Once you have all your squares made, you ll need to join them in the configuration below. There are a few ways that you can join your squares for this design I used the invisible join method. (there are many great tutorials out there on the web if you re unsure!) Once all 16 squares are joined, DC around the entire piece, working 2dc in each chain 2 space along the sides and (2dc ch2, 2dc) into the four corners.
Now to work the back of the cushion! The back piece is super simple- it s just one continuous solid granny square! Following the one colour square on page one, continue to add additional rounds until your piece reaches the same size as your front piece. Before you join the two squares together, SC around each of the pieces, (3 SC) in the corners. These single crochet stitches will be used to join the pieces together in the next step! Now to join! Once again using Invisible join method, sew the front and back pieces wrong sides together! Once the third side is completed, insert the cushion and continue to sew the opening closed. And you re done!
