Make an acrylic template of each pattern. or piecing success, we suggest that you mark the dots and the seam lines on the wrong side of each patch. 2. Referring to the block diagrams, join the patches in the fabrics indicated. Pay close attention to fabric placement, which is critical for the overall design. Hint: Match dots and drawn seam lines when joining patches. To sew a quarter circle patch to the circle background, position the quarter circle on top of the background patch, right sides together. Match and pin the center dots, then match and pin the ends of the seam lines. Stitch along the seam line to the edges. Press seam allowances toward the background patch. Make the correct number of blocks shown. 3. Referring to the Quilt iagram, arrange the blocks in order into 12 horizontal rows. Be sure to rotate the blocks as needed to form the overall design. Note that there are 5 row Y with blocks in the same order, and 5 row Z with blocks in a different order. The bottom row is the same as the top row, but it is rotated upside down. Once you are satisfied, join the blocks in rows. oin the rows. inishing the Quilt 5. ayer the quilt with batting and backing and baste. Quilt in the ditch around block patches. Quilt the larger patches as you wish. Bind to finish the quilt.
