2½" Step 1 Parts & Tools Overview Getting Started Stationary Arch First, make sure you have all the parts and tools required to install your shades. ALL THE HARDWARE YOU LL NEED: Pencil, screw-driver, ¼ nut driver, level, and a drill with a 1 16 drill bit. Arch Clip Then find wooden studs where you ll want to attach the brackets; if you need to mount your shades to wallboard or plaster, use a secure fastener designed for hollow wall applications. For metal surfaces, pre-drill holes and use the included screws. For concrete, stone, brick, or tile surfaces, use a masonry drill and appropriate plugs, anchors, or screws. It s important when selecting a fastener to make sure it s designed to support the weight of the shade. Follow the fastener manufacturer s instruction from there on out. Step 2 Installation Standard Mounting Using the installation bracket as a template, measure to the edge of the bracket and mark the hole locations with a pencil for drilling. 1 1 4 Hex Head Screw BRACKET SCHEDULE BRACKET QTY Side mount (optional) SHADE WIDTH 2 up to 40" 3 401/8" 72" 4 721/8" and up Top Clip Step 3 Assemble the Shade Remove the end caps from the rail. Slide the fabric stack into the middle of the bottom rail. Fan out the fabric and slide the free stiffened cell of the fabric into the rail. Arch Mount end brackets 3" from each side. Note: On arches which are not perfect half circles, one end of the fabric has a straight edge and the other has a Space any remaining brackets evenly. Make sure that all brackets are aligned and level. Step 6 Installing the Shade Step 6 Installing the Shade Standard s Hold the shade up near the brackets and insert the front clip of the bracket into the front groove of the rail. Push the rail back and down until the back clips of the bracket are inserted in the back groove of the rail. Slide the archtop rail onto the brackets on the rail of the rectangular shade. (Center bracket must not move off center) Remove the end cap from the opposite end of the rectangular shade rail.
