Welcome back! It's Owen here again. In this video, we'll discuss how you can circumvent negative thoughts about money and attract an abundance of it at the same time. Do these following refrains sound familiar to you? "My life is so unfair." "Money is the root of all evil." "If I had a lot of money I would be happier than I am now." All of these are actually myths that come from a lifetime of negative money mindsets based on something called verbal programming. Think about it: since you wanted more success, you applied yourself wholeheartedly and did everything everyone was telling you to do. However, even though you were doing everything right, success is slow to come. You tried your best to learn things that you should know in order to get where you want to be. You were in the right places at the right time, saying and doing the right things but often things do not seem as if they are improving. This is in stark contrast to when you were first starting out on the idea of achieving success. You found satisfaction at every turn but the crux of the matter was that those expectations you were fulfilling were NOT yours to begin with. Parents, teachers, mentors, people you surrounded yourself with, were the ones who laid out the ground rules for success. Be punctual. Always do your best. Work hard. Strive for perfection. Go the extra mile. No pain, no gain. Never give up.
Overcoming these steps gave you the high you needed to acquire short-term goals but they did not lead to where you saw yourself. Finding satisfaction and gaining approval from those who laid out those rules waned as they did not yield the results you were promised. When you stood back you grew disheartened when you realized that the principles outlined did not bring you any real success. To make things worse, you started to encounter those who went off the beaten track found success by not following the formula you had been so adamantly following and applying. So you found yourself asking: "What did I do wrong?" "How can those who are not working as hard be achieving way more than I am?" "My expensive education was useless." "What do those financially successful people have that I don t know?" "Is doing my best still not enough?" When you are doing everything in your power to attain success and it refuses to come, it is natural to feel frustrated, defensive and even angry. You may also find yourself condemning the financial success your more successful peers attained simply because it is too painful to watch them living the life that continues to elude you. Many even come to the debilitating conclusion that they are victims of a conspiracy; that society is actually trying to sabotage them, and have succeeded in doing so. All this 'verbal programming' has done is to make you believe that you need money equals success. And since you don't have enough of money, you're not successful. However, let me assure you that nothing like that is responsible for depriving you of what you desire most. Money, or the lack thereof, is not holding you back. No one can prevent your success. Except yourself. It is all in your conscious control.
For instance, it is very natural to believe that external factors are preventing you from living the life you desire. You believe that you cannot be the one preventing your own success so the only reason why you have not achieved yours is because others are preventing it from reaching you. However, while blaming others for your own flaws might make you feel better compared to assuming responsibility for your own life, it will render you powerless. In other words, believing that something outside of yourself is the reason for your lack of success will render you incapable of changing. Why allow uncontrollable circumstances to control your destiny? When you wish for success, but are not experiencing it, you ultimately realize that something is very wrong. As these feelings of discord increase, so does the awareness that you are not getting what you want from life. This triggers other negative assumptions such as envy at those who are attaining more success than you; resentment for those who you think are to blame for your failures and even self denigration, or belittling your own abilities, which is the most counterproductive of them all. This emotional upheaval and discomfort is a powerful way of your psyche telling you that something is wrong. We also admit that this discomfort is normal and the perfect response when we feel a lack of success. Life is supposed to go in an upward direction and when it does not, something is wrong. However, what is wrong is not that you have suffered an injustice or that fate dealt you a bad hand. What is wrong is that you are out sync with your own Being, i.e. who you really are with what life has compelled you to ask for. In other words, the anomaly is internal, not external and you do have control over it. Taking control of your life is not difficult either once you come to realize who you are and the basics of the value of your personal guidance system which you were born with. In order to realize this, you first need to understand that money and financial success are not the root of all evil as many would have you believe. Attaining a lot of money will not necessarily set you on the path of success either. However, it is still a vital and large factor in your vibrational makeup and in your attractive traits since it touches most of us several thousand times a day.
