I went to the skeleton domed building in Hiroshima which stands to commemorate the dropping of the atomic bomb. A lot of pictures at that time were being displayed in the dome. Germany -- Germans were friendly, energetic (they walked a lot), clean (they even cleaned their streets), I loved the history and traditions. If I could have stayed there I would have. It was a real culture shock to move to the States. I went to the Holocaust museum and learned a lot there the language barrier was not as hindering as I thought we also visited historic spots such as Forts, Pony express stations and part of the underground railroad where slaves stayed on their trip to freedom. I went to the border of North Korea and South Korea. Over there I was told there is a soldier who has a shot gun because this is a borderland. So I think Korea is not at peace. I am glad to be Japanese When I went shopping with the young people who study Japanese at the language school in Korea I was surprised that the Korean students can use Japanese young people s slang. SO I taught them several words. how cruel the atomic bomb is. After the half a century has passed still now there are many people who are suffering from radiation illnesses. I was shocked at the people who got serious skin burns on their faces and bodies, and I was impressed very much by the people conveyed the sorrow and cruelty of the atomic bomb to the children. at the preparation study, we studied the cruel events of war which I did not know yet, and at Okinawa I saw the bomb shelter and the memorial with my own eyes and I feel deeply that we must never make war again.
