1. Introduction Founded in 1970, Gamatronic Electronic Industries Ltd. has spent the last 47 years developing and manufacturing products for a wide range of AC and DC power management applications. Our product line includes UPS systems, AC-to-DC rectifiers, battery chargers, voltage and frequency converters, and more. Gamatronic s headquarters and factory are located in Jerusalem, Israel. Business operations, including development, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, sales, logistics, and customer service are handled in-house. 2. Business Relationship Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) is one of Gamatronic s highest-volume customers. Their purchases include integrated UPS systems, rectifiers of various voltages (e.g. 220 Vdc, 48 Vdc.), DC-to-DC voltage converters, custom DC power supplies, and more. IEC utilizes a multi-stage approval process, checking that all Gamatronic products meet IEC s rigorous standards. After submitting a winning bid, these procedures cover compliance with specifications and design approval through delivery of a prototype for testing, volume production, and finally acceptance testing of each unit. Gamatronic's relationship with Israel Electric Corporation spans decades. Our history demonstrates that Gamatronic has the know-how and experience to rapidly move an idea from inception to a tested and approved solution, including all of the standard deliverables and any special requirements. Our familiarity with IEC s internal processes gives us an important advantage in projects for IEC. Gamatronic service technicians are authorized for entry to IEC s facilities, including those responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair. Our technicians undergo periodic training and continuing education at IEC. Their work is evaluated by IEC management over an extended period of time to ensure our customer s complete satisfaction. 3. Gamatronic s Solution Gamatronic manufactures various types of systems needed by electrical substations, including: Uninterruptible Power Supplies 5KVA Power supplies 220 VDC, 30 A DC-to-DC converters 220vdc To 48vdc/60vdc 1-phase to 3-phase inverter, 120 kva 3.1 UPS 5 kva Gamatronic s UPS is a true online uninterruptable power system, designed according to IEC s specifications, and tested and approved by IEC. Hundreds of these units have been supplied to IEC. The unit is single-phase, with input and output of 230 Vac at 50 Hz. It employs Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and is controlled by a 16-bit microprocessor. The design of the UPS s cabinet and the layout of its components were built as specified by the customer. Easy access to the terminals, including for the external battery, and for all maintenance activities, is provided through the front panel of the cabinet. The UPS is easy to operate; the controller includes an LCD screen on which input and output voltage, input (option) and output current, and system status information can be displayed. The controller maintains a log of the last 200 system events, including start-up, shutdown, and any system errors or alarms. The UPS can be connected to a computer via an RS232 link to view system status and measurements. The communications card provides an SNMP link to a local or remote computer, for viewing system status or power measurements, and enables notification of system alarms via email.
3.2 DC-to-AC Inverter, 5 kva This DC-to-AC inverter is designed by Gamatronic according to IEC s specifications, and is tested and approved by IEC. Hundreds of these units have been supplied to IEC. The inverter is fed with 220 Vdc from the substation s battery bank. The inverter s output is 230 Vac at 50 Hz. It employs Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and is controlled by a 16-bit microprocessor. The inverter s cabinet and the layout of its components is built as specified by the customer. Easy access to the terminals for all maintenance activities, is provided through the front panel of the cabinet. Hundreds of these units have been supplied to IEC. This power system accepts 3-phase input (3x400 Vac) and converts it to 220 Vdc, 30 A. The system s microprocessor reports system status and power measurements. It supports equalization (boost) and floating charging regimes. The system is easy to install and operate.
3.4 DC-DC Voltage Converter (220 Vdc to 60 V / 48 V) This modular DC-DC voltage converter was designed in accordance with IEC specifications, and was tested and approved by IEC. A large number of these units have already been supplied to IEC. The system s input voltage is 220 Vdc; the output voltage is a user-selectable 48 or 60 volts. The system s modular design enables easy scalability. The system s output is divided into two strings. Each string is fed by up to 3 converter modules. Each converter module provides 40 or 60 volts and 27 amperes. The system maximum output capacity is 162 amperes (27 x 3 x 2).
3.5 1-phase to 3-phase AC Converter 150KVA This is a high-frequency switching system based on IGBT technology, accommodating an input of 230 Vac and output of 3x400 Vac; 150 kva, 120 kw. This unit is small and highly efficient. This product comes highly recommended, as it is one of the main components of our UPS systems.