When we say vibration we are speaking about the basis of your experience. Now imagine if you can take control of that influence, if you can harness something that affects you almost the entire day, every day. You will accomplish something quite remarkable if you are successful in this. Since most of your thoughts revolve around money most of the day, deliberately guiding those thoughts will not only improve your financial success, but the evidence of said success will affect every aspect of your life. To do this you need to consciously create your own reality and take control of your life experiences. You have to accept the fact that you are here on this planet to live an expansive, fulfilling and exhilarating life. This was your plan when you decided to focus on yourself at the beginning of your journey. You thought it would be exciting and exhilarating and you know that your desires would be manifested. Most of all, you knew that you were entering into this life with an instinctual system that would help you remain true to your true intentions. Each of us has this embedded in our subconscious mind and it is this, more than anything else that determines our financial destiny. I want to introduce you to a critical formula that can help you determine how you make your wealth and reality manifest. I call it the process of manifestation and it goes something like this. Thoughts lead to feelings which lead to action which leads to results. Now your embedded instinctual system depends on this process. It is reliant on a combination of thoughts, feelings, and actions that lead to results. Remember what we discussed about verbal programming? This is how that system is formed; it consists mainly of the information on the programming you received in the past and especially when you were a young child. We already talked about who is primarily responsible for this kind of conditioning. Parents, siblings, friends, teachers, religious leaders, the media and the culture you grew up with are the major influencers.
Do you think a child comes into this world with a preconceived idea about money or do you think he/she is taught how to deal with it by others? Of course the child learnt along the way. The same is true for you and me. We are taught how to think and act when it comes to our finances and these teachings or automatic responses condition us into thinking and acting in a certain way. Unless of course, you intercede and revise the way you think about money, which is exactly what we are going to do today. Remember what I said a while ago about thoughts leading to feelings, then actions and results? Have you ever wondered where those thoughts come from? They manifest from the files of information you have in the storage cabinets of your mind and the information comes directly from your past programming. In other words your past conditioning determines every thought that bubbles up from your mind. However, in order to cleanse yourself of this verbal programming, you need to return to the true nature of your Being and live the success that you desire. To reflect this understanding, we need to re-think the process of manifestation this way: your programming leads to your thoughts, your thoughts lead to your feelings and so on. Think of your mind as a computer. By reprogramming your thinking this way, you can take the first steps to changing your results. In other words, your mind will attract your reality from the Universe if this reprogramming is successful. One of the best ways to do this is to disbelieve the fact that we need money to find happiness and that external factors prevented our success. This can be a challenge to overcome because we are conditioned subconsciously to think this way from childhood through a process called modeling. If you think you never fell victim to it, think about this. What were your parents or guardians like in money matters? Did they spend or did they save a lot or did they invest? Was money there consistently or did it come in sporadic bursts? Now why is this information important, you may ask.
As kids we learn just about everything through modeling and even though most of us hate to admit it, we unconsciously follow in our parents footsteps along the way. However, I want you to know that your success relies on you and no one else. Why should you allow external factors to control your destiny? Doing so will only render you helpless and you will remain powerless against it. This will make you incapable of change and you will let it take over. If you are working hard but are nowhere near your desired financial status, then you can change that by attracting your desired reality from the Universe. I'll now take you through a simple Mind Exercise that will help you do just that. Take 5 to 10 minutes, or as long as you like, depending on your preference and state of mind. Sit in a comfortable position with your back straight, inhale and exhale to relax and loosen your body. Now visualize all of your negative money beliefs and how they have conditioned you for failure and recall incidents that were proven true. Imagine them leaving your body as orbs of smoke one after another. This may be difficult at first since it is not easy to reprogram your conditioned beliefs. Take as much time as you like and do not stop until you feel all of those beliefs and the resulting negative emotions have evaporated from your body. Finally, allow yourself to feel gratitude for the richness in your life and for all of the abundance you have already experienced. Imagine gentle, floating orbs of color coming towards you. You know that they are filled with abundance and happiness. Allow them to be absorbed into your body, filling you one by one. Feel your heart expanding with gratitude, grace, and generosity. Know that the Universe is taking care of you. As you inhale and exhale deeply, allow your mind to rest and focus on your breathing until you feel that you're completely rid of negative thoughts and full of gratitude.
