Hoke Graham GET READY --- GET READY ------ Our 2018 "Vette Spectacular" show will be here in just three short months! Our all Corvette show is one of the best in the South (just ask any of the past attendees). We need sponsors to donate door prizes, silent auction items, trophies, and $$$$$$$$. If you have a business or friend that would like to help as a sponsor, we will decorate our show shirts with their logo and make it a point to give them recognition at the show. In years past, our generous club members have sponsored a trophy for; best paint, best engine, best interior, best supercharged car, etc. The cost of the trophy is $50.00. Please be thinking about the show and talk it up to your friends. Don t forget to invite them to the show as well. Tell them about all the beautiful Corvettes on display and the good food we will be serving (Smoked Boston Butt sandwiches, ice cream, etc.). We still need everyone to hand out fliers at other shows and at cruise-ins to stir up excitement. As we have in the past, I hope we can write a generous check this year to our charity, "Magic Moments". It takes a lot of work and planning (but we have fun too) to make this show a success. Our club members work hard to make it all happen. As always -- thanks for being a part of our wonderful club, drive your Corvette and have fun. Hoke

Johnny Dunn We have had a great start to 2018. Now that we are heading into the Spring time, we are looking forward to the warmer weather and beautiful driving days ahead. Our World of Wheels event in early February was a huge success! There was a great turn out and our raffling of the kid size race car, as well as the 2-giant size remote control cars, was a huge hit. The kids loved the race car and everyone loved the remote-control cars. Between the selling hype of our ticket sellers and the excitement over the cars, the tickets sales made this fund raiser a hit. All the proceeds from the sale of these tickets go to our charity Magic Moments which makes it possible for us to help Children s Hospital make some wishes come true. Again, I want to thank everyone who helped make this year s World of Wheels a success. It is only because of the great people we have in our club that we can make these things happen! And speaking of success. our Valentine event was great! Everyone had so much fun. The women out did themselves once again on this event. All the hard work is very much appreciated. I can t say enough about all our volunteers, but our women stand out at the top. The next few months will be full of more gatherings and outings and preparing for our Vette Spectacular in June. Looking forward to seeing everyone at these events and having a great time together! As always, if you have any questions or suggestions do not hesitate to contact me. Here s to a Spring of great weather and lots of driving! Johnny Dunn

Next Meeting: March 18. Eat @ 1pm, Meet @ 2pm. We have a NEW Club Meeting place at the "NEW" GOLDEN RULE BBQ : 309 Huntley Parkway, Pelham Al.

SOCIAL CHAIR PAGE MACC Upcoming Events February MACC Events in Review Several of our MACC members had a great time at the Mardi Gras Parade in Biloxi this year. They caught lots of freebies and, of course, loads of beads, tossed from all the beautifully decorated floats. And some members won money at the casinos! To celebrate Valentine s Day, we had a wonderful dinner at The Club. Not only was the food great and the view spectacular, but our MACC Men s Chorus also serenaded their wives with Let Me Call You Sweetheart. It looks like beautiful spring weather is on the way, so get your Corvettes out of the garage and join our MACC members for the upcoming events listed below. MACC Sunshine Chair would like to wish everyone in March and April A beautiful Happy Birthday or a wonderful Happy Anniversary Birthdays for March/April: Anniversaries for March/April:

The National Corvette Museum was started by a group of Corvette enthusiasts who wanted a place to house the history of the Corvette. That history is not just what's under the hood and the curves of the fiberglass, but the people behind the car. It is about the people who supported the car by purchasing it, creating clubs to celebrate it and eventually established a museum to educate the public about it. The Museum not only tells the history, but is a place to tell the stories of owner s love of the car. The Museum, a 501c3 nonprofit foundation, offers many ways to acknowledge and celebrate those who have a passion for Corvette and the Museum. There are ways you can show your love and honor which will be remembered for years to come. There are various tax-deductible recognition programs available. Frederick Atkins

ROADTRIP Wow-Oh-Wow what a way to enjoy the spring weather. On Saturday, March 3, 15 cars met at the Walmart parking lot in Springville, AL at 9am and headed out for a fun day in the sun. Destination...Ft Payne, AL. Wayne Allen led the cruise. We stopped by two waterfalls on the way (Noccalula Falls and Little River Canyon and Falls). The sun was warm and the water was flowing. Photo ops were had by all. We continued down the road and had lunch at the Strand in downtown Ft. Payne. This was a unique place for lunch. It was an old Soda Fountain/Antique Store. We moseyed over to see Terry Locklear at the old Coca Cola Plant to view his Corvette collection. Then it was over to see another Corvette collection a few blocks down. It may have been a little too cold to go topless, but it was a fun day driving our Corvettes!
