Teaching notes Capacity year one Water play is an important area of the curriculum so provide children with as many opportunities as possible to explore measuring water without standard measures, for example, ordering containers by how much water they hold, how many of one container it takes to fill up another, or how many spoonfuls to fill up a yogurt pot.
