I went to the skeleton domed building in Hiroshima which stands to commemorate the dropping of the atomic bomb. A lot of pictures at that time were being displayed in the dome. I was able to know the tragic conditions at the time, I thought we must not go to war to say nothing of making a nuclear attack again. navy training Germany, I learned how to get along in a society where I don t speak the language Peace memorials Military formation (said by 2 people) In Hiroshima I studied about the atomic bomb. I went to the Peace Memorial Museum and heard the story. I had even read the historical sources but couldn t know the horror of war without visiting there. In Okinawa, as one of the most damaged cities, I heard the story from a person who lived in wartime. I also went into the bomb shelter. So I learned the horror of war and the importance of peace (life). I studied the atomic bomb, the Japanese way of life and culture in the isolation period I had a reception with high school students in Korea. I learned the importance of a culture and international exchang n school trips in Junior High and High School I went to Hiroshima and knew the state of an atomic bomb victim I studied about history. In Okinawa I learned about the war In Nagasaki I saw the traces of the atomic bomb and heard the story about its victims a lot. I heard the story from the local guides and it left a impression of the scene in Nagasaki city on my mind. Spirit of Marine Corps! I found the Vietnam memorial to be very touching. Jamaica: I learned that other places are not as fortunate as U.S. and we should visit them to raise awareness I learned about China and their culture I learned about the Carribean and identified a lot of fish, sea life cultural lessons on international trips mexico: I learned about extreme poverty in the urban areas of an otherwise wealthy city. I realized that it s possible to be content without having many material possessions I learned how cold and hard Russia can be. And, although poor, they have museums filled with gold. I learned that perceptions of a culture/country is very different from what one thought once visiting a country and that people s perception of the people of the U.S. are often misconstrued

About the war (Nagasaki) I visited Himeyuri monument and studied about the war before visiting there. I was able to know the horrors of war In Okinawa I went into a bomb shelter for the first time. It was dark and quite different from what I had ever heard. I learned about history in the shelter. It shocked me. I would not understand if I didn t go there. felt how terrible the war was in Nagasaki It was a good opportunity to have contact with foreigners (Hawaii) When we went to Okinawa in high school we studied many things about the war. Actually we went into an air raid shelter Peace Heiwa The horror of war In a junior high school trip I studied history, war culture and many other things in Okinawa In the high school trip we went to Okinawa and studied about war I studied the atomic bomb in Nagasaki. It was a good opportunity for me to being considering war About the war (2 different people) International social behavior can be quite confusing and intriguing the main purpose of the trips of both is to learn and appreciate Korean Culture In Mexico I saw some of the terrible poverty there, and racism directed against native Mexicans. I saw a bullfight with protesters opposed to the fight (Americans) and was torn about the question of whether or not it should have taken place, because I valued the rights of the people to manifest their culture, but also recognized the right of the bull french and sign language, french and french canadian culture and history Germany-- I learned the language Paris -- Napoleon and Louis XVI Rothenburg Germany -- Crime and punishment tactics used in medieval era Gettysburg--about the civil war/battle in Germany I learned about the Berlin Wall and Germany s involvement w/wwi and WWII Gettysburg -- the battle of Gettysburg is the bloodiest battle that determined the war Italy -- loved the art, people, buildings, way of life, climate England- I was amazed at how polite people were, they even stood in line for taxis -- no one pushed

We did research about it which was good We went to the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshim and we studied the horror of war In Hiroshima we learned the importance of peace. We studied the atomic holocaust, the extent of the damage, aftereffects of the atomic bomb, the process and people suffered from the war. I though we must not run over into the tragedy of war again In Okinawa we studied peace. I learned how terrible the war was and noticed the importance of peace. I thought about what true peace was In junior high school we studied peace. In Hiroshima we learned about the atomic disaster, listened to the story of atomic bomb survivors. The trip got me thinking Before going to Hiroshima, all the pupils in our school made origami cranes and and made a thousand of them. Germany -- Germans were friendly, energetic (they walked a lot), clean (they even cleaned their streets), I loved the history and traditions. If I could have stayed there I would have. It was a real culture shock to move to the States. I went to the Holocaust museum and learned a lot there the language barrier was not as hindering as I thought we also visited historic spots such as Forts, Pony express stations and part of the underground railroad where slaves stayed on their trip to freedom. This had a profound effect on me. gettysburg -- don t remember much history because I was so young but I remember being there. gettysburg --historical importance Austria -- how they had supported Nazi Germany until they were then rewarded @how wrong they were. Italy -- their involvement in WWI -- switching sides@ last minute. Very rich culture -- emphasis on beauty in food and??? way of life learned about the Civil War, Paul Revere etc. visited monuments, learned about monuments and wars also the culture of the areas we visited New York City - w/model United Nations. Learned history, international studies, food of NY and met people

