Tuesday Thursday 7 Animated Logo Development

Aims & Outcomes: Aims: To understand the animated logo development process, and how this relates to a time-based task. To use understanding of the principles of animation gained during animation lessons, and relate this to a time-based task. To develop ideas for creative solutions in time-based animated logo design. Outcomes: Bronze: Develop time-based animated design ideas on paper (sketch ideas for content, production schedule, script, storyboard) and relate this to your design intentions. Silver: Explore the development of digital animated sequences in preparation for final design ideas (animatics, animated sequences). Analyse the success of your ideas. Gold: Develop time-based animated sequences to final design and production, relating this to your assessment criteria and evaluating the success of your outcomes.

Design Task 12: Once you have developed packaging materials, the next step is to: Add all your work your have done with Lee to your sketchbook and blog. Carry out further research into the creation of animated logos relevant to your theme. Develop and plan animated logo ideas on paper before you go into the digital environment. production plan, script, storyboard, animatics. Develop your ideas experimentally in the digital environment, noting your findings from you development, using screen shots. Develop your final animated sequence using Photoshop and/or Flash. Keep a journal of everything you do. Check that you are achieving the assessment criteria at regular intervals.

Produce Research: Which supports your intentions Planning: Extensive paper based planning, including, initial ideas, script, production plan, storyboards, animatics, etc. Development: Sketch out your ideas on paper Develop production plan and scripts Create detailed storyboards Experiment with animatics Create final animation Analysis: Use your journal, sketchbook and screen prints to record the developmental process Peer feedback Overall reflection and evaluation.
