Technology Offer A Spanish research centre offers a non- destructive analysis of objects from different nature using an X-ray micro-computed tomography technical platform and seeks technical, research, and services agreements. Summary A Spanish research centre, with activity in the field of human evolution, offers a non- destructive analysis of objects from different nature using an X-ray micro-computed tomography technical platform and seeks technical, research, and services agreements. Creation Date 11 October 2017 Last Update 24 October 2017 Expiration Date 24 October 2018 Reference TOES20171011002 Details Description The Spanish research centre, belongs to the national network of Unique Scientific & Technical Infrastructures (ICTS). It is open to scientific and technological use by the national and international scientific and technological community. Its research activities are mainly focus on human evolution, and include collaborative projects at excavations and deposits worldwide. The centre has developed a system of quality management based on ISO 9001 standards and, in the case of testing laboratories, also on the ISO / IEC 17025 standards, as a tool for creating value for the organization and for users of the infrastructure. The computed tomography technique offered is an X-ray imaging technique that allows scanning, exploration, and 3D modelling of samples. It is a non-destructive technique whose fundamental is the virtual reconstruction of sections of an object from the radiographs acquired along 360º. The analysis of the output images provides qualitative and quantitative results in terms of density profile, defects inspections, particles dispersion, porosity, volume, dimensional control, etc. The technique shows a wide field of application, being among others: materials science, biology, medicine, geology, archaeology, cultural heritage, etc. The micro-computed tomography equipment scans samples with a maximum height of 42cm, a maximum diameter of 20cm, and a maximum weight of 10 Kg. It hosts two different tubes: the microfocus (240 KV, resolution = 1 micron) and the nanofocus (180KV, resolution = 0.5 Ref: TOES20171011002 Page 1 of 4

microns). With this technology, the user can get: the digital scanning in 2D and 3D of the part, advice on image analysis, digital image analysis, use, by the client, of image analysis software to analyse their data, etc. The Spanish public institution is seeking for researchers, universities, research centers, and companies interested in using their facilities as well as to establish agreements and research projects with them. Advantages and Innovations The main advantage of the micro-computed tomography technique is its non-destructive nature, so that, you can analyse the piece, getting both, visual and numerical (quantitative) information of all its volume, without breaking it. This aspect is very important in any research field, since you preserve the piece intact without having to destroy it. Technology Request Fluorine free firefighting foam Summary An Israeli chemical company is seeking an innovative fluorine free firefighting foam. Identified technologies that meet the Israeli's company basic criteria (see description section) will receive funding to mature the technology if required, or be considered for licensing. collaborations can include research, license, or commercial with technical assistance agreements. Creation Date 18 September 2017 Last Update 17 October 2017 Expiration Date 11 October 2018 Reference TRIL20170918003 Details Description A technology incubator for an Israeli chemical company seeks a fluorine free surfactant, stabilizer or other additive as an alternative to fluorosurfactans in firefighting foam concentrates (AFFF). Background: Fire Fighting foam concentrate is a complex formulation of different solvents, surfactants and other additives. AFFF is a special type of Fire Fighting foam concentrate which contains fluorosurfactants and fluoropolymers in the formulation. Fluorosurfactants reduce surface tension, give the oleophobic effect to the foam and make it heat resistant. The Israeli company is currently looking for fluorine free alternatives in order to expand their product line. Identified technologies that meet the Israeli's company basic criteria explained here, will receive funding to mature the technology if required, or be considered for licensing. Thus the collaboration can include funded research, shared development or exclusive IP licensing. Technical Specification or Expertise Sought Relevant criteria: * Comparable performance to fluorine containing AFFF * Does not add cost compared with fluorosurfactants * Commercially available materials or produced through simple and scalable synthesis * Complies with relevant regulations * Safe to use Stage of Development Under development/lab tested Comments Regarding Stage of Development Ref: TRIL20170918003 Page 1 of 4

Technology Offer Summary Building structure earthquake securing device Czech company specialized in construction work and masonry developed an innovative building structure earthquake securing device. Developed device should protect buildings in the areas with a risk of damage due to the effects of vibrations, operating activity in its vicinity, alternatively an earthquake. The company is offering license agreement to the construction companies, engineering companies and other interested entities. Creation Date 02 November 2016 Last Update 28 December 2016 Expiration Date 28 December 2017 Reference TOCZ20161101001 Details Description Czech construction and research company developed unique device for securing a building from earhquake. The benefit of the new building structure securing device lies in the fact that it is situated in the interior of the building construction and thus it does not increase the dimenstions of the construction. At present differently solid steel frames mutually connected by stretching screws are used to secure building constructions. These are placed on the external surface of the building objects walls, which brings an array of drawbacks. Besides the esthetic aspect there is maily a problem of protruding steel elements of the securing construction. These elements expand the areal dimension of the construction and their sharp edges can cause injuries and damage of the machinery operating around. The building structure securing devide can applied as a supplementary addition to the stabilization measures in case of variously damaged constructions. It can also be used as a preventive measure in places where a damage is supposed. The company registered an utility model for this device. The company offers license agreement and is ready to transfer the rights involving the authorization. The company also offers initial technical support. The suitable partner can be any construction company, engineering company or representatives of cities and towns. Advantages and Innovations The advantage of the building structure securing device lies in the fact that it is situated in the interior of the building construction and thus it does not increase the dimenstions of the construction. A remarkable increase in resistance of the objects to the destructive impacts of earthquakes, Ref: TOCZ20161101001 Page 1 of 4

vibration, alternatively subsiding in the undermined areas. It can be applied on any object. - recovery element is supplemented with a force sewing of fissures, sewing crack technology - supplementary integration of the technolgy in case of objects in endangered areas - to integrated the technology on the objects that are going to be built in presumptive dangerous areas - prestressed elements largely avert a total destruction - higher probability of decrease of casualties - reinforced groove increases effectiveness of the prestressed element, it increases toughness of the object - supplementary integration of stiffening elements is not costly and it is easily realizable.