In the junior high school trip I leaned about the atomic holocaust About the atomic bombs The horrors of war When I was in Junior High School I went to the Atomic Bomb Dome in Nagasaki and listened to survivors of an atomic bombing. I learned about the atomic holocaust We learned about the atomic holocaust and horror of war in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Hiroshima twice and realized the situation of the people who suffered with the bombs history especially the war in Okinawa in detail. Listened to the survivor stories about the bomb. Not a professional like in Hiroshima, but in Nagasaki it was ordinary people. Exotic atmosphere in Nagasaki about war in Nagasaki Okinawa: Visited the Nursing students memorial. Before Okinawa we learned through videos about the war so we learned a lot about the sorrow of war. Went into a bomb shelter. First experience with that. So dark but huge. Under the bomb shelter we listened to the history of the war. Was very shocked. Okinawa I realized I would never learn without visiting History of Japan in Hiroshima museum and Kamkura The tragedy of the Pacific War civil war tributes holocaust Gettysburg international -- learned about other cultur In Europe, I was exposed to foreign cultures, languages, foods, people and big city life I learned to speak some French and how impolite the French are Gettysburg -- able to see military strategies Washington DC -- saw monuments, learned about wars, went to museums, learned about the holocaust Washington DC Museums -- I learned about the Holocast how people live in Australia -- how they are different from us I went to Hawaii last year and learned a lot about Polynesian culture and the tropical environment I learned much more about WWII going to Poland Gettysburg -- ugliness of war thanks to Brady photos on Signage

Studied atomic bomb in Hiroshima. Learned not only from materials and the food, but learned the actual experience by visiting the museum and listening to the story about the fear of war. At Okinawa she listened to the stories of the survivors of the war and visited the bomb shelter, peace and life and the tragedy of war. The fact that Okinawa is the most damaged city during the world war. JH learned about the atomic bomb and Japanese life and literature of the Edo period, because it was a closed country HS Experienced an exchange program with Korean HS students and learned the culture and the importance of international exchange Thought we never should fight a war by listening to the experience of people who have really lived through it. JH I visited Nagasaki and learned the fear of the atomic bomb variety of histories importance of peace HS I got complex feelings visiting the war memorial museum mixing with the local Korean people. It is not good to ignore the history but I feel uncomfortable to see directly things which I don t want to see. Visited Hiroshima in elementary school and Nagasaki and Junior High school. Both places are known for the atomic bomb. I think I learned a lot about the big influence of the war. Both JH and HS the travel was focused on peace education so I learned about the atomic bomb and land battles in Okinawa. I went to the border of North Korea and South Korea. Over there I was told there is a soldier who has a shot gun because this is a borderland. So I think Korea is not at peace. I am glad to be Japanese When I went shopping with the young people who study Japanese at the language school in Korea I was surprised that the Korean students can use Japanese young people s slang. SO I taught them several words. how cruel the atomic bomb is. After the half a century has passed still now there are many people who are suffering from radiation illnesses. I was shocked at the people who got serious skin burns on their faces and bodies, and I was impressed very much by the people conveyed the sorrow and cruelty of the atomic bomb to the children. at the preparation study, we studied the cruel events of war which I did not know yet, and at Okinawa I saw the bomb shelter and the memorial with my own eyes and I feel deeply that we must never make war again. I think again about the cruelty of the war by seeing the nurses memorial etc. The history of Okinawa: I learned the history of Okinawa by visiting the nurses memorial and especially I learned the fearfulness of war. It was my first time to know the cruelty of the atomic bomb when I listened to the story from the atomic bomb survivor in Nagasaki directly. There were some students who listened to the story crying I went to many places which were violated in World War II so I learned the importance of peace,

about culture. I was surprised that when I visited the historical museum in Singapore. I saw the display about the atomic bomb in Japan. The bus guide mentioned about a variety of stories during the whole tour. The place regarding the Okinawa battle, for example the bomb shelter and the American base At the High school trip we learned a lot about the history and present situation of Okinawa The situation of Okinawa between Japan and America I understand the fear of the atomic bomb disease I understand the people s anger towards the ABCC the wartime alliance name in Japanese I realized the fear of war when I went down into the bomb shelter which was used during the Okinawa battle. I realized the worth of the word Peace by visiting the atomic bomb memorial museum and to see the fear of the atomic bomb. We went to the foreigners cemetery and we learned about the oppression of Christianity so I found the change of the Japanese culture comparing the present because we are not so religious now.
