Infinity TCX 867 Terminal Control Unit F E A T U R E S The Infinity TCX 867 programmable controller is a compact terminal control unit that provides lowcost DDC control of package units, heat pumps, unit ventilators, and other terminal unit applications with its versatile mix of universal inputs, triac outputs, plus an interface to Andover Controls' Smart Sensor room temperature sensor with programmable keypad. The TCX 867 also features two analog outputs to control reheat valves, dampers, lighting ballasts, etc. And because the TCX 867 is enclosed in a sleek, modular casing, it can be mounted in a small area perfect for retrofit applications. Metal oxide varistors and optocouplers on the TCX 867 provide 2500V isolation on each triacbased output, ensure noise-free operation and in most cases, eliminate the need to install MOVs in the field. The TCX 867 provides a built-in connection for Andover s new Smart Sensors. The Smart Sensor provides a 2-character LED display and a 6-button programmable keypad that enables operators and occupants to change setpoints, balance VAV boxes, monitor occupancy status and turn equipment on and off. An enhanced version of the Smart Sensor is also available with a 4-digit custom LCD that provides the following icons: PM, %,, Setpoint, Cool, Heat, CFM, Fan, OA, and SP. Stand-alone Terminal Unit Controller for System Reliability Cost-effective Direct Digital Control Universal Inputs with Form A, Form K, and Analog Outputs for Flexible Control Options Modular, Sleek Design Simplifies Installation in Small Areas View and Modify Information with Optional Andover Smart Sensor Display and Programmable Keypad Peer-to-Peer Communications Provide Transparent Data Transfer Plain English Language Simplifies Programming Infinity's true peer-to-peer communications protocol provides the TCX 867 with the ability to instantly communicate with an Infinity network controller such as the CX 9200, as well as the entire network of Andover Infinet field controllers. Up to 254 TCX 867s can be networked to each CX series network controller.
Infinity TCX 867 Terminal Control Unit COMMUNICATIONS Communication to the Infinity TCX 867 is handled via the Infinet bus, a twisted pair, half duplex RS-485 interface. Communication is accomplished with a token passing protocol which provides full transparent data transfer between all Infinity controllers on the network. INPUTS Input configuration consists of three full range Universal inputs that accept voltage, (0-5 VDC), digital (on/off), counter signals (up to 4 Hz), or temperature signals. The TCX 867 also offers a fourth input to support the Andover Smart Sensor, or any standard room temperature sensor. OUTPUTS The TCX 867 contains three Form A triac-based outputs for on/off or pulsed control of lighting, heat, and fan units. In addition, a Tri-state Form K output is provided for bi-directional control of dampers and valves. If an additonal Tri-state is needed, two of the three Form A outputs can be configured to make one Tri-state Form K output. Outputs are rated for AC loads only. The TCX 867 also offers two (0-10V) analog outputs. PROGRAMMING Every TCX 867 can be configured to meet the exact distributed control requirements of your application using Andover Controls powerful Plain English programming language. The on-board replaceable lithium battery keeps the TCX 867's programs and real-time clock backed up in the event of a power failure. Programming multiple TCX 867s is inherently easy with Plain English. A complete copy of one TCX 867 s programs can be loaded directly into other TCX 867s without changing any point names or programs. In addition, channel assignments for the TCX 867 are similar to other Infinet devices such as the TCX 865 for easy program conversion. SOFTWARE CAPABILITIES The dynamic memory of the TCX 867 can be allocated for any combination of Plain English control programs, scheduling, alarming, and data logging. Andover's object-oriented language with intuitive keywords provides easy operation and programming. In addition, Plain English s pre-defined and customized functions and powerful math capabilities reduce programming time for repetitive applications.
