New clamp system for conveyor belt joining. 4B Beltsiflex RF Rubber Fastener joining system The 4B Beltsiflex RF fastener system is distinguished by its high flexibility, resistance and easy installation. The set is a flexible union combining several high quality materials and joining both ends of the conveyor belt thanks to special self-taping screws. The result is a long-life splice that is strong and impact resistant. Characteristics: - - Union with great resistance to the traction efforts, almost reaching the breaking load of the conveyor belt. - System with cutting, wear and tear resistance. Long life system with the consequently increase of the productivity. - Union with a high flexibility index suitable designed to support the inflections of the conveyor belts systems, even with the smallest diameter drums. - Fastener with easy assembly and installation. It is not necessary for qualified staff to install it. Just use an electric or pneumatic screwdriver and the special screws that are enclosed with the pack it is enough to complete a successful installation. - Union suitable for the whole range of conveyor belts (the fastener can be manufactured in several rubber qualities and different materials for the metallic insertions). - It is not necessary to make the conveyor belt pre-punch or provides a metal template to make the holes. - Good compatibility with conveyor belt scrapers. During the installation, the top and bottom cover of the conveyor are removed to adjust the rubber fastener splice with the total thickness of the conveyor belt. - One single part, avoiding the problems of the old traditional clamp systems, problems caused by the material filtered inside of the hinge system.
Beltsiflex Rubber Fastener: - Textile Carcass. - Rubber Covers. - Metal inserts embedded in the rubber fastener. - Self-taping screws. - Spacing caps.
Steps for the correct installation of the rubber fastener: - Cut the conveyor belt in bias, with 10% of inclination (10cm per each cm). This will help to run better over the pulleys and under the scrapers. - To avoid the internal friction it is recommended to chamfer both ends of the belt as it is indicated. - Before installing the fastener, remove both rubber covers (top and bottom) in order to avoid an over thickness. - Place both ends of the conveyor belts against the rubber fastener, ensuring that the belt is resting against the central spacers. - Use an electric or pneumatic screwdriver in order to fix the screws though the fastener.
- Before installing the screws, the rubber fastener must lay on a flat surface. A wooden board is recommended in case the screws have extra length, the can go through the wood without problems. - The screws are self-taping so it is not necessary to use templates or to pre-punching the belt. - Screw the fastener according to the following steps: First of all, screw the centre row and continue with both extremes. Ensure the straight position of the rubber fastener. Continue with the closest row (to the central one) and screw one each four holes. Subsequently continue with the other holes row, again screw one each four holes as it is shown in the sketch. Finally screw each 2 holes y full fill all the free spaces. - Unscrew the central row and remove the plastic caps.
- Install the other end of the belt as it is shown. - Screw the other end of the belt by following the same working procedure used with the first end. - Screw again the central row, sealing thanks to it the joint. - Check that the fastener is correctly installed over the belt and cut the extra length off the screws (in case it would be necessary). - To adjust the extra width of the rubber fastener, chamfer the belt as it is shown to avoid the extra width. The rubber fastener must be positioned as it shown in the figure. In this case, it is now ready for operation.
