Little Uns Sweetie When crocheted with yarns and hooks specified, Sweetie measures 13 inches L and 9 inches around waist. The doll pattern is crocheted in the amigurumi style of continuous rounds beginning from a double yarn loop. Marking the last stitch of increase and decrease rounds with a small length of yarn or a safety pin will help you to keep track. Materials F/5 3.75mm and I/9 5.50mm crochet hooks 4 ounces Caron Simply Soft Lt Country Peach (or other soft worsted weight) yarn 3 ounces Caron Simply Soft white or off white (or other soft worsted weight) yarn 2 ounces bright blue yarn for dress Several yards light green yarn for jumper and hair ribbon Several yards black yarn for shoes 1 yard dark pink yarn for mouth 2 (15 mm) safety eyes Polyester fiberfill for stuffing (4-5 ounces) Yarn needle 1

With yarn needle, thread shorter yarn length and pull yarn to inside below nose to anchor, arrange mouth in preferred expression, thread yarn needle with longer end, pull to inside and back out through 1 st ch on that end, sew in and out over chains to end, pull yarn to inside and tie together with shorter end, trim. Eye whites (make 2) Use white yarn and F hook Rnd 1: 1 sc, 2 sc inc 3 times, ch 1, turn (9 sc) Rnd 2: 3 sc, *2 sc inc* 3 times, 2 sc tie off Push safety eye through center of eye white then through face, pull yarn ends to inside with yarn needle and tack or tie together and trim. Hair Use baby or sport weight yarn Wrap yarn loosely 75 times around a 16 inch length of cardboard; with a 18 inch length of yarn lying horizontally on work surface, slip yarn off cardboard and lay vertically across center of yarn length, tie yarn length very tightly around middle of yarn bundle, flip over and tie again, knot securely (lay these yarn ends outward, you ll use these two to sew the hair to the top of the head area). Slip scissors between loop ends of yarn bundle and cut yarn. Set hair piece on the head, parting the strands on the bottom so they are 2

evenly lying along the sides of the head, sew it to head using the longer strands and yarn needle, push needle through head and back up through center of yarn bundle, bring needle out and over the bundle center and back through head, repeat a couple of times, leaving yarn end inside body. Repeat with other yarn length, when finished sewing, tie lengths together inside head firmly and trim.
