Trainer Introduction Samantha Phillips PMMI Certified Technical Trainer Samantha is a retired U.S. Navy Electronics Technician. While serving, she maintained and serviced a variety of electronic equipment and finished her U.S. Navy career as a Navy Certified Technical Trainer. Samantha began her MULTIVAC career in 2006 where she quickly became a MULTIVAC Factory Certified Technical Trainer and later a PMMI Certified Trainer. Samantha provides factory training in all aspects of machine operation and maintenance, control, troubleshooting, and safety to our customers, as well as to our Field Service Technicians. Ted Aubut PMMI Certified Technical Trainer Ted brings more than 25 years of experience in the processing and packaging industries. Ted began his electronics career in the military as an Aviation Electronics Technician for the U.S. Navy. Upon leaving the military, he worked in a variety of positions ranging from a Maintenance Manager for a specialty cheese company to an OEM Factory Trained Field Service Technician in the vacuum packaging industry, as well as a Service Department Manager. Throughout his career, Ted developed a tremendous knowledge base in packaging equipment and various related applications. Craig Tyler Technical Trainer Craig brings a diverse background to MULTIVAC University. His education and experience include electrical mechanics, electrical technologies with emphasis in manufacturing processes, pneumatics, components and design, and hydraulic. Craig has built his knowledge and experience through a background in the field of training. Craig has spent time developing and conducting courses for customers such as the U.S. Armed Forces, three of the top four Class-1 railroads, as well as a host of groups in the different energy and municipality sectors. Craig is uniquely positioned to provide customers with any level of training needed. K.C. Davis Technical Trainer K.C. began his electronics career as an Aviation Electronics Technician in the U.S. Navy, repairing Deceptive Electronic Countermeasures. After completing his Navy service, K.C. furthered his electronics career with Garmin. He joined the MULTIVAC team in 2010 as a Field Service Technician and quickly earned the Rookie of the Year Award for the West Region. Utilizing his technical knowledge and proper machine configurations, K.C. spent time working as a Technical Sales Advisor for the MULTIVAC Sales Administration Team. He has four years of experience as a Technical Trainer, providing training to our customers and our Field Service Technicians. 1

Fundamentals of MULTIVAC Thermoformers Advanced MULTIVAC Thermoformers Machine operators, maintenance technicians, supervisors, and other personnel responsible for package quality. Experienced maintenance technicians, plant engineers, and supervisors responsible for maintenance of MULTIVAC thermoformers. We recommend completing the Fundamentals of Thermoformers course prior to this course. MULTIVAC University students will receive training on how to operate the machine safely and confidently. The student will learn the machine functions and key components, including the processes and controls. They will learn how to create and save new recipes, allowing your organization to optimize the machine s throughput. MULTIVAC University students will receive training on electrical, pneumatic and vacuum in machines. Focusing on helping students understand machine processes, this course will demonstrate how they relate to technical drawings. Students will learn how to improve machine reliability and performance through conducting recommended maintenance. By learning diagnostic tools and troubleshooting tips, the student will be able to take the proper steps to reduce downtime. I found that this class was unequivocally one of the best classes I have taken in all 30 years of doing business. 3 4

Preventive Maintenance of MULTIVAC Thermoformers Maintenance technicians and supervisors responsible for maintenance of MULTIVAC thermoformers. MULTIVAC University students will receive training to enable safe and confident machine maintenance. Students will learn the recommended maintenance tasks and frequency to maintain machine reliability and performance. By maintaining the machine properly, students will be able to contribute to a measurable reduction in machine downtime. Instructor is very knowledgable and made the learning process easy. 5

Fundamentals of MULTIVAC Semi-Automatic Traysealers Fundamentals of MULTIVAC Automatic Traysealers Machine operators, maintenance technicians and superivisors responsible for maintenance of MULTIVAC traysealers. Machine operators, maintenance technicians, and supervisors responsible for maintenance of MULTIVAC traysealers. MULTIVAC University students will leave training with the ability to operate the entire machine safely and confidently. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum, as well as technical drawings. Focus will be placed on the machine functions and key machine components. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to improve machine reliability and performance, as well as conduct maintenance. They will learn to reduce downtime using rapid troubleshooting tips. Also, students learn how to quickly create new programs and recipes and save them to memory for quick recall. MULTIVAC University students will leave training with the ability to operate the entire machine safely and confidently. We recommend completing the Fundamentals of Thermoformers MC9X course prior to this course. MULTIVAC University students will receive training on electrical, pneumatic and vacuum. Focusing on helping students understand machine processes, this course will demonstrate how the processes relate to technical drawings. Students will learn how to improve machine reliability and performance by conducting recommended maintenance. By learning diagnostic tools and troubleshooting tips, the student will be able to take the proper steps to reduce downtime.
