The heating is intended for the installation in protective cabinets of min. 70 L, especially 70 L and 150 L are available as standard. The system also includes the heated supply lines for the armatures in the protective cabinet. The viewing of the heat conductor loop comprehends both, its thermal behaviour inside as well as outside of the protective cabinet. The max. heat capacity in the protective cabinets amounts about 388 W. Outside approx. 18 W maximum are available per meter heating cable. E R I C H OTTT T 1.0 AREA OF APPLICATION Characteristics System cabinet for protective cabinet heating No internal Ex-viewing necessary anymore Flexible heating cable length adaption by means of variable voltage control One component less necessary than at comparable protective systems because of series connection The protective cabinet heating systems of the type Ex SSB70 and Ex SSB150 are used for the heating of installations and piping systens in zone 1 and higher. Typical is the heating of stubs of a temperature critical media current, which can be led to a display device or an analysing device into a protective cabinet to be heated. To cover the heating demand of both, fluid supply and instrument installation at inadmissible low ambient temperatures, the protective cabinet heating system is used. The ususal heating functions are frost protection or the holding of a min. admissible temperatore of up to +40 C. This consists of a series connection of voltage controller with controllable or fix holding temperature (TR.70-210/ AT) heating element with controller and limiter function (HKA../100 AT) and a heat conductor loop, which is connected by use of a connection fitting of the type Ex GHL-ALAT. Because of the series connection it is secured, that a switch or limiter function affects on the complete heating circuit. For heating cable lengths of approx. 19m the combination of HKA 33/100 AT and mineral isolated heat conductors with a specific resistance of 1600 Ω/km (Type A) is recommended. For heat conductor lengths from 17 m to 29 m the combination of HKA 20/100 AT and mineral isolated heating cables with a specific resistance of 1000 Ω/km (Type B) is recommended. To provide the used components according to your specifications, the voltage controller is uses as variable voltage source. The max. admissible values to be adjusted must be chosen according to the used components. The necessary indications concerning this can be found in this operating manual. The typical application pertains to frost protection or the holding of a setpoint temperature of up to max. +40 C. The safety-related view also includes typical installations of the mineral isolated heating cable outside the protective cabinet. This runs in the outdoor area under a maximal 40 mm thick mineral isolation, paralles to cables made of rust resistant stainless steel or other metals. The function of the protective cabinet is to make a thermal separation of the ambient temperature and the objects to be heated possible. Similarly this helps to protect the installation from atmospheric influences. The protective cabinet is specified, due to its demands like thermal and electrostatic conductance, ambient temperature range and dimensions. 2.0 SYSTEM COMPONENTS 1. Protective cabinet 150 L 2. E R I C H OTTT T 5.1 TYPE CODE 6.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Ex SSB 1 2 3 4 5 The installation instructions of the individual components must be observed. You will find these in the respective operating manual. To fulfil the manifestations and technical data in each operating manual, attention should be paid the following notes: 1 2 70 70 L protective cabinet 150 150 L protective cabinet 1 2 Ex TRSC 210/ 5-70A AT With thermal fuse and temperature adjustment Ex TRSC 210/..A AT With therma fuse and fix temperature between 5-70 C. The lengths of the respective connection cables are 1,2 m and they are made of silicone. If desired, also PTFE-connection cables are available, both variants alternatively available with protective hose. Example: 150L protective cabinet with TRSC fix adjusted voltage and variable temperature adjustment. Heat conductor sleeve GHL in standard version (also see operating manual GHL). Radiator HKA33/100AT + 1600 Ω/km MI heating cable and 18 m heating cable length: Ex SSB 150 1 _ B 18 1 2 3 4 5 The mounting of the radiator and the rest of the installation must be carried out in accordance with the diagrams chapter 6.1-6.4. The heat conductor sleeve must always be installed below the radiator, see diagram chapter 6.1-6.4. Limit the maximum heating cable length in the cabinet to approx. 0,6m. If mounted horizontally the through heating in the cabinet is most regular. For this variant the GHL-ALAT is necessary. Do not lay heat conductor loops horizontally in loops, as then the thermal heats cumulate. Do not lay the heating cables on top of each other but always seperately. Lay heating cables in the protective cabinet without isolation. The indications on max. insulation strength and temperature of the medium in the pipelines to be heated must be complied with. The Ex GHL-ALAT must be self-assembled according to the enclosed operating manual. The connection fitting must always be installaed below the radiator with a lateral minimum distance of 3,5 cm, see picture 6.1. The circuit shall be secured with max. 7 A. The set temperature at the Ex TRS.70-210/... AT may not exceed +40 C. The series current must be adusted to o max. 3,35 A (Ex HKA33/100AT), or rather o max. 4,25 A (Ex HKA20/100AT) o For this purpose the voltage controller must be set on 100 V before putting into operation. The minimum value of 70 V should be used only cautiously, as the used potentiometer does not tolerate higher controlling torques (max. 0,5 Ncm). Rev up the voltage at the potentiometer so far until the max. permissible current is reached. The connection of the free conductor ends must be carried out in a suitable, also certified terminal box. Note: If the heating needs is lower than the according values, also other cable lengths can be installed. For the combination 2 at 40m heat conductor length still approx. 255 W heat capacity in the protective cabinet and 12,2 W/m at the heating cables are available. The indicated nominal current can, at longer heat conductor lengths than indicated, not be reached. In this case the max. ouput voltage must be adjusted at 4
