phones and Subscribers > Talkgroup Management. The Talkgroup Management page displays. 2 Click the name of the Talkgroup to which you want to add subscribers. 3 Click Add or Remove Subscribers. The Talkgroup Management page displays, with the Other Subscribers in Your Account field. 4 Click the name of the subscriber you want to add. 5 Click Add. The subscriber is moved to the Talkgroup Members from Your Account field. 6 Click Continue. The Add Members? Confirmation Page displays. Note: You will receive an error message if you add more than 100 members to a Talkgroup. 7 Review your additions. Click Submit. The new Talkgroup displays. 8 Click Send Members a Text Message to Update their Talkgroup Membership. Note: Members will need to activate the new Talkgroup, which cancels the old Talkgroup. 9 Place a check in the box next to Send Me an Email Confirmation. *Optional 10 Click Submit. The updated Talkgroup displays. Edit the Talkgroup Name 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Phones and Subscribers > Talkgroup Management. The Talkgroup Management page displays. 2 Click the name of the Talkgroup whose name you want to edit. The Talkgroup Name page displays. 3 Click Edit Name. 14.

4 Place a check in the box next to Send Me an Email Confirmation. *Optional 5 Click Submit. The Talkgroup Management page displays with the new Talkgroup name listed. Add Members to a Talkgroup 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Phones and Subscribers > Talkgroup Management. The Talkgroup Management page displays. 2 Click the name of the Talkgroup to which you want to add members. The Talkgroup Management page displays. 3 Click Add or Remove Subscribers. 4 In the Other Subscribers in Your Account field, click the name of the member you want to add. 5 Click Add. The subscriber is moved to the Talkgroup Members from Your Account field. 6 Click Continue. The Add Members Confirmation page displays. 7 Review your additions. Click Submit. The Talkgroup Added page displays, populated with the members that you added. Remove Members from a Talkgroup 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Phones and Subscribers > Talkgroup Management. The Talkgroup Management page displays. 2 Click the name of the Talkgroup from which you want to remove members. The Talkgroup Management page displays. 3 Click Add or Remove Subscribers. The Talkgroup Management page displays. 4 In the Other Subscribers in Your Account field, click the name of the member you want to remove. 5 Click Remove. 6 Click Continue. The Remove Members Confirmation page displays. 7 Review your additions. Click Submit. The Talkgroup Removed page displays. Remove a Talkgroup 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Phones and Subscribers > Talkgroup Management. The Talkgroup Management page displays. 2 Place a check in the box next to the Talkgroup you want to remove. 3 Click Remove Talkgroup. 4 The Remove Talkgroup page displays. 5 Click Submit. 15

Resetting your Voicemail Passwords MyNextel allows you to reset your VoiceMail Password using the last seven digits of your PTN. Once completed, you can change the password to a specific code through the Nextel VoiceMail platform on your phone. 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Phones and Subscribers > Reset VoiceMail Password. The Reset VoiceMail Password page displays. 2 Place a check in the box next to the Unit User Name for which you want to change the voicemail password. Note: You may also simultaneously reset the passwords for all of the phones listed. To do so, select the checkbox designated for all phones, located at the top of the user listing. 3 Click Continue. A Confirmation Reset Password page displays. 4 If you are sure you want to reset the password, click Submit. The Reset VoiceMail Password confirmation screen displays with your ecare confirmation number. Note: Your request to reset the voicemail password will be processed within three hours. The new password will be the last seven digits of the phone number on the account. You will receive an email when the request is processed. Viewing Activity and Minutes per User 1 Go to Manage > Account Management > Check Usage. The Account Details page displays. 3 To view activity for a specific unit, click on the desired user name in the User Name and Mobile Number column. The Details of Access and Usage by User page displays, with detailed information about the phones registered to the account. 16

Downloads The Downloads section of the MyNextel page gives you the option of accessing and managing a variety of media options available for your phone. You may purchase: Ring Tones Wallpapers Games Applications 1 Go to Manage > Downloads > Manage Wireless Purchases with Nextel Wallet. The Purchases page displays. 2 The Purchases page features several links that allow you to view information about your downloaded media. Click: Purchase History to view your accounts media purchase history View Current Products to view the media that are currently downloaded to your account All Accounts to view information about media downloads sent to all of the accounts you are authorized to access Enterprise Account to view the media that are currently being used on your business account. 17

Sending a Text Message Sending a Text Message allows you to access messaging capabilities from within the Manage page. 1 Go to Manage > Send a Text Message. 2 Type in the phone number of the person to which you want to send a message. 3 Type the message. 4 Click Send. 18.

My Online Tools The My Online Tools section of the MyNextel user interface allows you to access information regarding other products and services that may be beneficial to you. 1 Go to Manage > My Online Tools. 2 Click on any of the links to find out more information about the following products: AddressBook to manage contacts online and transfer them to your phone My View to customize your phone's homepage from the Web My View Administrator to customize the Net menu for each phone on your account Text Messaging to send, receive and manage text messages Mobile Email to manage contacts online and transfer them to your phone Mobile Application Manager to distribute Java applications to phones on your account Total Account Registration to register multiple phones on your account simultaneously. 19
